QUOTE(cherroy @ Jul 15 2015, 04:06 PM) Unifi is using VDSL2, not ADSL2+. Technology has evolved since ADSL era. VDSL2 maximum speed is 200 Mb (if distance is short), and degrade over the distance to around 50Mb, So theoretical speed that able to support on Unifi VDSL2 should be around 50Mb. Huh? Okay... Anyway, what I was trying to say is don't place too much hope in MyRepublic or anyone undercutting TM, disrupting this or that in Malaysia. This post has been edited by biloxee: Jul 15 2015, 04:18 PM

QUOTE(OKLY @ Jul 15 2015, 04:11 PM) Just came back from TMPoint, restarted router and bam upgrade completed to UniFi 30. First speed test result, download seems good, ignore the upload speed as my router QoS is limiting it. 199 excludes GST right? Luckily I'm not around this week, can upgrade mine next week.

By the way guys, there are some revisions to the price if you're taking Ruby HyppTV package.
UniFi 30 + Aneka or Varnam HyppTV = RM199 (excl GST) UniFi 30 + Ruby HyppTV = RM209 (excl GST)
I think TMPoint just got this memo on the revision, end up taking Aneka only since it won't really matter as I don't watch HyppTV.

Quite big difference, so far YouTube buffers really quickly for 1080p and improves download time on torrent by a lot, I think I might need a bigger hard disk now. The process was fast, I went to TMPoint to submit my request for upgrade, was told it will be done within 24 hours but the moment I came home (10 minutes drive back home) it was already at 30mbps.

True, start the contract early and end it earlier, then can look at other options after 2 years if there's any service that is better or on par with UniFi.

What tm needs to upgrade? Do they require you to terminate current package? Plus ur Unifi fix line number need to be changed?

Everything done at the backend in their system only. No termination required but they will lock you up with another 24 months contract, UniFi phone and account number will be the same.
