Actually I have hypptv but never installed the decoder cause of TV placement vs modem position (I know I can use wireless to connect but never got to it yet). I think I have the basic package or could it be basic + additional pack?

Maxis 20mbps is 198 while 30mbps is 248. Tempted to change prior to this upgrade but I thought what the heck since I have no problem with unifi throughout the years.

ya, i think u do have the basic hypptv pack, which u dun use. really, it is pretty much worthless...

maxis... i also tot of switching but it bothers me to read reports of maxis throttling dwnld speed at certain times of the day or night and astro iptv works only with original and not other routers. i hate it when a vendor tries to control too much, all to squeeze more from my pocket. mad.gif

Hi guys, I'm staying in apartment and just installed unifi last week. Is it normal for me to get the ping around 35?

i'm not surprised. this is how maxis operates. At least with Unifi i haven't quite experienced anything like this so far since unifi first launched hmm.gif

Hi everyone. I just got unifi VIP 10 installed yesterday. Got a funny issue now.

speedtest from laptop (wifi) shows download 9.5Mbps and upload 8Mbps but from PC (LAN) download 9.5Mbps and upload 4Mbps.

Problem is with upload from PC, LAN cable, can never go above 4Mbps. Checked the router but does not seem to have any config that restricts this.

Anyone experience this before? standard unifi provided router.

I have tried power off/on and different LAN port but still same issue. Tested speedtest more than abt 10 times over yesterday and today

that is your problem right there. the default router is a piece of shit which is intentional. what better way to prevent or hamper torrent and p2p ..... by giving you bad hardware that can't handle it of course doh.gif (not to mention giving outdated junk to save on costs, those cheapskates). And if that is not worse, make it harder to use your own router. No tips either on how to connect to unifi using vlan tagging (have to depend on the kindness of other malaysian unifi users like klseet, rifzan etc who figured this out for us)

i'm guessing your upload scenario use is for torrent ? if so this is especially gonna suck for you if using the default router. another thing that sux is the bad wifi performance, and network performance as well rolleyes.gif

you can refer to my post here about the router issue and suggestions..

Anyhow.... back when i first got unifi, the tmnutters helped me configure default router, and they did run the tests to show on speedtest the dl/ul is 10mbps (only later did i change router to my own). Did they do that for you when installing unifi ?

I'm not sure, sure the default router is not top notch but disregard it right away before even slight investigation is a problem here, the router should be able to handle that speed by the way, even though its not some high or even mid range router (plus he did state that he was using speedtest, not torrent), supporting 10 Mbps of upload does not require rocket science, especially when its over LAN.

Its more like he got a bad hardware in this scenario than the product not able to handle it. Used that for 2 years before moving on to my recent RT-AC68U, but I haven't have a single problem with it, the only downside is it wasn't able to transmit signal reliably to 3rd floor of my house which was easily solved by a homeplug so wireless transmission could still definitely an issue, which is entirely different from what he described, over a LAN cable.

I think calling the TM support is the way to go here, because its definitely not serving the speed he deserves.

I did call TM on the 2nd day. They told me nothing they can do since it is the router and there is no settings to limit this as far as they know and the fact that it is LAN. Asked me to monitor for a week. I can understand if WIFI has issues but for LAN...hmmm..maybe I got a dud router.

I was previously on Maxis...fed up with lag and contract over, hence, went back to Unifi.
