QUOTE(marcus_bread @ Jan 20 2015, 11:28 AM) wanted to change my unifi original TM router which been using for more than 2 years. anyone can recommend a cheap and good to use router. is the XiaoMi router working for Malaysia Unifi? http://www.mi.com/miwifimini/sorry for those cant understand Chinese as i only able to get the China website of the router. really thx for your comment and input. If it supports VLAN tagging then should not be an issue to use it as the only router, otherwise you might need to use something like a Mikrotik switch to do the VLAN tagging while the Xiaomi router does the normal routing job.

Main complaint so far for Maxis is the throttling of certain usage like torrents etc during peak hours.

Will existing VIP10 users who are paying RM199 monthly have their bill automatically reflected with new RM179 monthly or we'll have to terminate and resubscribe?

QUOTE(memphiz_zero88 @ Apr 17 2015, 01:35 PM) for VIP10 user, how about those who upgraded from VIP5 with special price? I upgraded mine from VIP5 to VIP10 last year, and my bill is only RM179 due to the promotion at that time. so the price reduction is useless to people like me, right? Yes can consider the reduction not relevant for you since you were offered the same price previously. QUOTE(zhou.xingxing @ Apr 17 2015, 02:26 PM) heard exisiting users need to write in to apply If it's just writing to them then it's not a big issue as long we don't have to terminate and reapply.

QUOTE(kae7 @ Apr 17 2015, 02:29 PM) Me.. I always stuck with this IP its suck though VIP20 QUOTE(kae7 @ Apr 17 2015, 04:24 PM) I'm on WiFi, And I'm the only one using the connection. Before this I could get 18-19Mbps, up and down but I still love the ping. Playing online games, no lag at all.. 1ms ping from speedtest.net and you're on WiFi as well?

QUOTE(christina1 @ May 22 2015, 09:00 PM) Guys, Can you guys spot any difference between you tube 720p and 1080p...terms of viewing? Honestly dont see much difference between 720p and 1080p... Unifi again is having issues to watch youtube videos..sigh.. There is but if you're watching from a smaller screen like on mobile devices then usually 720p is adequate.

Usually when TM calls customers for invitation to upgrade, what is the phone number they use? I have the habit of not answering calls from unknown numbers.

QUOTE(giggs_509 @ Jul 9 2015, 05:39 PM) Streaming need high upload speed? Youtube? Streamer, as in a broadcaster so he will broadcast his gameplay to services like Twitch etc. While 5mbps might be enough for this, I think 10mbps upload will be much better for this kind of usage. QUOTE(boonykun @ Jul 9 2015, 07:30 PM) Just recieved an call today to upgrade my internet 30mpbs 199. Case closed Not RM169?

QUOTE(biloxee @ Jul 10 2015, 03:30 PM) Hmm, so weird. So, Unifi 30/5Mbps = RM169 + GST But from here, Unifi 10/10Mbps = RM179 + GST As mentioned in a previous post, RM169 without GST but if they force you to take a HyppTV pack which is another RM30 then it becomes RM199 without GST which equals back to the current VIP10 package.

QUOTE(biloxee @ Jul 10 2015, 04:19 PM) "UniFi also allows customers to maintain their existing TM Phone number with NO additional fee." Source: https://www.tm.com.my/Home/Broadband/unifi/...neral%20FAQ.pdfBut the "Click here for more information." link is not working so that's why I'm not sure. QUOTE(aneip @ Jul 10 2015, 04:24 PM) maintain ur old line.. not port to unifi. Didn't know about this and I've been paying to maintain the old copper fixed line as well, what's the procedure for this so that I don't have to pay for the old line and yet still maintain it?

QUOTE(josephting @ Jul 10 2015, 06:08 PM) I'm from Taman Melawati and TM called me to offer the VIP 30 + Ruby Pack at about the same price as current VIP 10 (RM 210+- per month including GST). Mind you that VIP 30 will boost your download to 30mbps but downgrade your upload to 5mbps which is fine in my case. What's the upload speed for VIP 50? So we can't just take 30mbps without any HyppTV package at RM169 (excl GST)?

QUOTE(cherroy @ Jul 12 2015, 03:43 PM) Seem like the unifi 30Mb package is still not listed on their website. I was offered to upgrade to 30Mb with Rm199 just few days ago, but due to little info given, and in rush during working hour, so didn't decide it yet. Will you be able to call back and tell them you would like to take up the offer?

QUOTE(eikozai @ Jul 13 2015, 11:26 AM) I took up the offer, and please be warned, no more free calls to landlines (i don use those so no issue). Same, calls are made from my mobile phone so not an issue. QUOTE(norman05051984 @ Jul 13 2015, 12:13 PM) Noob here, if upload just 5mbps it will not effect right? this only applies for uploads heavily? if i just download, fbooking, streaming upload doesnt matter right? Yes you are right. Upload will be important if you are a torrent seeder, broadcasting your game via Twitch etc.

QUOTE(cekaro @ Jul 13 2015, 04:18 PM) guys, i got an email from tm : "This is to inform you that the service requested is not available at your area currently due to the following reason:- [ ] port full [ ] >7km from exchange [ ] 5km to 7km from exchange [x]others anyone knows what does it means by others? If it's not due to port full or distance from exchange then most likely it's just as simple as area not covered.
