Hi Guys, I've plan to visit Tokyo end of October 2015. I actually have a plan to drive a Toyota GT86 up to the Mount Hakuna (Mount Akina) but I don't seems to find any Car Rental for Toyota GT86.

Can anyone share the info with me if any? Many Thanks!

Toyota GT86 Rental price at Yokohama around 48800 Yen Per day
23000 Yen for 12 Hour Rental

You can reserve it through E-mail to Toyota Rental. It won't show at web because the price. But can be special reservation if you sent them a E-mail and pay the reservation fees.

My friend commented on my completed itinerary that I packed too many things in my Kyoto 2.5 days.
My current plan:
1) Nijo Castle, Nishiki Market, Kawaramachi Takashimaya (get Disneysea ticket), Kyoto Station (JR pass)
2) Kiyomizudera, Higashiyama till Yasaka Shrine, bus to Ginkakuji, Philosopher path, hanamikoji, shirakawa canal, gion
3) Arashiyama, Kinkakuji, Potoncho, Maruyama Koen night hanami

Looking at the list, seems that I am backtracking slightly. First night go Kawaramachi just to buy tickets. Second day go north to Ginkakuji and then back to Gion again. Third night go Maruyama Koen again when I pass by it on second day when going to Yasaka Shrine. rclxub.gif My hotel first two night is near Kyoto Station while last night at Kawaramachi Station.

Should I remove some of the places from the list? I am not sure if Ginkakuji worth the entrance fee. Philosopher Path and Shirakawa canal both look at water + sakura. Which one less crowded or look nicer?

I am thinking switching Takashimaya till third night when I stay at Kawaramachi Station area. But, if I also switch gion/shirakawa canal till third night, I can have more time walking along Philosopher path. But, I worry later third day become too packed instead.

So, any suggestions on reorganizing these areas? Thanks.

I strongly believe you actually mean Mount Haruna. Even if you drive GT86, you may be sorry to find you can't use that much of that power since it is public road with speed humps, and then although won't traffic jam but there will be normal traffic.

Guys, once I reach Shibuya from Narita airport, I will meet up my colleague at Roppongi for lunch because our Tokyo office is in Roppongi. I know that Roppongi doesn't have many things to explore and it's considered expensive to shop there. It has beautiful night view but that's at night. Anything that worth for me to visit during day time? If no, I will skip this and go to Imperial Palace. It's a pity that I couldn't get the free tour but I guess that's not a big issue. biggrin.gif

Then I will find something to walk around that area before going back to Shibuya again to meet my friend for dinner. Probably will explore Harajuku. I will also walk around Shibuya that night and want to witness the famous Shibuya Crossing. laugh.gif I will also visit the statue of the most loyal dog - Hachiko.

Is this a good idea? Any suggestion is welcomed, I know I could be really exhausted on that day because I will touch down early in the morning... sad.gif

If you collect hard rock stuff, there's one in Roppongi.
Look out for hello kitty themed stuffs.

I will be travelling to Osaka-Kyoto this year. Below is my very initial plan in planing out the itinery:
First 4 days in Kyoto, then last 3 days in Osaka

Touchdown on KIX airport at night (about 12am Japan time)
Travel to Kyoto Train Station via Haruka limited express from KIX airport
Check in at Stella Higashiyama located in Kyoto Train Station

Questions:
Any other cheaper / more effective trains to go to Kyoto from KIX?
Any capsule hotels located in KIX and how much is the price

More to come. Just started planning today. huhu..

Seem you arrive at 12am..at Osaka..everything was closed..not sure trains, bus from KIX airport to Kyoto only 3,500 yen for one way.

There no cheap hotel at KIX , but you can stay at Hotel Seagull very good rates...its take 10 minutes by free shuttle bus from KIX to Hotel.

http://www.hotelseagull.com/

You can take free shuttle from KIX to Rinku Premium Outlet ,only 10 minutes.

http://www.premiumoutlets.co.jp/en/rinku/

Recommended to go ... Osaka Aquarium , Osaka Castle , USJ ,

Hope its help you.
