Those who are going through bad times, evil times, let me encourage you, you're being exposed on purpose by God for training to greater Glory.
It is something that is beyond your ability to withstand with dignity. It is expose on purpose so that it drives you to the Lord for dependency in trust, comfort and strength.

You are loved by the Lord.

This is the admonition from the Lord I get in the spirit.

Take comfort Bro n Sis.

IN HIM

QUOTE
Ephesians 1:7 (NIV) - In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace

Dear Friends,
I pray that Father God will open your spiritual heart to receive this in Jesus Name because it will strengthen your Faith.

I want to address this erroneous idea, the wrong idea that people have, about Salvation. Most people think God gave Salvation or that Jesus died on the cross, rose again and gave Salvation to Man sending the gift from Heaven (distance) then Jesus is now back in Heaven and then you have to maintain it.

It's like, you have a good friend living in overseas, say Canada sending you a gift that you really like and when you receive the parcel by mail, Then you have to take care of that gift (object), you're given.

No dearly beloved in Christ, Salvation is nothing like this. Salvation is not something given from a distance.
God did not give you the subject of Salvation, he gave you the person of Salvation.

Jesus Christ did not give you salvation, HE IS SALVATION!
Having Jesus = SALVATION!

Sorry for the capslock but this is something you need to get into your spirit.
If you do not have Christ, you do not have Salvation.
If you have Christ, it means you receive Him as the person of Salvation, hence the very meaning of

Saviour.

How do you maintain your Saviour if indeed you need to maintain your Salvation?
How do we work with our hands and feet if indeed we need to maintain this Salvation?

Somebody will quote you, Work out your salvation with fear and trembling WITHOUT quoting the next verse in context

FOR IT IS GOD.........who works in you...

Without the person of Jesus, there is No God "who works in you" changing and molding you. BTW changing you or in other words, sanctifying you doesn't mean you're in the process of having Salvation, you already HAVE Salvation when you accept Christ. It is given IN THE PERSON of Christ. That is why the main verse for this devotion as above in Ephesians 1:7
In HIM you have redemption and forgiveness of sins and the HS made it even clearer, according to the riches of your works, your obedience to God? No According to the richest of his GRACE!

Now I leave you with one powerful closing Bible verse which I hope you will take the trouble to memorize and remember

Colossians 1: 22-23 (NIV)
22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— 23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

Through your works? Through your upholding of the moral law of the 10 commandments?

You are kept Holy in God's sight without blemish and free from accusation by your Faith. No where under the NT, does it say you are kept Holy if you uphold the "moral law" of the 10 commandments. And look in verse 23 THIS IS THE GOSPEL!

What Gospel? The Gospel of God's grace that causes you to be HOLY, WITHOUT BLEMISH AND FREE FROM ACCUSATION by your Faith. Nothing more, nothing less.
In the last devotion, the Bible says Kick Out "Hagar" a type of the Law. Remove the whole system of the Old Covenant completely! Those fighting for the Law, you will not find any support of what is written in Colossians 1:22-23. Don't chain yourself to bondage again like the son of Hagar, son of the slave.

You are the son of the free.

Amen? God Bless.

Small testimony to share..

I been waiting a Gundam gold color model for years.. especially the 1 called Akatsuki in Gundam seed destiny.... however tat time when the anime finished the unit was selling around RM150 for the smallest scale.. I m a low baller so I pray tat I can get 1 new below RM100(in 2005 150RM is super expensive)... to be honest I completely forget bout the prayer after tat..

I pick up building gunpla after the anime Gundam build fighter aired.. n the passion to search for a gold color Gundam come back...n today after 10yrs, I found it in gamers arena. N the best part its cheaper n better quality than it was initially release back in 2005.. only RM78... it was an unlikely day Tat I choose to go time square... I hate crowded place at weekend.

Wat I wan to express is tat be grateful at wat God give u. Even a tiny thing like mine... God never forget ur prayer..

UW sharing leaves much for us to process.

I agree with much of it.

But I want to share the other side of the story.

While it is true God will never forsake us or abandon us, we have to take care that WE do not leave God.

The Christian life is one of constant surrender to the Holy Spirit and one of constantly abiding in the True Vine, Jesus Christ.

We will be constantly pruned so that we will bear more fruit.
John 15:1-17 is a difficult passage to read.

We must remember it is not by our Effort that we bear fruit but by our Surrender to God and abiding in His presence that we bear fruit. This is what is emphasized by UW.

It is when we refuse to yield and insist on our own way , that we are in danger of falling away.

is it even possible?

Yes

consider Hebrews 6:4-6

For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.

and

Hebrews 10:26-28

For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses.

So then, on one hand, we have the free gift of Grace and salvation through Faith. On the other hand is continual abiding in Christ that ensures our salvation.

This is why we say Grace may be free, but it is not cheap.
the price required from us is quoted in Romans 12:1

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Which brings us to the reason why Jesus says in Matt 7:13-14, because many will refuse to continue following God.

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14"For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Enough for now.

have a good rest and enjoy worshiping God tomorrow!

Good Morning Folks!

I want to continue where I left off yesterday.

Abiding in God is not a difficult process. It only becomes difficult when we choose not to believe God always has the best for us in mind.

We will encounter situations when we need to say yes to God and no to self desires and it is these times that abiding becomes hard.

Some issues may be small issues, which is what often happens, eg. Will you spend the next 15 mins with God instead of DOTA or candy crush? ( you feel the Spirit asking)

Some issues are moderate. Eg giving to mission instead of buying a new mobile phone.

One a while a biggie will come.
One that you can compare to Abraham being asked to give up Isaac.

Note in all these, you will feel the Holy Spirit prompting, but you will never be forced to obey.

God is a good God, He always bring us gently through a process of growth, and He will never present a trial where we cannot overcome if we really want to.

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (‭I Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭12-13‬ NKJV)

We can complain, why, why, why?!, but we will come through if we persist in trusting God and saying yes to Him.

Paul gave an excellent example of our walk with God, comparing it with an athlete's training.

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. (‭I Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭24-27‬ NKJV)

How then do we train?

We actually learnt this in Sunday school.

Read your bible, pray everyday. That's it.

No branch needs to struggle on its own to bear fruit.
It bears fruit simply by drawing nutrients from the vine as it abides, and the DNA of the vine will cause fruit to be produced in the branch.

Talking about Sunday school, it's time to get ready for church.

THE WATERS OF MARAH

After crossing the Red Sea, the children of Israel traveled for three days through the wilderness and found no water; then, they got to Marah, but the waters there were bitter, and they murmured against Moses, and Moses cried out to God. God showed Moses a tree (typifying the healing cross of Christ—1 Pet. 2:24), which he cast into the waters and they became sweet. It was there that Jehovah made a statute and an ordinance, and there He tested them.

In our Christian life we encounter many situations and environments that are bitter, and even in our being there’s nothing but bitterness; we are thirsty for water, but what we are given to drink is something bitter.

Bitterness results from an expressive or severe grief and disappointment. Sometimes we come to situations of severe grief, anguish, and disappointment; in such situations we need to cry out to Jehovah, and cast the crucified and resurrected Christ into our situation!

To be bitter is to be marked by resentment or cynicism; when someone is bitter, he is resentful and scornful of the motives and integrity of others. What should we do when we encounter bitterness in our situation or even in our being?

We should turn our bitterness into prayer: whenever we come to bitter circumstances or when there’s bitterness in our being, we need to pray and apply Christ as the crucified and resurrected One to our situation and to our being, and the bitter waters will turn to sweet.

We may be on the verge of becoming bitter toward God because of sufferings and bitter circumstances which we don’t understand and we can’t accept, but we need to turn our bitterness into prayer, cry out to the Lord, talk to Him, and have honest crying out talks to Him, then cast Him as the crucified and resurrected One into our bitter circumstances and being!

This picture corresponds to our spiritual experience. After we are baptized and begin to walk in newness of life, we are troubled because we have no natural water. On the one hand, we are like the people who complained and murmured. On the other hand, we are like Moses who cried to the Lord. When we cry out to the Lord in prayer, He shows us the vision of the crucified Christ. We need to see a vision of the cross. Seeing this vision, we apply the cross of Christ to our situation, and immediately the bitter waters become sweet. I have the full assurance that everyone who has truly been baptized into Christ has had this kind of experience. Our experiences may differ in degree, but in principle and in nature they are the same.

they are speaking in tongues which means they are talking to God or praising God in a word we wouldn't understand unless we could speak like them smile.gif
