Hi ,

I wanna to know my passport chip got problem. Do I have the any issue to visit Japan?

All these while I visit others country no problem as I just use the counter. I just cannot use self-check-in in malaysia machine...but I use counter and no problem with that.

However, Japan does not require visa due to our passport have the chip and now my chip is having problem. What should I do? notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

I worried Malaysia immigration no problem but when reach Japan.... I might facing issue there.

Hi guys, need some advice. I'm travelling to Japan in Sept with family. already booked 5d4n in Tokyo. Initial plan was to go 2d1n to Hakone after Tokyo then from there head to Kyoto.

However now Japan Met has issued a volcano warning for Hakone and raised the alert level. Summore the crater area has been closed off. Since i've not booked the Ryokan at Hakone, i've decided not to risk it and forgo Hakone.

Now i have a gap of 2d1n between tokyo and kyoto. any suggestion on where to go? wanna have some nature life after 5days of tokyo city life. Preferably with view of Mount Fuji or near Mount Fuji.

Got money to spend on Shinkansen? Take Hokuriku line to Kanazawa, from there travel to Kyoto.

I went to Nara almost the same week as yours last year. You should be able to see many red leaves already.

Sagano train, go early if you wan to get the best open air seat. The time I went there, 8.30am the counter havent open but already have quite a queue there. You can go very early then take a walk around the bamboo forest then go to the sagano romantic station to buy ticket or breakfast. In the station have few restaurant and souvenir shop. I love the 100/300 yen soup in that station. Remember to wear long sleeves cos it can be quite cold during the ride.

Your day 4 quite rushing. My trip in fushimi inari itself take at least 4 hours up and down the mountain plus photoshoots. The 300yen soya ice cream there quite nice. Kiyomizudera itself will take more than a couple of hours especially if you going to do souviner hunting on the way up to the temple. That's the best place to buy souvenir in kyoto(my opinion)

For me, osaka-kyoto-osaka on the same day kinda rush. And the train fees not cheap too. And you will be wasting 30 mins to 2 hours going back and forth depending on type of train.

Anyway, all these is based on my opinion. the sifus here can give you better opinions than mine.

It is out of the way, but it's worth seeing, IF you are willing to spend the Shinkansen amount.

If not then just spend the extra day in Nara.

got a question regarding Icoca

heard that Icoca can be used across all subways, trains, in Osaka-Kyoto area, but can it be used across buses as well?

I will be there for 7 days, is there something like tourist pass version which offer unlimited rides for travelers?

In that case forget about Kanazawa.

Do a 2D1N side trip to Nara, only 45 min and 700 Yen from Kyoto.

this will be my itinerary

Day 1
Kansai Airport -> Kyoto Station
Kyoto Tower
Gion District

Day 2
Kiyomizu-dera Temple (清水寺)
Sannen-zaka and Ninen-zaka
Maruyama-koen Park
Shoren-in Temple (青蓮院)

Nishiki Market
Daimaru Department Store

Fushimi-Inari Taisha Shrine (伏見稲荷大社)

Day 3
Arashiyama (嵐山渡月橋)
Tenryu-ji Temple (天龍寺)
Bamboo Forest (竹林)
Okochi-Sanso Villa
Kinkaku-ji Temple (金閣寺)
北野天满宫
Shijo Station
Tofuku-ji Temple (東福寺)
Pontocho Alley – Downtown Kyoto (先斗町)

I believe Kyoto there is lesser rail transport compare to bus transport, ain't it?

Is the Google Map reliable when it comes to public transport details, such as bus no., subway lines, timing, etc

About Kobe beef, expect around RM300 per pax for the premium one. If you eat the normal standard one, might as well don't try. Premium one really good....melts in your mouth....but I still prefer Hida beef smile.gif

Too bad I don't take beef, got allergic problem.

But I plan to visit Jiro's Sukiyabashi to experience the pinnacle of sushi art rclxms.gif

There are few places in your itinerary which is just within walking distance to each other i.e. Gion, Nishiki Market, Shijo Station and Daimaru smile.gif Maybe you should arrange all these places this in a day? Nishiki market quite long one ler...can spend few hours there...like me, I shop alot there tongue.gif
