So, what is the suggested canister flowrates?
What the minimum and maximum of the flowrates?

I got mini Canister from Dophin (CF300) with a manufactur flowrates @410L/hr.

Do you think it is enough already? If I connect this filter to CO2 reactor, still good ka the flowrates?

At high temperature plant grow is rate higher thus require higher co2, co2 and oxygen hardly retain in water at high temperatures, if you were to include high power light it is going to make the plant demand more co2, yet you have fishes that is going to suffer if you increase the rate of co2.

Thus many fail to grow plant due to fail in co2 control, it is better to start without live stock, mini fissiden is a very simple plant, if you lurk in other planted forums you will see many said it grow nicely in low tech tank, in high tech tank it melt away die or ugly, that is due to unbalance equipments and causing difficulties in co2 control and achieving optimum co2; most of the times is caused by high light, high temperature.

I'm not saying you can't grow it in high temperature, but you will have better luck, with any other plants if your temperature range between 22 to 25 degree, drop check indicate green co2, Mid range of light that give around 55 par, that is the sweet spot, where co2 demand and supply is easily controlled.

If you want to grow it in high temperature just increase the rate of co2 to max.

Do you have air pump? try micro air bubbles diffuser, the good point that it can lower your temperature, provide sufficient of co2 and o2 to your tank.

Bad point are too many bubles, cloud your water when it is on. Not to mention in order to support the atomiser air stone you need to get expansive adjustable high pressure air pump. The cloudy water problems can be solved easily if you put it in your sump or hang on filter or you have a fairly large tank.

just get co2 and h2o electrolysis device can't remember the actual name but it will separate the water making oxygen and hydrogen, thus your shrimp will have plenty of oxygen even co2 is at high level. Down point is you need to top up your tank water frequently.

Finally found Otto in Fish Depot.

Super happy with this fish - had diatom/brown algae problem for past few months, first bought nerite snail, but for some reason won't go to glass, and very inactive. Probably sick 

Then bought siamese algae eater - I did mistake of not doing acclimatisation (my ph is low due to pressurised CO2) - they died overnight.

Then went and got 2 Ottos, did acclimatisation, left overnight, came back morning all my diatoms on glass cleaned!!! Happy happy happy!

So I rewarded them with shrimp wafer - hopefully they will like it since my tank almost cleaned now 

If you have Ottos what do you feed them? Blanched choy sum they can eat? 

p/s: can you see the baby guppies curious about the wafer? one of my guppies gave birth to 14 babies now have to start upgrading tank and separate sex

I growth dwarf hairgrass now, its been 3 months without co2 as well.
The growth rate doesnt slow nor fast.

Wanted to buy. Maybe not now if can last for 3 months only.

Any cheap and good tank to recommend? For small fishes like guppy, tetra and Danio. Thanks.

Btw, Sifus, do we really need to follow the above guideline? 10 gallons tank can have 10 small fishes only... It is also empty...

my is fish only planted tank. so far so good but recently no time to take care, touchwood still no sign of melting yet. lol

The tank located at the corner of my house, where it will get moderate sunlight, but I have my LED light on for 24x7, Non air-con room, and I am using HOB type.

  1 week++ after cleaning those leaf wif tooth brush, its come back again.....

so i should just on the LED 12 hour at night? or lesser?

I wanted to get the smallest catfish possible. My local shop sold me black color catfish. He told me itis the smallest already. Itis big. What is the smallest type actually?
