Any affordable dry cat food to recommend? I bought prodiet and really regret when opening it, full of vibrant color. Seeing those color really defeat the purpose whether they are using real fish or not.
Depending on how you defined affordable, you'll likely need to pay 3 times more than what you pay for prodiet. Just give you a heads up. LuQEE listed above some of the brand that you & your cat might like.
buy repack version of RC, blackwood, whare liebe, taste of wild, mera cats, evo ,etc some shops do sells them in RRP eventhough its already repack, but u need to rajin to search them.
Seems like hard to find those repack dry food.

If I could afford the premium one then it would be good. Maybe I go back to the old brand before I change to prodiet.
What is the reason you decided to changed from the old brand?
Many ppl say whiskas is bad for their health. I have tried cutiecatz, friskies for kitten chicken flavor (old packaging). None of them have this crazy food coloring. The prodiet I buy because its main ingredient is real fish, which i think should be good. But the coloring really give me a big slap.

for starters, you can try search them in cat boarding shops, grooming shops and even small-moderate cat accessories shop. You wont find them in typical supermarkets or franchise pet store chain.

I have feed my cats with prodiet dry food a couple of times before. All I can say my cats have good bowel movement with it. Whenever my cats have diarrhea, I feed them prodiet. It calm their digestive system right away.
Middle-grade cat food that is not really expensive that I know are Kiska & Visscay. Less colorful & slightly better ingredients. You might want to try them.

Isn't the food coloring abit extreme? is it safe to be consumed in long term?

I have never heard it is a bad thing. So far none of the articles I have read talk about coloring. I would believe if it was based on a proper research though.

Been lurking at this thread for awhile now... Glad to see so many cat lovers! Question, any body tried using the automated food dispenser for their cats? I am travelling so no one is around to feed the cats. Wondering if it is a good option.

I hope she get better soon. I never have experience with cat like this but I know how it feels when having asthma. Did the vet so far give you some kind of inhaler or something? Fluid in the lungs...that something else right, at least not regular asthma.

Sorry, I have never use one before. Even if you use automated food dispenser, you should at least ask your neighbor or friends to come & check out your cat even at least once a day is enough.

antibiotic tablet. The inhaler ask me buy from pharmacy. I feel that get 2nd opinion from different vet better. Would like to look for experienced in healing asthma.

Cat is kept outside the house so should be okay. Neighbour will keep a watchful eye on them

Yeah, you should get 2nd opinion. Especially the fluid in the lungs is not comfortable & painful that I have been told.
