i have 1 more question about n'ex tokyo round trip ticket also. i read through the website but still not very understand.

https://www.jreast.co.jp/e/pass/nex_round.html

if im correct, this ticket is valid to go to yokohama from narita airport right.

but the round trip ticket is just valid to use 2 times or unlimited during the 14days?

if only 2 time which means i can use for:-
- narita to yokohama
- yokohama to narita station (hotel)

only?

i covered both kamakura and yokohama in a day.
yokohama went to minato mirai, kamakura went for the big buddha and the shrine.
there were some wedding in the shrine that day so we became the spectator for japanese traditional wedding.

yes, shibuya can be considered as part of tokyo.

the jr rail counter girl in narita is very fluent in english.
just ask her if you are unclear.

imho, the ticket is valid for the 2 journey only, the destination is already printed on the ticket.
however, there were no one checking our ticket that day when we took the nex.

however, there are people checking our ticket when we took the shinkansen green class and gran class.

Anyone tried using Seishun18 ticket?
http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/pass/seishun18.html

The Seishun 18 allows unlimited rides on local and rapid JR trains (excluding reserved seats) throughout Japan from Hokkaido in the north to Kyushu in the south. Although the Seishun 18 is not valid on Shinkansens and limited express trains, it is a great way to enjoy travel at a more leisurely pace. This ticket package includes five days worth of travel for only 2,370 yen per day. One person can enjoy the Seishun 18 for five days, or it can be split for use by up to five people. The unlimited rides also include use of the JR Miyajima Ferry for travel from the mainland to the island of Itsukushima, popularly known as Miyajima. The Seishun 18 is a great way to enjoy leisurely travel.

Been, done, to places recommended by locals. However, can't always get back to Nagasaki even when visiting other parts of Kyushu so looking for good places in Tokyo Osaka (Ringer Hut?!?!)  There used to be a famous counter in central Tokyo under a JR track but can't recall where.

A really unusual meal in Nagasaki was Shippoku with horse-meat sashimi, soft and sweet.

Yes I have used it about 15 years ago when I was a student with lots of time and no money. Dont think its worth it if you are tourist. Took me about 18 hours to reach Tokyo from Hiroshima, and that cost me only 2370. You really need to plan well as to reach point A to D, you have to change train at B and C. I think I change about 10 trains. Looking back, I have no idea how I really did it alone and nearly every semester break!

1 night enough if you are young and fit. Last time when I was a student, we had dinner at 5th station, then hike through the night to catch sunrise at summit, then hike down in the morning.

Damn chialat, no way I can do it again.

Same, no more than once. Overnight is too taxing, altitude sickness is a problem because of fast ascent, no time to acclimatize.

Sifu RegentCid, I am going to Tokyo this October for the second time

but for 6 days only sad.gif

1. Haneda, arrive at night, staying at Ikebokuro

2. Yasakuni Shrine and Yushukan Museum -> Akihabara (HEY! arcade, brows.gif shop, owl cafe, don quixote and lunch) / Odaiba (miraikan+surroundings)

3. Edo Open air museum -> Nakano Broadway -> Ikebokuro(round 1/namja town/j town/Pokemon Center Mega Tokyo)

4. Either Nikko or Saitama(TRAINS) + Kawagoe. Doesn't matter because this is not my last trip to Japan, but incline to Saitama

5. Asakusa and Ueno(national museum, national science and zoo)

6. 10am flight to KL

Btw I am getting Grutto Pass(2000 Yen) for all the museum entrance laugh.gif

I did it 1.75 times. smile.gif Simply because for the 2nd time, I was stuck in station 8 due to typhoon in the middle of the night. Can't go up or down. So when the weather ease up, quickly turun. smile.gif
