The second broadband plan is the UniFi 10Mbps package at RM179 a month (excluding GST), available starting 15 July 2015.I'm waiting also. Maybe they plan for installations to start after Puasa/Raya...

QUOTE(mechakucha @ Jul 10 2015, 01:06 PM) Went to TM point. This is the price they quote. Are you sure or not can just choose basic hypptv channel?Unifi 30 internet + basic hypptv channel - RM169 (excl. GST) Unifi 50 internet + basic hypptv channel - RM219 (excl. GST) + Jumbo Pack - RM60 (excl. GST) + Call Plan - RM20 (excl. GST) Official launch sometime in September. Can upgrade directly for existing customer with VIP5/10/20 plan. No termination fee. Only contract renewal to 24 months. Edited to correct "internet only" as "internet + basic hypptv channels" after checked with TM sales. ![]() Seems like, yes the internet they calculate at RM169 for 30/5Mbps but you MUST choose an IPTV pack that costs at minimum RM30 (Aneka,Ruby, Varnam). So your minimum monthly payment will be RM199 (169+30) + GST = RM210.94 and NOT just RM169 + GST = RM179.14? |

Why don't TM offer some basic sports channel pack at RM30 in addition to the Ruby, Varnam, and Aneka packs to choose from?
I don't watch any of those Ruby, Varnam, Aneka shows...waste. |

QUOTE(mechakucha @ Jul 10 2015, 03:10 PM) Yeap that's what the sales lady told me at TMpoint. If u have VIP basic then u can direct upgrade to basic unifi 30 n 50mbps. If ur VIP already subscribe to jumbo/aneka/Ruby/etc n still under contract, then u ll need to take the jumbo/aneka/Ruby/etc hypptv add on also. Hmm, so weird. So, Unifi 30/5Mbps = RM169 + GST But from here, Unifi 10/10Mbps = RM179 + GST |

By the way, I heard that it is now possible to port your current PSTN home phone number to Unifi when you subscribe as a new user.
Is this true? What is the procedure if you are a current phone + Streamyx customer migrating to Unifi? Anyone, please? |

"UniFi also allows customers to maintain their existing TM Phone number with NO additional fee."
Source: https://www.tm.com.my/Home/Broadband/unifi/...neral%20FAQ.pdf But the "Click here for more information." link is not working so that's why I'm not sure. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 11 2015, 07:46 PM) I remembered I applied on Monday and I was given a choice for installation on Wednesday or Thursday but I chose Saturday as I was working on weekdays. So after you register your interest, do they come first to check how to install, discuss/confirm and then come back another day to do install or one shot they do it in one day?In less than a week. |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Jul 15 2015, 08:43 AM) whats this about full llu (local loop unbundling). is this due in 2015-2016 when tmnuts hsbb monopoly in agreement expires ? Isnt that for copper only with max speed of ADSL2+ @24 Mbits? So how to offer 50/100/1000 Mbits?https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/801570/all Is the fiber network that TM is building now to offer >24Mbits part of that? I don't think so. By the time they unbundle the copper network, I believe TM would have covered all the major cities with fiber to offer speeds in excess of 24Mbits that they control. Sure, ADSL prices will drop then but it will be like a 1 Mbits Streamyx user today versus people who are on 10/20 Mbits Unifi? This post has been edited by biloxee: Jul 15 2015, 03:28 PM |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Jul 15 2015, 04:06 PM) Unifi is using VDSL2, not ADSL2+. Huh? Okay...Technology has evolved since ADSL era. VDSL2 maximum speed is 200 Mb (if distance is short), and degrade over the distance to around 50Mb, So theoretical speed that able to support on Unifi VDSL2 should be around 50Mb. Anyway, what I was trying to say is don't place too much hope in MyRepublic or anyone undercutting TM, disrupting this or that in Malaysia. QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Jul 15 2015, 08:02 PM) point is the policy from llu to give isps greater accessibility to the network to use their own hardware to offer customized services and for cheaper. In reality, TM is the one that has built/is still building. So, its probably prudent to not expect things to work like it would in a perfect world. So far they have done a pretty ok job I think... |

QUOTE(eternity4av @ Jul 18 2015, 02:51 PM) From what I heard from the TMPoint staff, with current VIP20 (RM229) price we would be able to get 50MBps in somewhere after Merdeka, I think they will eventually release it as my 2 years contract had just finished. You're paying RM229 (without GST) for VIP20 now? |
