haven't done the calculation but which way is cheaper? public transport or car rental like my case?

Not sure. Depends how far your journey or depends the places you go reachable by public transport or not. They have strict traffic rules to abide by

anyone here been to Tokyo disneyland and Disney sea?

Is the Q really that bad? Should I be staying nearby hotels to avoid the morning crowd? 2 days enough?
*
if you are planning to go to both disneyland and disneysea for two days, you may want to stay one night to avoid transporting from the city for both days.

the queues are equally crazy as other disneylands but i think it was bearable. FASTPASS is a must to skip crazy long queues!!!

Anyone tried the JR Tokunai pass before?

Besides that, anyone visited Kagurazaka in Tokyo? Any recommended place in that area?

You cannot actually go inside. Its situated in a park very near to SOGO and in the city center. So not sure why its haunted.

Ever since then, people have noted that they often hear screams in voices in the area around the epicenter near the dome. In fact, there have been several incidents of electronic voice phenomena (EVP) here including one particularly notable one of apparently the atomic bomb itself exploding. There are also reports of the souls of those who were killed lurking in the shadows of visitors at the memorial.

Sifu Sifu sekalian.

Any pass which I may overlook?

For one day tomorrow we plan to buy the subway unlimited at Osaka (800 yen). Then need to buy a one way ticket from Sakai to Kansai airport. This will cost a total of 1620 yen.

This is to stay at the airport as our flight is on Friday morning.

We have used KTP and Osaka Amazing Pass for the past week.

Hi all, I'm going to Okinawa at early next month~
can anyone share some guide for the transportation there?
Example like can thier train reach most of the tourist spot?
Or which transportation is the best for travelers?

Hi, read up japan travel guide on the map first. The rail system in okinawa is not complicated. Only 1 monorail line in the main island. It is only okay for within the city. They have a network of buses too. Alternatively, can rent a car.

hi sensei,

Been reading this forum for months. Didn't do homework before booking air ticket. Consequences, no red leaves cry.gif
Here's my draft itinerary for Oct. I'm not good in direction. Can have a look and advise? wink.gif

Day 1: Arrived KIX 11pm (overnight in airport and wait for next day 6:30am train) - Haruka 2-way pass
Day 2: Kyoto (Sagano Scenic Train to Arashiyama) - Is it possible we able to catch Sagano train 9am ? hmm.gif
Day 3: Kyoto (reserve if can't make Arashiyama on Day 2)
Day 4: Kyoto (Kiyomizu-dera, Fushimi Inari, Kinkakuji, Nijo Castle, Kyoto Tower)
Day 5: Kyoto -> Osaka (Heian Shrine, Ginkaku-ji -> Osaka Castle, Kuromon, Tsutenkaku)
Is it better if from Kyoto go to Kobe for day trip and check-in Osaka at night? The concern we have is not pleasant to pull luggage whole day tongue.gif
Day 6: Osaka -> Kobe day trip
Arima Onsen / Kin no Yu : we are on budget. Kin no Yu seems to be "popular to tourist" and cheap. Tocen Goshobo looks good but expensive ¥1650. Is there any other good onsen can recommend which local used to visit? Open air onsen? wub.gif
Possible to slot in spot for Kobe beef (Kitano Ijinkan) after onsen? Any tips? icon_question.gif
Day 7: Osaka -> Nara day trip (Kintetsu Nara -> Kofukuji->Nara Park -> Todai-ji -> Dontoburi/Shinsaibashi)
Day 8: Stroll around Osaka (shopping!!!) -> Airport (Shopping again!!! Friend is shopaholic whistling.gif ) Flight 11pm (Haruka pass)

22.Oct is Jidai Matsuri@Kyoto. Will it be too rush if were to travel from Osaka to Kyoto and back to Osaka again? Because we have booked our hostel in Osaka. Knew about this before booking, but overlooked when my friend did the booking... ohmy.gif

Many thanks arigato nod.gif

You will have no restriction on train time as most attraction would close quote early. I would say stay at Osaka and do day trip. Save you the hassle of packing and pulling luggage or even needing to rent locker.

Up to you, I believe it is very easy to find out the travel time via Google maps. Kyoto to Kobe you will still need to transfer via Osaka. (I used Kansai thru pass). Then it is just the matter of what is acceptable to you.

Unless you are using other pass or method I have no idea.

About Kobe beef, expect around RM300 per pax for the premium one. If you eat the normal standard one, might as well don't try. Premium one really good....melts in your mouth....but I still prefer Hida beef smile.gif

Hi guys, need some advice. I'm travelling to Japan in Sept with family. already booked 5d4n in Tokyo. Initial plan was to go 2d1n to Hakone after Tokyo then from there head to Kyoto.

However now Japan Met has issued a volcano warning for Hakone and raised the alert level. Summore the crater area has been closed off. Since i've not booked the Ryokan at Hakone, i've decided not to risk it and forgo Hakone.

Now i have a gap of 2d1n between tokyo and kyoto. any suggestion on where to go? wanna have some nature life after 5days of tokyo city life. Preferably with view of Mount Fuji or near Mount Fuji.
