Oh snap! Why you like sky cancer?  bangwall.gif . Oh well please have mercy on the light tanks.  bye.gif

Haha well, my playstyle is not suitable for tanks after several plays, however I found my place in using SPGs to land solid hits despite buildings... Light tanks and combat cars are the ones I scare the most.

Tried Lloyd & Sexton II, but Britain's SPGs are very hard to control to me. I am using USSR Su-18 at my 3rd day of playing WoT, and able to score 4 kills in 1 game... Gonna spend some gold for Free exp conversion from Britain tree to USSR trees...

Would be nice to platoon sometime.

Ur game ID? I add you, currently use Churchill III premium tank for exp farming, trying to jump from:

SU-18 directly to S-51 SPG and get KV-2 later...

IGN: drift

I play from Tier V to Tier IX. See you on the battlefield!  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
there are so many version of "drift" as IGN... can SS let me know?

Now I in dilemma,

Currently what I got:

1. Elite SU-18 with 100% crew, vehicle exp 0
2. Elite Premium Chruchhill (Paid Rm33), vehicle exp 32329
3. Current USSR tree unlocked until T-28 Medium Tank

Should I:

1. Keep farming until I get enough exp for S-51 SPG and use 5328 gold to convert? (133,200 exp, direct skipping KV-1 & KV-2)

OR

2. Farming 40200 exp, stop at KV-2(spend 1608 gold), & then purchase the heavy tank & play until I get S-51?

Difference:

By using method 1, I need to spend more money (RM96) & direct get S-51 (already RM33 for churchhill)
By using method 2, I need to spend only RM31 more to reach KV2, and then grind all the way for S-51? (churchill wasted)

Please advise~

The first one on the list: drift [TROLL]

Seriously, if you have the funds to throw, go for it! I would always take the cheapest route just because I am a terrible cheapskate heheheh sweat.gif

That being said, the KV-2 is quite a fun tank to play. Made of Stalinium armor and armed with blyat boom stick, what's not to like?

And I still keep my KV-1 around. It used to be my credit farming tank when I first started.
*
If both KV-2 & S-51 I going to keep and playing it in long term(I like big gnu shock & awe, always),

It would be better to go for KV-2 then S-51 to avoid XP & Gold conversion wastage?
RM68 vs RM138 => RM70 difference vs the amount the time taken to reach S-51, struggling rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Either how Churchhill 3 (RM34) is basically a very basic heavy tank for beginners:
- This tank cannot follow big tanks together, it moves slower and hardly PEN the bigger tank such as 0-1/KV-1s, and traverse much slower than KV-1
- This tank cannot use for side scraping and angling, as its hull/chasis/tracks always sticking out to enemy fire(detracked rate is almost 100% when using armor angling), best fight face to face against LT/MTs with its rapid-fire gun~
- This tank is best to maintain distance and travel together with LT/MTs helping to spot the TD, as it can takes a lot of hits from LT/MTs, be careful of its super slow top speed...

Hi bro, if you really want to skip some tanks, I suggest you use gold to convert your premium vehicle XP to skip KV-1 and get the KV-2. The KV2 with the derp gun plays fine. Grind it until you get the S-51. The Churchill won't be wasted, it can still generate XP and Credit for you.

If have time to actually play the game, buying premium time (1 month or so) will actually be more rewarding because you can have money + quicker grind.
*
Thanks a lot for da advice... ya I intend to get the KV-2 & grinding towards S-51, it would be a wastage of KV2 tank xp if I directly go for S-51 full unlock...

Furthermore, farming with Churchill 3 is really painful due to its super duper long chassis + tracks/hull ratio working against side scraping & angling(full of many other flaws)... as XP farmer tank not really bad if on the right hands

Guess Churchill 3 the cheapest/ most affordable premium HT for a reason~ 4400 xp more to grind for unlocking a stock KV2~

I am actually thinking of selling Churchill 3 for 300k credits, is it worth selling?

Think will getting monthly premium very soon

The new TD works fairly ok, much like the german line except  that it has a little more derpyness towards soviet gun. Not particularly amaizing in my personal view.
Don't waste gold for faster getting of new gold, its not worth it, you might feel happy getting a new stock tank from that branch but you will realize very quickly its gonna suck for a while until you have upgrades. Its especially worst when you are in the tier 5 - 8 zone because this days too many power tank so you'll most likely waste money if you spend them on that. I'd rather keep the gold and use them on future discount on barrack slots or vehicle slots mostly.

If you absolutely hate grainding with heavy then I suggest just stick with the traditional spg line, the improvements aren't too great until you hit tier 8.

I personally play trough to kv-2.
gold should just save for rainy days, don't rly recommend to spend them on exp conversion, not worth at all. If you really have money to spend I would suggest getting a good tier 8 premium tank one time ..... for like RM200 bucks or lower during discount of that vehicle. Depends on your play style that one tank is going to be sort of like your actual income earner for the rest of your game. I personally like huge dmg , high pen and camp ...... so I bought skorpion g.
I think getting 1 premium tier 8 tank is much desired if no regular time to play, like if you only play 2 - 3 times a week the premium aren't going to give you much. Of course the most ideal is if you have premium vehicle and premium time, personally because of work I usually only have like 1hr to spend on alternate days, I use to have premium time, and with churchill 3 was earning fairly decent, but ever since I got skorpion g my 2 - 3 time play earn way more then the churchill 3 ..... so now if I have a long 1 - 2 week break I would spend on the 7 days ticket so I can maximize and not waste premium time.
*
Yea my currently plan is to use gold convert exp from churchill3 direct to unlock KV-2 for starters. (already have 40k pending exp in Churchill3)

Most heavy tank players might find KV line a bit confusing & hesitant to get S-51, while I having the opposite, as I hesitate on getting KV-2 while 100% firm on S-51.

About the traditional SPG line, I deliberately skipped that and go for heavy lines, as SPG only works properly/efficiently/less painful for XP farming when all the crews are at least 100%.

Thus instead of working my way up from SU-26 up to SU-14, I prefer to have more variety when it comes to grinding & I really like KV-2 & S-51 design & temperament.

Premium Tanks to me => Great XP/credit farmers depends on tier, but definitely can never become my main choice due to huge drawbacks in many aspects.(can feel the pain of using through 40,000 XP grinding)

How do u think about SU-100Y TD?

Noted, I will keep the Churchill.

Which one will be easier/less painful to grind? as follows: (if gold conversion is not the issue)

1. Use premium Churchill3 to grind 157,000 for S-51(along with 203mm), bonus to XP
2. Use KV2 (upgraded 152mm gun, else stock) to grind 157,000 XP for S-51, & use gold convert for 203mm gun (64,000 xp)

EDITED: Just bought the stock KV2 & transferred the crew from Churchill to KV-2 (90%), 1 shotted most tanks feels good~

1.

Anything you need credit for is much easier just spamming churchill 3 play to earn them.

If its exp then it will be 2, cause kv-2 is earning local exp as well as free exp at the same time. Rarely ppl spend free exp to get a new stock tank.
*
Yeah bought the KV-2 with 90% crews transferred from Churchill.

Comparison after using them both KV2 & Churchill 3:

Churchill:

1. Premium Tank XP guarantee minimum between 80 - 150 XP for a bad game
2. Tons of credits regardless WIN/LOSS

3. Painful to grind in overall battles, especially uneven hills & urban, due to super low tank profile
4. so-so performance even with premium ammo (credits burning), ricochet hits/PEN failure is too frequent even against MTs. Its high firing rate is only effective against fast moving tanks/suppressing fire with low damage rounds.
5. Flat-faced Turret armor design working against its own rapid firing gun (rapid fire hard to angle the turret often to bounce enemy fire), this flaws is the major fatal downside of stopping Churchill 3 to function as a proper heavy tank.
6. Can only use side-scraping within buildings/covers, IF using front track armor angling, tracks will always get destroyed by 1 shot.
This issue is further worsened by super-long vehicle chassis while having a center-back turret.(means whole vehicle have to peek further outside to enemy fires)
7. Against big tanks, Churchill almost cant outgun them; against smaller tanks, Churchill forever cant outspotted/outrun them, the result is always immobilized by tracking and exploded by arty/enemy big guns. I haven even mentioned about turtle slow speed against TD sniping which can hit Churchill out of range.

8. Turret turning speed > vehicle moving speed by a huge chunk, this tank is more like a LT/MT bully using superior armor to tank a lot of hits, thus best travel with LT/MT instead of hiding in the cities like normal heavy tanks
9. In conclusion, this Tier V PREMIUM TANK always comes with a bunch of PREMIUM flaws to balance the credits/XP bonus out.

KV-2:

1. Even with its stock 122mm gun, this tank can pretty much 1-shot-KO most higher tier LT/MT/TD
2. Higher turret profile allows this tank to peek out from a slope & blast enemy's turret at ease.
3. 1 shot KO with high damage guarantees the XP payout & better if you got the premium account
4. 152mm HE rounds => immune to armor angling/ricochets/sidescraping, insanely high damage HE rounds?

5. Much easier to get spotted & harassed due to size & height
6. Relatively thinner armor and hard to survive in open area against same/higher tier of heavy tanks.
7. Much Longer reload times & aiming time limits 152mm usage on certain settings.
8. Accuracy of a very large gun... relying overall crews skills like an arty rather than a heavy tank.
9. Expensive repairs and resupply if having a bad-game spree.

Conclusion? KV-2 is way easier to play for my case, Churchill 3 is like my worst nightmare on battlefield but feels like XP/Credits paradise when back to result screen from a good game.

Yesterday just get my stock tank upgraded with 152mm gun + HE rounds, 1-shotted enemy tanks X 2.

152mm HE rounds for KV-2 very unqiue cause high penentration among HE rounds

No more ricochets feelsgoodman.jpg, really like this glass cannon~

P.S: Pretty regret to get Churchill 3, should get Matilda Premium MT or top up to get SU-100Y premium TD instead.

2nd Week of WoT:

Pretty weird achievement from a Heavy Tank battle, it happens when the rest of the team prefer to camp passively and I have to go 3/4 edges of the map just to find these SPGs to kill, since HT hardly can detect TD/LT/MT...

Just to share what I experience on TD/MT bad habit at tier 6-8, most of them are doing the camping WRONG. TD/MT are not suppose to camp defensively & near to SPGs almost all the time~

I do hope you dont despair cause thats what you will see all the time.

Nearly 90% of the players are tomatoes/reds/cant play like sh*t

I stopped playing this game because of this.
*
Red players under XVM views doesn't always reflect on player's true skills, service records will always climb up slower than the actual performance.

I registered my account since 2012 but only 2017 Sept I started to play recently, my current win rate is 48%, but I saw a lot of so-called green players perform much worse than those red players.

I find XVM mod is giving a false impression on players by stats & affect the mod user's perception & performance due to the assumed negativity.

I am a mod-less player and always encourage positive play regardless red players or not.

This is how I determine a player's skill during the game:

A bad TD – bad players always camp passively NEAR the SPGs, or even worse, use SPGs as shields/spotters, TD have decent spotting ranges while having much superior camo values even when on the move. (thus not an excuse for not changing sniping spots frequently)

A bad SPGs – after 10 minutes, they haven even move their spots for a better shot(0 kills or 0 assists), while friendly heavy tanks are having obvious trouble of breaking through/wiped by enemy artys.

A bad MT – same as a passive camping TDs, never help to spot/support fire (their job is to spot and survive, engaging heavy tank is secondary, intercepting enemy LT/MT/TD with friendly heavy tanks is top priority too)

A bad LT – either KO-ed too early OR at late game, never assist SPGs to land decisive hits. Passive hiding also considered as a bad LT.

A bad HT - hiding passively(“sniping” excuse but 0 kills) without provide firepower to fight off enemy heavy tanks, resulting ally MTs/LTs/TDs being wiped in very short time. Travelling in open area without spotters as escorts always a very bad idea.

Copy pasta from NA Wot Forum:

Yes, 100% XVM creates toxicity.
It gives players an excuse to abuse others based upon their overall stats, not just how they played in one particular battle.
It gives players an excuse to ignore advice from others who they think are too bad to offer anything worth listening to.
It gives players a false sense of optimism that a "better" player knows what he/she is doing - they will follow "good" players off of a cliff.
It allows arty to specifically target higher WN8 players - this sucks.
It provides a "chance to win" at the start of each match which can discourage players from even trying.

wow that toxic? I wonder are they truly enjoy the game or just enjoying spewing toxic comments...

anyway there are a few points I apply to myself & everyone :

1. Everyone makes mistakes.
2. Not everyday is Sunday to most ppl.
3. You will never know win/lose unless u've tried.
4. Everyone got their own playstyle, learn to accept before criticize (except those with malicious intention)
5. If your tank is 1-shotted by ppl, or died too early in the game, chill and think on how to avoid similar occasion to occur again.
6. texting during Battle should be kept short, concise & neutral tone as possible.

I also wanted to quit when I played 3 months into the game, but then I join a clan and train with them, now a days most of the match can either earn or semi carry, the thing I hate in their MM is they mix loud mouth and pros, sometimes you are not lucky your side is full of loud mouths who die in the first 30 sec.

But the recent season for tier 10 only rank base on skill, I heard a lot enjoy that mode because the rank will place you with ppl around your skill level instead of random.
yea same.
All XVM does is just giving you rough info about each individual in your team, many don't know how to use them and see base sololy on statistic, and when they see the predicted win rate they are already discourage to do their best even before the game starts. I went on a match where half of the team died early and a few guys kept saying base on xvm you guys suck. In the end me and 2 other guy take on 7 others that is supposingly "best" in xvm rating and won the game.

So conclusion you can look at xvm to make predictions, you can't rely on xvm to tell you the game outcome. Quickybaby, a WoT youtuber made this clear in his past and current video a pro player who constantly carry his team in random battles.
*
Haha I don even bother to look at/install XVM to know my opponent capability, for most multiplayer games, I read & predict opponents' next move by observing their behavior patterns "real time", thats the most exciting part.

But I pretty loathe at those ppl who abuse the XVM to focus kill the best player in opposite team, while being caught unguarded & unable to react by those "red/bad players" actions & lose the game. It happens a lot in T6-T8 games...

Its our own effort to take note good players ID & be wary about them in battles;

BUT what XVM did is display their status indiscriminately to anyone, & effectively bring down good player's capabilityby a chunk by spoonfeeding to those who do not even to put in the effort to be a decent tank player. This tools directly discourage most players trying to be a better tanker, since it attracts enemy focus fire if you are doing better. In longer term, this tools generating more & more bad players who is relying on this & get a good chunk from good players without putting much efforts.

Example: 3 SPGs in a platoon VS 1 good player

1. With 3 decent players who are aware of this player's performance by own effort, they decided to put their bombardment priority on this player once the good player is spotted. This agreement involves communication, consensus & rewards of platooning with teamwork.

2. With 3 bad players who is not even in a platoon, XVM is telling them: "this player is very good, please get united and kill him first so yall can get a good chunk of XP while eliminating 1 of the high-risk-factor", without much communication & consensus, but reaping the rewards & ruining a good player's day.

Anyway, tonight gonna get my KV-2 Elited & finish my BIA crews faster before transferring them to S-51~

So you're gonna head down the SPG line? All the best yo, I hope I don't see you in-game because I always play paper tanks that get splashed to death by SPGs  puke.gif
*
Been 1 month since I playing:

1. Tried & rejected Lloyd & Sexton
2. Tried & Elited SU-18 & farmed free XP (brushed up my Arty skills for patience & rapid position adjustment)
3. Bought Churchill 3 (Super duper regret, might consider re-trade for SU-100Y if chances arise)
4. Farm free XP & skipping tanks just to reach KV-2 nicely. (spent some golds to convert)
5. Learned side scraping & hull dancing with KV-2 while on my way to elite this tank.

Current:

1. Unlocked & bought S-51 arty but not yet prepared to use her, due to crew transfer to new+different class vehicle. (80% training lvl)
2. By Eliting the KV-2 before crew transfer to S-51, I can speed up the BIA skill training on all crews in KV-2 first.
3. For future KV-2 crew training will be a lot faster too,on an Elite Tank.
4. Now looking for female crew mission to be done~

KV-2 / Arty fits my style very well since I dislike ricochet shots the most. HE rounds follows a curved trajectory, as long as can grasp the distance, very easy to nuke opponent in distance and leave them frustrated. 152mm HE rounds easily vaporized any T6-T8 LT/medium/TD regardless any parts, since their vehicle is much smaller for the blast radius to cover.

WHats your IGN, I add you and lets plats ~

Haha tier 10 is not in my plan yet... because I really like S-51 due to its massive gun of the tier + doesnt look like a box(howitzer design rulez!)

Just spent 800 gold and 1.2 mil credits for 4 100% crews (2 gunners 2 loaders) + EGLD & Rammer

Commander & Driver remained at 75% since they are not so important in firing the gun~

Currently using 152mm gun(really underpowered) & working towards 203mm top gun~

I am glad I am trained to use SU-18 before this S-51~

Design wise, I am pretty sucker in Russian Tanks...
