QUOTE(my44 @ Aug 27 2015, 07:11 AM) Mownink pipu! Wah so doom and gloom here. Be safe everyone! Ok got question related to ASB/ASB2. Please note the numbers are imaginary On 31/08 I got 40k in ASB. On 01/09 I withdraw it from ASB and put that 40k in ASB2 immediately. So will I be eligible for ASB2 dividend calculation for 01/09 to 30/09? Also, is there any different between "cutoff" date date for ASB vs ASB2 or they are the same? if i'm not mistaken, dividend will be based on the lowest amount for that month

QUOTE(alexanderclz @ Aug 27 2015, 08:16 AM) if i'm not mistaken, dividend will be based on the lowest amount for that month Interesting point if this applies. I've heard of the same rule before re: lowest balance of the month. That means if my ASB2 is 0 on 31/8 and in the morning of 1/9 before I put 40k in it, probably that means my lowest balance in September is 0. Hmm ... Let's see if other experts can vouch for this.

QUOTE(Hansel @ Aug 26 2015, 01:41 PM) The prb then becomes : for non-Bumis, they have to be extra careful. Looking at all the 6 FP funds, ASM is the most highly exposed. If there is no ann't, thn the default wil be an extension, but I suggest tht we need to read the incoming prospectus too to see what the extended date will be. Yes, I believe we as non-bumi have to exercise precaution and monitor the policies.. Although SC has the authority to approve any request from FP to VP, taking into consideration, the gomen priority on enhancing Bumi equity ownership, ASB is definitely standing strong compared to the other FP funds.. As such, the other FP funds are then subjected to the aim of gomen as well.. as SC also gomen de.. ^^ This post has been edited by smartinvestor01: Aug 27 2015, 09:44 AM

As per your attached , what's the meaning of distribution date? If I invest in as1m now , should I entitle any dividend in this coming end of September?

QUOTE(smartinvestor01 @ Aug 27 2015, 10:23 AM) Yes.. i think we are still the minority here to talk about those fine prints.. The other thing we need to be aware of in today's days of social media advent and penetration is : words and news travel faster from source downwards to the multiple layers and 'food-chains'. A person does not need to know of this stuff we have discussed by reading directly on this thread. News will reach him as time goes by. And we have ample time here before Dec 31.

just wondering - how many of you would still recommend to continue trying to top up the FP funds for non - bumis (ASW/ASM/AS1M) or most of you would just hold on till december...
my POV - just put as much now (at least you can still enjoy dividend till Nov/Dec)...if they announce change to VP - then only withdraw in Dec....coz the dividends are pro - rated anyway...
