You can't perform yet you expect more ?

Depend how big is your tank, btw 80% water change weekly is good enough.

80% is a lot. I think 50% is the norm.

I just started my tank using shiruba filter, set it up last night and everything run fine till this morning, saw an intermediate burping effect from the lily pipe outlet.

Can anyone advise how does this happen and how to fix it? Tank is just 1.5ft and co2 been running from normal diffuser since filter started at 2bps.

Another thing is, i plan to do 25% water change daily, so being a first time with filter, so do i just power off the filter, leave everything intact, take out some water and put back in the clean water till the water level cover back the lily pipe outlet, then start back the filter?

Thk you

water change up to your liking but the norm is 50% no more than that. save some water bill la... more wc is done due to sickness usually. if just for tank maintenance, up to 50% is the norm.

about the shiruba burping, check your inlet hoses or the filter cover are air tight. air is slipping in and thus its making the fella burping.

for water change, just turn off your filter and then take out the amount of water. you may rub/clean the glass while water is being drained. replace the drained water then re-start your filter. enjoy your cleaned up tank! smile.gif

Hi Usman, while waiting for others comment, i will chip in to say that the 5 elements is not a must but it will aid in the plant acclimatization process to your tank. if you have the budget, go ahead with it. will save you a bit of headache in long run.

as for the plants, u have to wait for the otais smile.gif

Hi, is it normal that the bps drop overtime? Meaning you set to 2 bps at fist then after an hour, bps drop to 1?

I am using a manual type regulator without those gauge so cant see the working pressure. Please enlight, getting a bit ftustrated here.

Thank you

it depends. my air tube was having a leak somewhere so the bps was not so accurate and yes it does fall over some period of time. i usually check weekly basis then i'm doing wc. if you are setting it daily, then there is chance that the regulator is faulty or the regulator is not suitable for the bps tat you are targetting (ie less than 1bps per sec).

Darn, a manual type tahan for 5 years? I hope he still selling. I do some troubleshooting last night. Quite confirm reg faulty. I connect the regulator terus to diffuser, after a while pressure drop as misty bubble become less from diffuser. Let it be then this morning, no co2 coming out at all. Turn a bit of the faucet from regulator then co2 come again. Kinda frustrated

i have a hunch that the co2 may have frozen up your regulator due to very small bps. i know mine did... so i have to open up a bit more to let it flow without any hindrance.

what is your bps?
