I heard that AAX will suspend Nagoya route. Anyone here with booking in the coming future and already changed?

QUOTE(daijoubu @ Feb 9 2015, 11:50 AM) I was hoping to take the chance to change my arrival flight too Yay finally got this changed without penalty. Had some small issues because I booked both as single flights, not multiple destinations under single booking number, so they took a day or 2 to settled it.Originally: mar 12 : KUL -> NRT mar 21 : NGY -> KUL Would like to change to mar 22 : KUL -> NRT mar 31 : OSK -> KUL Hopefully it can be changed with minimal penalty.. My rough plan: Tokyo > Kyoto > Osaka. Most likely spending more time in Tokyo and Kyoto not much in Osaka. Looking forward to this trip for so long. 2 years back I've been there mainly for working, now I can finally enjoy as a tourist. Anyone here have been to the Yamazaki distillery? Do they sell the Yamazaki whisky cheaper there? |

QUOTE(limchee @ Mar 13 2015, 09:29 AM) Thanks for the advise QUOTE(RegentCid @ Mar 13 2015, 09:33 AM) Yes. Awesome how was the tour? Do they let you taste? You have to make reservation first at website // Call using hotel phone. More expensive due to tax. Better buy at Airport Tax Free Shop. Any chance you all know how much the yamazaki cost there at the airport? Cheaper than malaysia? =D It's pretty fully booked on my last weekend in Kyoto =(. Lots of people heading to see the Sakura I guess. |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Mar 13 2015, 04:09 PM) For those Transit in Japan: Fantastic info boss Japan does not use or accept the ICAO tamper-evident duty-free bag, so travelers changing planes in Japan for other international destinations should wait to purchase any liquid, aerosol or gel duty-free items in excess of 3.4 ounces (100ml) after arriving in Japan. Passengers who have liquid duty-free items in containers larger than 3.4 ounces will not be allowed to take them through the checkpoint during the security re-check process in Japan. Summary: Please don't buy any duty free alcohol or Perfume from your country if you need to do transit in Japan. For those have Alcohol outside from Airport Duty Free. Such as from Factory Distiller. No liquid more than 100ml can pass Japan Custom under hand Carried luggage. You have to drink it on spot or throw it away. Check in Luggage can up to 5 Liters alcohol. But once u reach Malaysia. Malaysia Custom only allow 1 liters.....ur 4 Liters of Alcohol will be tax Kaw kaw kaw kaw kaw. For those Buy at Japan Airport Duty Free after Security Check Less than 24% - No limitation More than 24% to 70% - Maximum 5 Liters But Malaysia Custom only allow you 1 Liters. Maybe just 2x Yama 12 year or 1x 12 yr 1x 18 yr. But that means outbound wise if I checked my bags in I can't buy the Yamazaki before I board the plane |

How long does 1 need to spend in Fuji Q to enjoy all the attractions there?
And do they have a facility to keep bags? I plan to go to Fuji Q from Shinjuku with all my bags, park the bags somewhere, and after done with Fuji Q, go to Hakone and stay a night there |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Mar 14 2015, 09:50 AM) Yup managed to find out that Kawaguchiko stations should have large lockers. Since I'm going on a Thursday it shouldn't be too packed, hopefully there will be empty lockers left. Ugh a little difficult juggling between nikko, fuji and Kamakura. Kamakura I'd like it to be a one day trip but now trying to decide whether to stay overnight at fuji/hakone area or nikko area. From my checking seems both place's hotels with private onsen are really expensive.. Might need to settle for a short private onsen without staying overnight |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Mar 14 2015, 10:20 AM) You can enjoy those hotel luxury onsen facility without overnight. But you must know the opening Hour. Mostly open at noon only. I'm actually looking for private onsens. At first considering those luxury hotels cause most rooms come with own onsen bath but then they are way too expensive. Trying to find now those that open to non guests, but can only find Yurari that has private onsen facilities and even they require you to be a staying guest (I think). Morning and night are exclusive for hotel guest only. So far I can only find Hakone Yuryo and Nikko Lakeside Hotel has private onsens rental to non guests =(. |

Wow I have walked a couple of places in Namba and Umeda and can't find anywhere that has Yamazaki 12 in stock. Hakushu 12 yes, but not Yamazaki 12. I've even called up the duty free shops in Kansai airport and I can't find any in stock. Tomorrow is my last day and I'm contemplating on whether to run and get it from the Distilery before I leave..

Just back from my Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka trip.
Apparent they already stop restocking the normal Yamazaki, Hakushu and Hibiki. Only will sell special editions (much more expensive). As of today, left Yamazaki and Hakushu (ageless) 700ml and Hakushu 12 year 180ml in KIX. KIX airport prices (before they stop selling) Yamazaki/hakushu 3000 Yamazaki/hakushu 12 5700 Yamazaki 18 16500 Yamazaki 21 96300 Hibiki 12 4100 Hibiki 17 8000 Hibiki 21 16500 Hibiki 30 96300 All 700ml Reason why stop is apparently they are running out of stock. Not sure in future will have or not. Those in Osaka area can still get from Yamazaki Distillery (must pay tax) or if you lucky, can find from department stores around Osaka area but you won't be able to get Yamazaki 12 as it's too popular. Hibiki 12 or Hakushu 12 maybe can, but I reckon will become more rare too. On another note, managed to find Macallan 12 year sherry cask for only 3600 yen in Osaka =D. |

QUOTE(ch1ck3n @ Apr 1 2015, 10:47 AM) if you can get it cheap in Japan, it is worth it. Rrp in Malaysia is not worth it. Yeah ever since they shot to fame, visitors to Japan are buying them in droves. So difficult to find the 12 year expression =(Also, Yamazaki shot to fame when they were awarded for being a top whiskey. |

QUOTE(ch1ck3n @ Apr 1 2015, 02:16 PM) i remember drinking it last time before they won it. that time still young. Dont know how to enjoy.Recently buy to drink and try. I feel it may be good for a 12, but for that price... a bit hesitant. I like how smooth it is compared to the likes of Glenfidditch 12 and Glenlivet 12, but yeah the price has been up recently.Honestly, if you can get a macallan 15 for yamazaki 12 price. macallan 15 is still a better drink to enjoy. Previously 4500yen duty free Now 5700yen duty free, which will cease to sell Next cheapest, 7000yen consumption tax free or 7580 after taxed, but hard to find due to its popularity I've seen it being sold for close to 9000yen at certain shops. Crazy pricing. On the other hand, I think Macallan 15 should be easy to find in Japan. Not as common as the 12, but the 12 is really cheap! Cheaper than what I can find in Langkawi |

QUOTE(ch1ck3n @ Apr 1 2015, 04:48 PM) Supposed to, but I didn't make a reservation in advance! So I didn't get to go on tour, but I did however get to go to the bar and sample the shots for cheap. 15ml shot of Yamazaki/Hakushu ageless - 100yen Yamazaki/Hakushu 12 - 200 yen Yamazaki/Hakushu 18 - 500 yen Yamazaki/Hakushu 21 - 2400 yen Still cheap compared to what you can get from a bar Oh and they have plenty of other choices such as Macallans, Glenfidditch, etc. |
