I'm so sick now and been sick since the past two days. That explains the absence of me in this thread. I really don't know how I can make it through for my next week's trip and it is winter. Sucks to be sick now. Oh well, I did fall sick when I was in Beijing last year's winter.

cry.gif

Anyway, I haven't been doing a lot of homework and kinda giving up already. So, I will just wake up and decide where to go. rclxub.gif

Back to this thread, I read from page 1 to 7 and I saw some disagreements in between. Please be mindful that the purpose for a thread to exist is to discuss and help each other. What is the point of being so harsh for those newcomers? While I don't agree on spoonfeeding but come on, talk about shopping is not welcomed? I certainly don't agree on this and will not tolerate.

RegentCid, this is not the first time I'm seeing such replies from you and I did receive reports for you hostile attitude as well. This is not the kind of attitude or discussion we are encouraging here.

Take note and have a nice day.

I don;t really care what they said to me. I will still stick my way whci is you want the best answer u have to show me u are doing the homework well enough.

Like you want to taste a Michelin 3 star food first you have to work hard earn enough of cash. Same as goes to me. U want my Michelin 3 Star answer you have to show me your very very hardworking homework.

Mind you, this is a discussion thread and not RC's thread. Let me put this straight and hope this goes into your head.
If it is really difficult to carry on with a friendly and polite discussion, I really see no point of continuing this thread. smile.gif

We are here to discuss and appreciate your effort but being pushy and harsh on the forummers, I don't think it is really that nice.

I hope you get well soon 😊

I'm still studying and preparing for my trip in coming March, and get confuse everytime I get new info 😬

Been in and out to Japan for many many times doesn't mean that you know everything. Everyone is here to discuss, to share the knowledge from their trips. We might not know a lot of things but we are willing to ask and learn. Everytime when I see harsh reply from him, I kept quite and dare not to ask anymore. Well, I hope everyone can still share their tips from their Japan trips. Sharing is Caring 😁
*
Thanks, still hoping for the best now. Took piles of water, orange juice and medicine to expedite my recovery process. doh.gif

Anyway, this is just an open discussion and not intending to create more flames. smile.gif

Alot forumer here been push out by me. Can ask them how's excellent was their trips. No pain no gain.
Push you harsh on homework ...at the ends the gain benefit was you not me.
*
That aside, your attitude can be further improved. Just be polite. You should have learned a lot of Japanese culture, for a Japan veteran traveller unlike us. smile.gif

QUOTE(michlove @ Jan 22 2015, 02:35 PM)
Truthfully, I got alot of my homework done through tripadvisor cos no matter how silly were my questions, sure got ppl reply me one...
And those who replied me were Japanese, so I guess they know better.
*
Yes, I Googled and everything pointed to TripAdvisor, though I have not posted any question there but their comments were helpful. Only things which I'm not clear or not sure, I will ask at this thread. smile.gif

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jan 22 2015, 02:35 PM)
To be fair, i believe the comment made by RC regarding to the shopping was in jest and most of us took it lightly..especially the regret in travelling part.
*
You wouldn't know how many already got offended with that and that was just an example. There are many more which I'm lazy to quote. smile.gif

No, I'm not. Like I said, I really don't really bother anymore, it makes me more confused now and my brain can't think straight anymore. tongue.gif
So, just let it be and thanks for your makan tips. I was still thinking to go to which shop in Tsukiji, now I have more idea. Was thinking to just go into any shop that has lesser crowd. I heard any shop there is good. 2 hours of Daiwa, I'm really thinking hard now. tongue.gif

Get well soon, fruitie! take those soluble vitamin c 1 tablet every night before you go Japan. I did that too cos i worry flu when go there. And you really need a long john, outer wear wool or fleece, turtleneck the best and a good down jacket. Uniqlo down jacket works well for me and I only wore two layers inside for the whole trip.
*
Alright, will take note of that. thumbup.gif
Yeah, basically I'm just recycling my clothes that I used in Beijing winter, heard the places I will go will not be that cold compared to Beijing.
I used to wear only two layers (one layer of clothes + winter jacket)in Beijing but will wear three layers now since I'm not that well. Just bought another jacket yesterday from Uniqlo.

Those kind of questions surely ask to get whack one. No need RC also alot in here will whack. Sometimes it's just hard to do "homework" when you don't even know what to search for. We're not 24/7 sitting in front of the PC to read all about Japan.
*
Yeah, that kind of questions really make people angry. I think even in any other thread. tongue.gif

Guys, once I reach Shibuya from Narita airport, I will meet up my colleague at Roppongi for lunch because our Tokyo office is in Roppongi. I know that Roppongi doesn't have many things to explore and it's considered expensive to shop there. It has beautiful night view but that's at night. Anything that worth for me to visit during day time? If no, I will skip this and go to Imperial Palace. It's a pity that I couldn't get the free tour but I guess that's not a big issue. biggrin.gif

Then I will find something to walk around that area before going back to Shibuya again to meet my friend for dinner. Probably will explore Harajuku. I will also walk around Shibuya that night and want to witness the famous Shibuya Crossing. laugh.gif I will also visit the statue of the most loyal dog - Hachiko.

Is this a good idea? Any suggestion is welcomed, I know I could be really exhausted on that day because I will touch down early in the morning... sad.gif

Shibuya got darn lots of things other than the crossing and Hachiko. Don't just stroll the main streets.

Roppongi, I am sure you will find it different than what you perceive once you are there. Have fun navigating the Mori Tower a bit for the first time. Right beside there is Asahi TV too.

Bro sacwoc is working there.
*
Cool. I will try to find out about Shibuya then. biggrin.gif
Our office is inside the Mori Tower though. smile.gif Good thing for me. smile.gif
Asahi TV? OK OK. biggrin.gif

Thanks. smile.gif

18 Mastercraft was made by 18 Top designer in Japan.  Some made from Recycle stuff...some very future idea.

I see. I will be visiting the Doraemon museum because I'm a big fan of Doraemon. laugh.gif

Time is running up and I just exchanged 100k yen today. Hopefully it is enough for me to cover all my expenses in Japan. cry.gif

Worried and excited at the same time. Not sure what will happen to me. laugh.gif

Now I'm thinking to skip Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka and take a bus instead. laugh.gif For the cheaper alternative. tongue.gif

To activate CIMB card for oversea transaction, you need to do via Online at CIMBclick ..you can choose for temporary like 1 year or maximum 2 year.

Bukit Bintang are the best places to exchange RM to Yen...nearby Mc Donald...opposite..recommended.nice rates. smile.gif

Yes, Maybank charges 13 bucks though. I always withdraw when I'm in overseas.
I have already changed it at MV yesterday since I was there to buy things.

During day time or even night there is not much to do in Roppongi, besides Asahi and Mori tower. Maybe I have been here too long that everything here feels normal. smile.gif Since your friend are working in Mori Tower, maybe you can ask him/her to bring you to the top floor for lunch? Nice view and cheap lunch. If weather is good, you get to see Mt Fuji.
*
OK, I will ask my colleague. Hehe. Top floor restaurant ya? Thanks!

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Jan 26 2015, 12:17 PM)
If Take bus make sure Booking online first thru Willer Express website.
Flight is cheap but you have to take train from City to Narita Airport first.  NEX already cost u 3000 Yen per way
From Kansai Airport to Osaka by Haruka Express another 3000 Yen

Flight is cheap but you forget Transportation hidding fees from Airport to City...
So Bus still wiser choice
*
Bus is still a wiser choice for budget purpose. I will take note of Willer Express.

Guys, I cannot make up my mind which route to take to Shibuya from Narita airport? http://www.hyperdia.com/cgi/en/search.html...ed&sum_target=7

It will be my first ride in Japan, so I hope it won't scare me off with so many different lines. cry.gif

Also, the money changer gave me everything in 10k yen note, so I will need to break them into some changes, can I simply buy a cheap thing in the convenience store when I get out from airport to get it changed?

Narita express costs 1500 yen if you buy it with discount and you don't need to be change train since it stops at shibuya. Youncan just use your 10k yen note at the midori no madoguchu (ticket booth) and it's perfectly normal to use big notes here in Japan...

Got discount ah?

My friend's house is in Meguro and not Shibuya. sweat.gif Now my route needs to change. Decided to take NEX from Narita T2 to Shibuya since it only costs 1.5k yen now and from Shibuya switch to Meguro to put my luggage. After that go to Roppongi to meet up with my colleagues. Then after lunch, walk around Roppongi or may skip and go to Imperial Palace. After that will think about it again. sweat.gif Friend will wait for me at Meguro at 8pm.
