Reply from ASNB:

The disclosure concerned relates to the accounting standard practised by the fixed price funds.

As all the fixed price funds are under the purview of the Securities Commission (“SC”), any major changes to the features of the funds are subject to review and approval of the SC and the Trustee, namely AmanahRaya Trustees Berhad.

It is the duty of the ASNB to notify unit holders whether individually or through public notices if there is any requirement for the fixed price funds to be converted to variable price funds.

As the fixed price funds are of national interest, a public notice shall be served if there is such occurrence of a conversion.

So they will notify the public if there is a change.

Reading in between the lines (the last sentence), I don't think this time they will change it to VP. Ha.

Looks like same reply as when I askedthe counter earlier - they said, wait for ann'ts. hmm.gif

Okay I've send e-mail to ASNB care asking about the conversation of FP fund into VP fund on 1st Jan 2016 & also I ask about the the upgrading into new system for ASW2020 & AS1M.

Hope to get some reply soon  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
you guys can also fill up the feedback form icon_rolleyes.gif
http://www.asnb.com.my/feedback.aspx

I amhoping the reply to the email sent by nexona would be more detailed, egs, if there is going to be an ann't, what will the grace period be for unitholders to redeem of they wished to do so, at what values, how many (if not all) would be able to get back the redemption amt of RM1.00 per unit based on the final nav prior to the ann't, etc...

Hi, yes, I hav thought of doing so. I like to observe first how they reply to 'ordinary questions'... Looks like they are replying with politically, and legally correct answers. If I should try with 'stronger words' using legal jargons, they might choose not to answer. Or reply in the same way - wait for ann'ts. mad.gif sad.gif

No way to dig more, I supposed,..

Add : Let's see how they reply to you first. rclxms.gif

So, just to conclude after everything stirred up.
- Regarding changing to Variable Price from Fixed Price, no. Since some people here already got the email replay from them, most likely will not based on what they reply. As we know many of us here will definitely withdraw ourselves from the variable price fund. This will create a massive withdrawal I suppose. And I do not thing this is what they want to happen. And even if yes, they will give noticed to us and hopefully same as last time that we had a choice to stay or not to stay.

- Withdrawal limit. As far as i concern, no, there is no such thing. If you want to try, you may try it now?

- Fund performance. I believe their fund performance so far is in good shape. As we see from the history trend, the fixed priced fund seems give consistent returned, also at 9798 0809. Just hope for the best.

- GLC. I don't want to say this, but based on my logically thinking, be it the current government or opposition, no one will shut down this. The simple logic is here. Try to look back why exactly ASN was first form. If like our dreamer say, if its shut down or whatever, which most likely do not. Then how about other, even money market also able to melt down.

- Respect. Respect other in order to respect yourself. This is a free forum. Please try to avoid use some word to address other. There is no joker or dummy here. Even you keep saying the same thing for years and year, we still haven't say you're a joker. Having an Elite tag doesn't mean you can speak so highly of yourself. You make me doubt, how LYN actually honoured their Elite tag.

- Call me defensive. Yes, only after I found some are actually spreading things that not likely to happen. I do actually very happy with the finding that ASB2 need to be declared its NAV. This is very new. And also calculating the NAV. Which is really good! We really thankful that people point out something which we aren't aware of.

Thanks. Hope more information keep flowing in!

Agreed with that.. A forum is for sharing between each other.. but what happen was the way he communicate is totally unacceptable.. like bombarding here and there.. why not just communicate nicely..

anyway, not wrong for being defensive as different investors have different risk appetite.. ^^

If you've been on the internet long enough you'd understand that behind the anonymity you'll find a person who may or may not have vested interest in one way or the other on the argument being put forward.

Those who frequent car forums will always know and can spot a car salesman among the many comments that is posted in such forums and the same can happen anywhere from air-conds to water filters to air purifiers and yes... even forums like these in LYN.

So one would never know the true intentions of a person posting his/her view on the internet because most hide behind the veil of anonymity.

They did not reply to all my questions. So I replied and asked them "if there is no announcement by 31 Dec 2015, then it is status quo as fixed price funds?"

Their reply:

Yes, if there is no announcement all product features remains the same.

So, a case of no news is good news! Ha.

But still, keep your eyes and ears open till 1 Jan 2016! Ha.

Happy 2016!!! And no more donation please, Ah Jib!

To be fair to the person addressing the email, it would probably be beyond his/her pay-grade to know the real status of any negotiations with the regulators. Probably only the very2 top of the entire PNB organization would be in the know and the rest would only have to go on what they are allowed to share.

At the very least, they replied quoting the master prospectus rather than just quoting nothing as the MP is a legal document that is registered and endorsed with the regulators.
