Call them up and demand to speak to at LEAST 2nd level network support to assist you. The first operator who usually picks up will make you go through silly routines and blame it on your equipment. |

QUOTE(shinjay @ Oct 23 2020, 09:36 PM) Would like to ask Maxis is still giving the Archer C5v router? If I'm not wrong they are still giving that router. I called the other day to check on upgrading my speed to 300mbps and when they check my device, the person told me this router still supports 300mbps. But take note this router is really terrible..I'm planning to change to Maxis from Unifi, for the RM149/300mbps.. wondering if my Unifi router Archer C5 is better compare to C5v ? |

I just installed today, they are still giving C5v router for people. the reason is they want you to get the mesh wifi with them too. that why the router are still so terrible. I changed from unifi to Maxis due to 300 mbps is cheaper then Unifi. now i get a tplink ax router. everything run smooth. don't waste time to get mesh. not worth of the value shamsay liked this post

I am using Maxis AC1200 Archer C5v Wireless router.
I would like to block www.youtube.com to avoid my kids to access it. I noticed inside the router page comes with parental control, any guide how can i activate it? |

so how long exactly will maxis reach out to you after you sign up for broadband on their website?
I guess either they're overwhelmed with a bunch of people trying to switch to maxis fiber (after a lot of unifi customers lost their discount) or their sales team is just too slow. |

QUOTE(Addword @ Oct 23 2020, 10:36 PM) Anyone experiencing super low upload speed compare to download speed at night? AddwordMy download spd: 650mpbs average My upload speed: <10mbps.... ![]() Yeah, slow upload speed for me as well from about 8pm to 11pm, the upload speed are mostly between 3Mbps to 10Mbps. I am on 100Mbps package, so upload should be 50Mbps, which other time of the day my speedtest does hit 50Mbps or higher. Note, upload speed goes back to normal, higher than 50Mbps during other hours, without having to cycle the power to the modem or router. This slow upload for me started in this month (October) has been consistent for the past 2 weeks between 8pm and 11pm. I wonder if Maxis is throttling upload speed during the evening. I also had 3 LOS (loss of signal? The LOS LED light comes, and no internet access) this month which resolved by itself after about 15 minutes, happens around 12noon to 2pm during the weekends. Don't know if it happens on other day cause I was be at work. |

Hey guys,
I'd like to ask if we're to change the maxis default router (maxis Aminia router) to other better routers like Asus/TP-link etc then we wouldn't receive any support from their technician as claimed by them? The current Aminia router would always freeze after some time of usage and would require a reboot to get things working again...not to mention the random drop in connectivity sometimes. |

Hi guys, just wondering if you have experience the same problems as me. Recently for the last 2 month, my Maxis home fibre 30mbps have been behaving weirdly.
I will have random disconnections every one or two hours. Especially at night from around 8pm to 12am. I may get up to 5 disconnections and random spikes in latency, the game's ping goes up to 460ms for a few seconds before going back to normal. Sometimes keep having re-connections non stop up to 20mins before it stablises. Resetting the router/modem and powerline also made no difference. In the more recent 2 weeks, its been more frequent. I thought because i could be due to the powerline in my home and assume the bad wiring in my house. Then i just found out from my neighbour whose also using the same home fibre facing similar issues. Is this issue with Maxis or the router/powerline. Thank you This post has been edited by AuraSapphire: Oct 30 2020, 01:01 PM |
