I will be travelling to Osaka-Kyoto this year. Below is my very initial plan in planing out the itinery: First 4 days in Kyoto, then last 3 days in Osaka
Touchdown on KIX airport at night (about 12am Japan time) Travel to Kyoto Train Station via Haruka limited express from KIX airport Check in at Stella Higashiyama located in Kyoto Train Station
Questions: Any other cheaper / more effective trains to go to Kyoto from KIX? Any capsule hotels located in KIX and how much is the price
More to come. Just started planning today. huhu..

QUOTE(Samurai @ Jan 25 2015, 07:54 PM) Seem you arrive at 12am..at Osaka..everything was closed..not sure trains, bus from KIX airport to Kyoto only 3,500 yen for one way. There no cheap hotel at KIX , but you can stay at Hotel Seagull very good rates...its take 10 minutes by free shuttle bus from KIX to Hotel. http://www.hotelseagull.com/You can take free shuttle from KIX to Rinku Premium Outlet ,only 10 minutes. http://www.premiumoutlets.co.jp/en/rinku/Recommended to go ... Osaka Aquarium , Osaka Castle , USJ , Hope its help you. what is the earliest train to Kyoto from KIX airport? to save money I might just sleep in the airport while waiting for the train to Kyoto, is it safe to do so? my plan is to go to Kyoto during the first half of my 1 week trip, then only come back to Osaka on 4th day btw Seagull hotel is too much, I am solo traveler

QUOTE(fruitie @ Feb 24 2015, 10:12 PM) I changed 100k yen and left with around 10k yen when I came back. I did swipe my card in between for another RM 1.5k. Accommodation was free. Just makan, transportation, sight seeing and bought some souvenirs. Mine was 9D8N at Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Kobe. Nope. You have to buy yourself from the listed shops. your itinerary spanned across much larger area did you rent a car back then?

QUOTE(fruitie @ Apr 15 2015, 03:18 PM) Get iijmio SIM card. Information I have shared before and already on first post. that one is about RM30 more than the So-Net option anyway since Japanese LTE operates at 2100 MHz Band 1, I wonder if our phone support that band that means it should work anyway

although now a visa is no longer needed, but upon arrival at the immigration checkpoint, do we need to show proof to them the amount of cash, bank statements, etc, to proof that we do not go there for "jump aeroplane"?

just asking, normally when we book rooms via Agoda, the person name printed on the booking slip will be in the format "Firstname" then "Lastname" (eg. Kit Siang Lim) but for chinese, our formal name as per IC / passport follows the Surname, Given name format (Lim Kit Siang) would hotels / guest houses accept this? I been using this (Kit Siang Lim) format in local, SG and HK before, all with no problems, however I am paranoid about Japanese's perfectionist nature, do they accept this? I will be there for 7 days, is there something like tourist pass version which offer unlimited rides for travelers?

this will be my itinerary
Day 1 Kansai Airport -> Kyoto Station Kyoto Tower Gion District
Day 2 Kiyomizu-dera Temple (清水寺) Sannen-zaka and Ninen-zaka Maruyama-koen Park Shoren-in Temple (青蓮院)
Nishiki Market Daimaru Department Store
Fushimi-Inari Taisha Shrine (伏見稲荷大社)
Day 3 Arashiyama (嵐山渡月橋) Tenryu-ji Temple (天龍寺) Bamboo Forest (竹林) Okochi-Sanso Villa Kinkaku-ji Temple (金閣寺) 北野天满宫 Shijo Station Tofuku-ji Temple (東福寺) Pontocho Alley – Downtown Kyoto (先斗町)
I believe Kyoto there is lesser rail transport compare to bus transport, ain't it?
Is the Google Map reliable when it comes to public transport details, such as bus no., subway lines, timing, etc
