Yup...
after download aquarium notes from playstore... key in the stats...
the volumes is about 56L~60L

So, what is the suggested canister flowrates?
What the minimum and maximum of the flowrates?
*
honestly, i think la, too small for canister. normal filter would do lol

unless you have specific purpose/goal you wanna achieve in that tank

I got mini Canister from Dophin (CF300) with a manufactur flowrates @410L/hr.

Do you think it is enough already? If I connect this filter to CO2 reactor, still good ka the flowrates?

Reguards

this i think need the sifus here to answer liao lol

QUOTE(ujelly @ Aug 9 2017, 03:59 PM)
At high temperature plant grow is rate higher thus require higher co2, co2 and oxygen hardly retain in water at high temperatures, if you were to include high power light it is going to make the plant demand more co2, yet you have fishes that is going to suffer if you increase the rate of co2.

Thus many fail to grow plant due to fail in co2 control, it is better to start without live stock, mini fissiden is a very simple plant, if you lurk in other planted forums you will see many said it grow nicely in low tech tank, in high tech tank it melt away die or ugly, that is due to unbalance equipments and causing difficulties in co2 control and achieving optimum co2; most of the times is caused by high light, high temperature.

I'm not saying you can't grow it in high temperature, but you will have better luck, with any other plants if your temperature range between 22 to 25 degree, drop check indicate green co2, Mid range of light that give around 55 par, that is the sweet spot, where co2 demand and supply is easily controlled.

If you want to grow it in high temperature just increase the rate of co2 to max.
*
my low tech (shrimp tank) have no co2. too risky for shrimps.

yeah temp is around 27 28, shrimp doing fine. lights from led is around 6 or 7 hours per day. the only other source of lights is indirect light from window which is quite far away.

they are growing, those fissidens, but color is dark dull green. perhaps i should trim it abit.

the light i would consider mid high / above mid high. light is on during night time when temp is cooler

Do you have air pump? try micro air bubbles diffuser, the good point that it can lower your temperature, provide sufficient of co2 and o2 to your tank.

Bad point are too many bubles, cloud your water when it is on. Not to mention in order to support the atomiser air stone you need to get expansive adjustable high pressure air pump. The cloudy water problems can be solved easily if you put it in your sump or hang on filter or you have a fairly large tank.

just get co2 and h2o electrolysis device can't remember the actual name but it will separate the water making oxygen and hydrogen, thus your shrimp will have plenty of oxygen even co2 is at high level. Down point is you need to top up your tank water frequently.
*
i do have sponge filter

micro air bubbles encourage co2?

the air pump i using currently is fluval q2. not sure if that's good enough. my guess is, not? lol

Finally found Otto in Fish Depot.

Super happy with this fish - had diatom/brown algae problem for past few months, first bought nerite snail, but for some reason won't go to glass, and very inactive. Probably sick  sad.gif

Then bought siamese algae eater - I did mistake of not doing acclimatisation (my ph is low due to pressurised CO2) - they died overnight.

Then went and got 2 Ottos, did acclimatisation, left overnight, came back morning all my diatoms on glass cleaned!!! Happy happy happy!

So I rewarded them with shrimp wafer - hopefully they will like it since my tank almost cleaned now  sweat.gif

If you have Ottos what do you feed them? Blanched choy sum they can eat?  sweat.gif

p/s: can you see the baby guppies curious about the wafer? one of my guppies gave birth to 14 babies now have to start upgrading tank and separate sex rclxub.gif

let them breed wild and free!! devil.gif brows.gif icon_idea.gif

Any suggestion what to do now?

http://aqadvisor.com

Btw, Sifus, do we really need to follow the above guideline? 10 gallons tank can have 10 small fishes only... It is also empty...
*
the 10 gallons 10 fish is just a guideline for luxury fish living lol

yes you can put more than that but depends on you wanna see your fish swimming elegantly or swimming cramp-ly biggrin.gif

my suggestion is, know your fish first. there are top, middle and bottom dweller fish.

guppy mostly is top, neon is more to middle, and perhaps some otos as bottom dwellers. but keep in mind they do go all around up down the tank sometimes.

sweat.gif  1 week++ after cleaning those leaf wif tooth brush, its come back again.....

so i should just on the LED 12 hour at night? or lesser?
*
hahahaha

i was wondering, no algae ke u on 24/7 lol

6-8 hours is good enough d i think, some more got moderate sunlight.

mine get very little sunlight (tank on one end, window on another end) lights on for around 6+ hours at night only.

on the light manually lo if got ppl come see see. can invest in a timer plug. rm24++ only. can set what time to on and off. no need trouble go on off manually

*
oto is one of the smallest

one of the most available la

others smaller one are usually more expensive and hard to get. some even require certain standard of water quality laugh.gif

but u wont go wrong with oto. most friendly catfish, or fish, for that matter.
