I am using maxis broadband now.. so wanna ask.. will the speed be better if I use the fibre compare to my hotspot from my phone or it will more or less the same?
btw I just read ( I nvr have any fibre before)
when they come to do setup, they will drill the walls? i tot they just pasang the router that's all

My house got phone port.. they use it for fiber? How to avoid drilling?

I went thru agent but I think you can walk in to any TM Point too.

I thought the modem is just plug and play, no configuration needed.

bro I think upgrade from 30mbps to 100mbps got issue due to different type of cable use... even router given will be different...
so they advise me to take 100mbps.

I put in request to in April to change to wifi6 router.

Until now nothing, not even call back to confirm.

I called Maxis and they told me at least a 4month (business days!!!) wait for someone to even call me back to confirm.

I think they put priority for new customer... they will give me the 4g to use first on fri or coming wed, then 16 Jul will do installation.
this sound tempting as I saw review about how good is AX73... of course within this price range..
but I worry dunno how to setup... do you think the maxis new one is good enuf? how is it compare to celcom one... by looking celcom one seems like they are using AX50...
but as I know if you use this you can't have the 4G SIM card slot, as maxis customise their router with 4G sim

Out of curiosity, if there is a need to change the router given by Unifi, is there any specific configurations required or just plug and play to the new router?

Just wondering why some of you change from unifi to Maxis? maxis always have to go back to tm which is very troublesome.
my experience to sign up with maxis - as I want to get the 300mbps discount RM20 x 24 with dealer, so I cancel the first application directly with maxis telesales. and that's the nightmare started. since 9 July, until today 4 Aug, I still haven't get my application go through. everyday I call customer service, leave WhatsApp, twitter, fb my issue never resolve and dealer encounter error for submission need maxis to resolved.

at the end I suspect is because maxis port need to get TM order also, the TM order didn't cancelled, I can't proceed. Then I try register with TM also cannot because say my address reserved by another Company. Until last week I tell Maxis, my issue is it because of the TM order has not been cancelled? You know their CS - they just reply we already proceed cancelled, you can register again or register with unifi, no future explanation.
although the CS say I can register with unifi or resubmit via dealer, but I can't until yesterday (3/8) when I try register on unifi website, I can go through already, I immediately ask dealer to submit again - still same error.

so I give up, and just get unifi - registered yesterday, tomorrow the appointment for installation.

at first I want to sign up maxis because of the dongle. But I was told if im not maxis postpaid user I won't get it, I think wtf? so I got less reason to sign up with maxis... then telephone need to top up RM10 every month, but unifi give free 600mins... again I think wtf?

so I give up. I bought my TP-link AX5400 less than RM300 on 7/7 (that time standby for maxis), so I dun care what router they give, I just want my broadband.

On Monday  2/8 they say will call me back regarding this issue in 24 hours. until today, no one call me, if I dun check unifi and register myself, im still waiting.

I feel 101% disappointed with maxis. their CS is useless. if not because of the dealer can give the RM20 x24 discount, I am not going to drag for so long.
This is out of topic: I feel that using POSTPAID is really waste of money, maxis postpaid is super expensive RM98 (before SST). I use digi prepaid - RM 35 for 30GB high speed internet. I save so much from it.

you can calculate how much you spend with your telco and see whether worth it or not.

I pay for 2 phone number RM 35 + 35 = 70, get 3 lines only RM 105. some more when I top up got free credit, no SST.
find no reason to use postpaid especially maxis one...

I agreed with you. should be faster but its still slower than Unifi.
But the issue is, after I cancelled, no one able to assist me. after 1 mth can you imagine that? and I have to call every day to the customer service to ask them status?
as a big company like this, tbh im disappointed. they dun really try their help to solve customer issue...

so for question number 1.even my postpaid quota only 60gb monthly after combined with maxis fibre i will get unlimited data on postpaid?

My current unifi RM129 100mbps is expired. Suddenly sales agent from maxis called and offer same price RM129 (rebate RM20/month from original RM149 for 24 months) and they will include wifi 6 routers. The offer seem to be good deal on paper. But anything else should I consider before I confirm the deal?

The catch is: on month #25 price will be different**, they are praying that you will forget to downgrade // or get addicted to the extra speed (or at least think you dont want to go back down to a slower speed, ala the drugdealer business plan so to speak). Next time when offered ask the person back, what is the catch; he or she is OBLIGATED to answer properly, the telephone call is supposed to be proof that you agreed to the deal.

** this may or may not be a downside, depending on your situation anyway like i said; ie. you are looking for an upgrade and willing to pay for the full rm149 anyways, so the catch becomes a 2 year rebate on upgrade + bound to contract, a win-win for you + maxis; i suppose

I get plenty of these calls, both from maxis [official/agent] and unifi [ agents mostly; someone leak my information to these guys...grumble grumble *PDPA* ] offering to 'upgrade' / free this free that. For me most of the time its a very poor deal, because they always want me to pay more for something i dont use that much; ie. peak d/l capacity say 300Mbps etc. and take away my current unlimited bundled add-on (voip) [ which i do actually use; if i want this on the new deal its +RM10]

ah... the free mesh wifi downgraded to Tp-Link M4? advertisement say worth RM600, TP link M4 RRP only RM399, feel kena tipu...

I still wonder how does the Unifi agents get your details.

Like as soon as your contract is over, you bet you're getting calls telling you to get Unifi and offer mesh wifi lah, free tv lah and whatnot.
