Oh yea hoh. My bad. tongue.gif

Osaka to Kyoto is about 1420yen
Osaka to Nagoya is about 5830yen.
Nagoya to Kobe is about 7340yen.
Kobe to Tokyo is about 14160yen.
Total about 28,750yen for shinkansen.

*
kansai area i use surotto that cover my first three days there

next seven days use JR pass if not using JR pass

Osaka to nagoya = 5830yen
Nagoya to Kobe = 7340yen
Kobe to Nagoya = 7340yen (travel from friend house in nagoya)
Nagoya to Tokyo = 10360yen
Total = 30870yen

which is more or less the same not using but I took JR pass for that side visit I might discover when I'm there and also the ticket to cover from shin station to places of interest.

anyway, thank you for the calculation.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Need to ask sifus here..

If travelling around osaka for a week, is there any tourist offer for multiple train ride?
I saw a lot of type of discount card for train but not sure are the separated by different company.
*
I am no sifoo.. but throughout reading and researching I found osaka amazing pass is quite good offer.. come in 1 day or 2 days passes...(note expiring in April 2015 not sure if it will be extended)

http://www.osaka-info.jp/osp/en/book/index.html

a week in osaka, maybe u want to extend to 1 week around kansai... so kansai through pass could get you to any bus or train which are not JR

((another note: never been there yet... maybe other sifoo could correct me))

ermm...you want to travel 7 days in Osaka only? No side trips out of Osaka? Actually it really depends what places you will be going to everyday. Sometime, just paying the single fare may be more cheaper than getting those passes. If you hop up and down the subways many times in a day, then only worth to get the passes.

Really have to see your itinerary first then only we can advise.

Guys,

Need some help. I cannot find any other modes of transportation besides taxi late night for me to go to Chiba Prefecture from Haneda Int Airport. Ill be arriving late night around 2230-2300 hours.

Hyperdia doesn't show the quickest route there. all of the routes recommended are more than 5 hours.

Sleep at Haneda Airport.
If you landed at Narita still got hope because it was very very near.

A week in Osaka? I think you can do Osaka in 2 or 3 days, you should spend time at Kyoto and Nara and other places in Kansai. biggrin.gif
Take Kansai Thru Pass, I love this pass so much that I keep telling people to get this pass if they plan to travel Kansai region. biggrin.gif

Any recommendation for Kintetsu Pass?
For 3800yen, 5 days pass with 3 rides on Limited Express
My planned trip will cover Osaka > Kyoto > Nagoya > Osaka (Fly in/out via KIX)
Thinking of using 2 of the Limited Express for my return trip to Nagoya. The rest on normal.
Is that the most cost effective option? On map it seems Kintetsu's coverage quite extensive in Kansai/Chubu region?

Also, anyone travel to Tsu/Ise/Suzuka area before, any recommendation there? Seems like Kintetsu do have coverage there as well.

Thanks rclxms.gif

Here is some info for you...JR and Kintetsu are good competitors between Nagoya and Osaka.
JR Shinkansen is faster and more expensive. One and a quarter hour and 6500yen.
Kintetsu LTD Exp is cheaper. 2 hours and 4150yen.

I was hoping to take the chance to change my arrival flight too

Originally:

mar 12 : KUL -> NRT
mar 21 : NGY -> KUL

Would like to change to

mar 22 : KUL -> NRT
mar 31 : OSK -> KUL

Hopefully it can be changed with minimal penalty..

Yay finally got this changed without penalty. Had some small issues because I booked both as single flights, not multiple destinations under single booking number, so they took a day or 2 to settled it.

My rough plan: Tokyo > Kyoto > Osaka. Most likely spending more time in Tokyo and Kyoto not much in Osaka.
Looking forward to this trip for so long. 2 years back I've been there mainly for working, now I can finally enjoy as a tourist.

Anyone here have been to the Yamazaki distillery? Do they sell the Yamazaki whisky cheaper there?

it's better for you to get the Yamazaki at airports since it is tax free.

Yes.
You have to make reservation first at website // Call using hotel phone.
More expensive due to tax. Better buy at Airport Tax Free Shop.

Awesome how was the tour? Do they let you taste?
Any chance you all know how much the yamazaki cost there at the airport? Cheaper than malaysia? =D

It's pretty fully booked on my last weekend in Kyoto =(. Lots of people heading to see the Sakura I guess.
