Yes possible, provided LAN1 is Unifi Fibre and LAN2 is Maxis Fibre.
*
TM won't allow that anymore. I came to know when I try to ask about signing up for Maxis/other provider, then only terminate Unifi later. Both Maxis and TM said that must use switching method.

QUOTE(Koranshita @ Apr 28 2021, 09:56 PM)
hi guys

i received promotion on Maxis fibre
RM99
broadband simcard 20G + Maxis Fibre 30mps unlimited - contract 2y

I am using maxis broadband now.. so wanna ask.. will the speed be better if I use the fibre compare to my hotspot from my phone or it will more or less the same?
btw I just read ( I nvr have any fibre before)
when they come to do setup, they will drill the walls? i tot they just pasang the router that's all

enlighten me how is the process of installing maxis fibre
*
Nowadays they not necessary will drill your walls. There is even no FWS provided, just pull the fibre cable from outside into your house and connect to modem.

QUOTE(Koranshita @ Apr 28 2021, 11:28 PM)
Next question. They say need 3 plug for the home fibre? What the 3 plug for?

My house got phone port.. they use it for fiber? How to avoid drilling?
*
The 3 plugs are: 1 BTU, 1 for router, and another one for the cordless phone charging station. You can just use extention because those devices are not power hungry anyway. If you do not need to use the landline, or you use a regular telephone, 2 plugs is enough.
As for drilling, it actually depend on your place, how the cable is gonna come into your house. It is not a must to drill, and as much as possible they will not do so. Installation nowadays is very fast, if normal landed house can settle in about 1 hour. When the contractor come, they will have a look and inform you the installation process. Anything you need to customise, for example cable go through ceiling or need to cover the cable, you can nego with them and pay accordingly.
QUOTE(PRSXFENG @ Apr 29 2021, 08:01 AM)
I'm using this plan right now, so I'm basically locked in and can never escape without loosing this 10 year+ old number?

What if I port out then terminate?
*
Have to check with them on that. I might be wrong but they won't allow you to split the number from hotlink fibre and port out. Unless you can tell them to get another number as replacement, and once you manage to replace the hotlink number then only port out your old number.

I went thru agent but I think you can walk in to any TM Point too.

Can you share how is the transfer service done through agent? You still need to submit transfer ID or agent do everything?

I thought the modem is just plug and play, no configuration needed.

I guess I'll just wait for the technician to come.
*
There are some configuration which the technician or helpline won't tell you how to do. You sure is the modem problem and not the power adapter?

Get an external Wifi adapter to try out. If you have spare router can also swap that to test.

downgrade means maxis getting less money from you.

The point of contract is to keep you paying more or min the same amount during the period of contract

you can request downgrade after contract period end and there will be not additional commitment after that unless you take their

just got cal from maxis fiber, they have told me downgrade cannot but can upgrade.
but its impossible to upgrade from 30mbps to 100mbps as using different type of cable... cope and fiber
*

[/quote]
Maybe your area already has fibre, so it is possible to upgrade to 100mbps.

bro I think upgrade from 30mbps to 100mbps got issue due to different type of cable use... even router given will be different...
so they advise me to take 100mbps.
*
If you are upgrading from 30mbps VDSL, yes there will be new wiring. Modem and all that will be taken care of by the technician during installation.

Good luck waiting.
I put in request to in April to change to wifi6 router.

Until now nothing, not even call back to confirm.

I called Maxis and they told me at least a 4month (business days!!!) wait for someone to even call me back to confirm.
*
Go buy AX router this 7.7. Tp-Link AX73 can get around RM350, far better than ISP router.

QUOTE(desreg2913 @ Jul 6 2021, 06:11 PM)
I think they put priority for new customer... they will give me the 4g to use first on fri or coming wed, then 16 Jul will do installation.
this sound tempting as I saw review about how good is AX73... of course within this price range..
but I worry dunno how to setup... do you think the maxis new one is good enuf? how is it compare to celcom one... by looking celcom one seems like they are using AX50...
but as I know if you use this you can't have the 4G SIM card slot, as maxis customise their router with 4G sim
*
The AX50 does have overheat issue but I heard that's solve through latest firmware update.
To setup the router you need to get pppoe username and password from your current router.
Example username: 12345@home.maxis.com.my
For the password just add “1” so it would be: 123451

Choose Maxis for the VLAN profile and you should be good to go. If you need to use the landline then you have to connect the original Maxis router to port 4 of the new router. 4G sim card will not work, but if your fibre is working fine you won't even need the 4g backup. Otherwise just switch back to Maxis router if you ever need to use the 4g.

Out of curiosity, if there is a need to change the router given by Unifi, is there any specific configurations required or just plug and play to the new router?
*
I assume you meant Maxis? Just get the pppoe username and password, then configure it in your new router with the correct profile or VLAN setting. You have to have the know how of setting up router.

The BTU/Modem. Unfortunately you have to call Maxis to change if it is broken. Maxis will arrange with TM tech if your area uses TM infra.

QUOTE(desreg2913 @ Aug 4 2021, 06:15 PM)
Just wondering why some of you change from unifi to Maxis? maxis always have to go back to tm which is very troublesome.
my experience to sign up with maxis - as I want to get the 300mbps discount RM20 x 24 with dealer, so I cancel the first application directly with maxis telesales. and that's the nightmare started. since 9 July, until today 4 Aug, I still haven't get my application go through. everyday I call customer service, leave WhatsApp, twitter, fb my issue never resolve and dealer encounter error for submission need maxis to resolved.

at the end I suspect is because maxis port need to get TM order also, the TM order didn't cancelled, I can't proceed. Then I try register with TM also cannot because say my address reserved by another Company. Until last week I tell Maxis, my issue is it because of the TM order has not been cancelled? You know their CS - they just reply we already proceed cancelled, you can register again or register with unifi, no future explanation.
although the CS say I can register with unifi or resubmit via dealer, but I can't until yesterday (3/8) when I try register on unifi website, I can go through already, I immediately ask dealer to submit again - still same error.

so I give up, and just get unifi - registered yesterday, tomorrow the appointment for installation.

at first I want to sign up maxis because of the dongle. But I was told if im not maxis postpaid user I won't get it, I think wtf? so I got less reason to sign up with maxis... then telephone need to top up RM10 every month, but unifi give free 600mins... again I think wtf?

so I give up. I bought my TP-link AX5400 less than RM300 on 7/7 (that time standby for maxis), so I dun care what router they give, I just want my broadband.

On Monday  2/8 they say will call me back regarding this issue in 24 hours. until today, no one call me, if I dun check unifi and register myself, im still waiting.

I feel 101% disappointed with maxis. their CS is useless. if not because of the dealer can give the RM20 x24 discount, I am not going to drag for so long.
This is out of topic: I feel that using POSTPAID is really waste of money, maxis postpaid is super expensive RM98 (before SST). I use digi prepaid - RM 35 for 30GB high speed internet. I save so much from it.

you can calculate how much you spend with your telco and see whether worth it or not.

I pay for 2 phone number RM 35 + 35 = 70, get 3 lines only RM 105. some more when I top up got free credit, no SST.
find no reason to use postpaid especially maxis one...

btw you will notice telco dun like you to convert to prepaid.
*
Your problem is that you signed up earlier and try to cancel it. Had you just stay on and continue, maybe your installation would have been schedule.

I agreed with you. should be faster but its still slower than Unifi.
But the issue is, after I cancelled, no one able to assist me. after 1 mth can you imagine that? and I have to call every day to the customer service to ask them status?
as a big company like this, tbh im disappointed. they dun really try their help to solve customer issue...

ended up until now, no more maxis ppl call me anymore. no follow up on that issue anymore. so sad.
*
In this case, look at it in the sense that the tennant (Maxis) always need to go back to the landlord ™, hence the delay. In this current market, TM give priority for their own customer. I believe when you terminate, then they take god knows how long to release the port. Maxis may have just push the responsibility back to TM since it is TM's infra. Both are big company playing their own game for their own profit and benefit, so in the end consumer suffer.
Lesson learned from this is that you make up your mind on which provider to go for, then once signed up, do not make u-turn. If you need to change provider in the future, just use switching method in order to avoid port taken or not release to other provider.

i just installed the maxis fibre on saturday and they sms me with this.

Your Maxis Fibre - Voice was successfully completed on 30/08/2021 07:25:39. Your VoIP number is 6092XXXXXX

i just subscribed 30Mbps package without unlimited voip call which i need to top up another rm10 per month.is it true they just give phone number even we dont want to use it?
*
Yes. Paying extra RM10 is just to get unlimited calls. Without paying for unlimited calls, you can still plug in a telephone and use the landline but it will charge base by minute.

My current unifi RM129 100mbps is expired. Suddenly sales agent from maxis called and offer same price RM129 (rebate RM20/month from original RM149 for 24 months) and they will include wifi 6 routers. The offer seem to be good deal on paper. But anything else should I consider before I confirm the deal?

QUOTE(lonewalker @ Sep 1 2021, 03:08 PM)
Good deal or not depends on your situation.

The catch is: on month #25 price will be different**, they are praying that you will forget to downgrade // or get addicted to the extra speed (or at least think you dont want to go back down to a slower speed, ala the drugdealer business plan so to speak). Next time when offered ask the person back, what is the catch; he or she is OBLIGATED to answer properly, the telephone call is supposed to be proof that you agreed to the deal.

** this may or may not be a downside, depending on your situation anyway like i said; ie. you are looking for an upgrade and willing to pay for the full rm149 anyways, so the catch becomes a 2 year rebate on upgrade + bound to contract, a win-win for you + maxis; i suppose

I get plenty of these calls, both from maxis [official/agent] and unifi [ agents mostly; someone leak my information to these guys...grumble grumble *PDPA* ] offering to 'upgrade' / free this free that. For me most of the time its a very poor deal, because they always want me to pay more for something i dont use that much; ie. peak d/l capacity say 300Mbps etc. and take away my current unlimited bundled add-on (voip) [ which i do actually use; if i want this on the new deal its +RM10]
*
You got a point there. It really depend if you are chasing after better pricing for higher speed, then by all mean. After 24 months maybe can try lobby for Unifi again.
But if there is consideration for other add-on like calls and TV, that will be a whole new story.

QUOTE(vex @ Sep 1 2021, 04:12 PM)
ah... the free mesh wifi downgraded to Tp-Link M4? advertisement say worth RM600, TP link M4 RRP only RM399, feel kena tipu... sad.gif
*
That's why do not depend on ISP offer for router or mesh.

QUOTE(PRSXFENG @ Sep 1 2021, 05:19 PM)
I still wonder how does the Unifi agents get your details.

Like as soon as your contract is over, you bet you're getting calls telling you to get Unifi and offer mesh wifi lah, free tv lah and whatnot.
*
It's very easy to get details in M'sia. Remember the telco subscriber details leak? and many more.
