Mauerbrecher very similar to VK100.P but it got very big weak spot at front which is machine gun port.
That make it very weak when brawiling at front line

Well the mauer isn't a bad tank, just that it isn't a tank I feel like paying for. I got maus on my 2nd acc and fairly good at blocking apcr rounds, its just not so exciting to me. The reason why I like defender is because it works like is-3, and soon I'm getting the tier 9 version of the defender. I like the pike nose play because I spend more hours playing them.

In battle I don't fear the mauer because I know how the tank works, don't rly fear the defender either because rarely you see pro driving one. I fear the krysler k when they are in a tunnel frontline because you can't pen that in the same tier even with premium. Only can HE them.

Sometimes when you have those heavily armored tank and in a match up when you are the top tier the group tend to have unrealistic expectation that you would carry the game, so be prepared to ignore them.

Also since you bought mauer I encourage you to graind the maus line, see if the VK100.01P is up to par as the premium or not. But tier 6 and 7 leading up to vk is not so fun to play, very underpower.

i heard somewhere in mid of feb there will be defender sale again???

A lot of ppl assuming Brecher is a brawling tank, but I see it as mid-range support + sniping due to its gun + view range...

This is why I am thinking whether to get a refund for my purchased-not-yet-used Mauerbrecher, but not sure Asia server will follow or not.

You should keep it, its a great tank to distract enemy spg and top tier because they are always mistaken to be as scary as maus, use that advantage to force enemy make mistake so that your side high dmg can pump in shots.

As for defender you can just buy the plane one without the special offer after. That tank also require you to have knowledge in how to position in order to be effective, which means you need to sort of like able to master pike nose before you can see magic happen.

However if you can only pick either one my personal choice would be defender because personally I love the pike nose more then the box. But if I am in your situation I would have pick the mauer because they already going to give me the tier 9 obj 257 which is even more trollish compare to defender.

Yup decided to keep Mauerbrecher since Defender pike nose's hull is not my favourite way to block shells, that 10k gold definitely will be needed for Obj 705 + top gun unlocking.

After playing Brecher a few games:

1. Multiple weakspots not really issues even at T9-T10 games, confirmed these whiners are just scrubs. T8 games really can keep pushing thru, everyone will just follow your back and wiping the rest of the enemy...
2. Gun wise same reload time as Defender's but far more accurate at mid range.
3. Render range sniping is very brutal to my victim... 440 alpha with 220 pen aint kidding... if not... gold rounds... while they cant really do to me, as always I find cover to cover my right side weakspots... gun mantlet thinner armor is not much issues too.
4. the only pain I can feel is, 20kmh... can suggest WG to buff brecher speed to 30kmh which is same as E-100.
5. Intimidating factor and Coolness: Brecher is a 168 tons monster with a badass camo which attract all the attention, LOWE + camo skin is not as cool as a Berlin Mauer I suppose?
6. Brecher 11500 vs Lowe 12500 (cheaper gold cost? RM208 vs RM220)

Finally: the priceless face of JgPz E100 (1050 damage bounced)

This is why you cannot go stingy with silvers at Tier X:

My FV4005 is being HE'ed by another FV4005 and survived: (1520 damage at hull I guess)



Then I went & HESH 1 shot KO his FV4005 in return: (1850 full HP damage on his turret)




Cost of HESH shell 1 round => 8000 silvers
OR
Cost of FV4005 full repairs => 20k+ silvers

My FV4005 opponents obviously chose 1900 silvers HE for saving silvers, but his RNG also discounted on him...

About Mauerbrecher, Its speed really need a buff (30kmh) to fit its name: Wallbreaker~

Since it has multiple weakpoints, but 0 camo, technically Mauerbrecher is not behaving like a Maus, instead it is designed to be opposite of Maus series.

Not sure why so many whiner whine about Mauerbrecher's weakpoints (It is not really a frontline brawler), I can easily get III medals from my Mauerbrecher games.

Its 168 tons mass for ramming is priceless.

Premium ammo in my opinion is better to only use when situation calls for, like if it makes dmg difference etc, if its just the pen difference and you already spamming them regardless of what enemy you are facing surely its going to be a money sinker.

That premium shell if you spend on heavy tank with spall liner equiped the dmg is going to be significantly less. But in this case against paper armor its always a good call to retire them early because of the dmg difference.

My current FV4005 prem ammo/AP ammo priority:

1. Always loaded HESH when game starts.
2. Pre-aim those open areas usually rushed by LTs/MTs/Fast TDs => Boomed done team a very good favour.
3. Continue to use HESH on heavies/SuperHeavies if their HP < 750.
4. Switching to AP ammo when facing Heavies/SuperHeavies if their HP > 750.
5. Switching to AP ammo for Arty hunting, but usually finish them with HESH as reload times is too long.

My findings on FV4005: Double intuition on loaders almost done, this skill is far more important than any loader skills/BIA on 2 of my loaders. It gives my 4005 a chance to fully peekaboom an incoming speedy threats like LTs/MTs. 34% chance of instant switch ammo type is too good to skip.

Btw, besides defender you might wanna save up for the upcoming italian line. The auto loader hybrid premium tank looks fun.

After getting the 168 tons premium Maus, my interested on Defender diminished rapidly, as I am not a fan of pike-nosed frontal armor even though it move pretty fast... and I guess the developers might do something about Defender's stats before re-release for sales, as its current specs hurts the sales of other tier8 premiums.

That italty hybrid prem tank definitely a must get for me... Lorr40t 's 33 seconds reload time is really painful to wait...

Now looking for any in-game tech tree premium T8 to trade with my FV4202... ever since I free XP until FV4005, I never touch my FV4202... (Its 1 of the best sniping premium MT though)

- STRV-S1 (best choice so far for unexplored tree)
- Lowe (overlapped with Mauerbrecher)
- Any other unexplored trees, preferably medium tanks (good for missions clearance)
- T34/Super Pershing?
