hi sensei,
Been reading this forum for months. Didn't do homework before booking air ticket. Consequences, no red leaves Here's my draft itinerary for Oct. I'm not good in direction. Can have a look and advise? Day 1: Arrived KIX 11pm (overnight in airport and wait for next day 6:30am train) - Haruka 2-way pass Day 2: Kyoto (Sagano Scenic Train to Arashiyama) - Is it possible we able to catch Sagano train 9am ? Day 3: Kyoto (reserve if can't make Arashiyama on Day 2) Day 4: Kyoto (Kiyomizu-dera, Fushimi Inari, Kinkakuji, Nijo Castle, Kyoto Tower) Day 5: Kyoto -> Osaka (Heian Shrine, Ginkaku-ji -> Osaka Castle, Kuromon, Tsutenkaku) Is it better if from Kyoto go to Kobe for day trip and check-in Osaka at night? The concern we have is not pleasant to pull luggage whole day Day 6: Osaka -> Kobe day trip Arima Onsen / Kin no Yu : we are on budget. Kin no Yu seems to be "popular to tourist" and cheap. Tocen Goshobo looks good but expensive ¥1650. Is there any other good onsen can recommend which local used to visit? Open air onsen? Possible to slot in spot for Kobe beef (Kitano Ijinkan) after onsen? Any tips? Day 7: Osaka -> Nara day trip (Kintetsu Nara -> Kofukuji->Nara Park -> Todai-ji -> Dontoburi/Shinsaibashi) Day 8: Stroll around Osaka (shopping!!!) -> Airport (Shopping again!!! Friend is shopaholic 22.Oct is Jidai Matsuri@Kyoto. Will it be too rush if were to travel from Osaka to Kyoto and back to Osaka again? Because we have booked our hostel in Osaka. Knew about this before booking, but overlooked when my friend did the booking... Many thanks arigato This post has been edited by chlangle: Jun 4 2015, 08:57 AM |

QUOTE(bearbear @ Jun 4 2015, 09:06 AM) You will have no restriction on train time as most attraction would close quote early. I would say stay at Osaka and do day trip. Save you the hassle of packing and pulling luggage or even needing to rent locker. Sorry, which day you referring to? Kyoto to Kobe day trip not advisable? or Osaka to Kyoto for Jidai festival ? |

QUOTE(PhakFuhZai @ Jun 4 2015, 03:33 PM) got a question regarding Icoca Kyoto sightseeing day pass ¥500heard that Icoca can be used across all subways, trains, in Osaka-Kyoto area, but can it be used across buses as well? I will be there for 7 days, is there something like tourist pass version which offer unlimited rides for travelers? It only worth if exceeded 3 rides (¥220 per ride) |

QUOTE(lastlovesong @ Jun 4 2015, 11:31 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I went to Nara almost the same week as yours last year. You should be able to see many red leaves already. Sagano train, go early if you wan to get the best open air seat. The time I went there, 8.30am the counter havent open but already have quite a queue there. You can go very early then take a walk around the bamboo forest then go to the sagano romantic station to buy ticket or breakfast. In the station have few restaurant and souvenir shop. I love the 100/300 yen soup in that station. Remember to wear long sleeves cos it can be quite cold during the ride. Your day 4 quite rushing. My trip in fushimi inari itself take at least 4 hours up and down the mountain plus photoshoots. The 300yen soya ice cream there quite nice. Kiyomizudera itself will take more than a couple of hours especially if you going to do souviner hunting on the way up to the temple. That's the best place to buy souvenir in kyoto(my opinion) For me, osaka-kyoto-osaka on the same day kinda rush. And the train fees not cheap too. And you will be wasting 30 mins to 2 hours going back and forth depending on type of train. Anyway, all these is based on my opinion. the sifus here can give you better opinions than mine. |

QUOTE(PhakFuhZai @ Jun 5 2015, 09:11 AM) I see... Cool, i also planning 3 days Kyoto 3 days Osaka (cum Nara Kobe)... U saw my draft iti?coz i only allocate 3 days in Kyoto and another 3 days in Osaka, accommodation in both places already booked will see how it goes, Japan IMO can go like once every 2 years.. if JPY maintain the current rate nowadays going to Japan is cheaper than going Korea and many other places syukur Yen drop further than MYR This post has been edited by chlangle: Jun 5 2015, 09:31 AM |

QUOTE(RegentCid @ Mar 13 2015, 09:33 AM) Yes. Sifu, my friend checked and he said Yamazaki 18yo cannot be found in airport You have to make reservation first at website // Call using hotel phone. More expensive due to tax. Better buy at Airport Tax Free Shop. Except Tokyo, any mall in Osaka selling Yamazaki? |
