QUOTE(myteam94 @ Sep 2 2017, 01:48 AM)
my cat havent been coming back home for two days and counting

i'm worried if he will ever be coming back...

my cat is an outdoor cat (previously indoor but now living outdoor)
currently live in residential area..so he always roaming around the house
but now he havent came back home
usually he will be back at night or early morning

is there a way/tricks/hacks to find him?

previously when he went out, i found him roaming around neighbours street
do share some method of finding him
*
Put his litterbox out, and I recommend keeping him indoors permanently. Indoor cats live orders of magnitude longer than in/out and outdoor cats. Average lifespan of outdoor cats is 3-4 years.

normally will come back, cos lapar need to makan, if not bek for days then trouble, cos got feeder feed he tumpang makan n joly else where, or sick, or kena accident , dog car liddat..

if ur house is considered a safe refuge for the cat, n he likes it, n he not in trouble, he sure will come back. esp those with street genes tht hv strong survival skills.

yea thats it bro,

not much choice but to wish for his safety,

cos he is already 1y++ then oni got neutered,

so he is experienced outdoor roaming cat for some time already.

now u can either put him indoor,

or cage him limited time, cage night, day time let out.

if he can accept a collar, can put those safety collar that will release when pulled, with reflective stripe.

not much use the collar, jz to let ppl noe this cat got a home to go back to..

and for cars to see him better at night...

Could you recommend me a vet that can do dental services for cat in Klang Valley area?

Any ones that I should avoid, any tips regarding feline dental health, etc very much appreciated.

for effective dental cleaning, the cat or dog needs to go for dental scaling using ultrasonic scaler.

normally this is under GA.

u can read this 2 articles if u like.

https://www.avdc.org/dentalscaling.html

http://www.wellpets.com/anesthesia-free-vet-dentistry/

most owners overlook the need to clean their dog cat's teeth, without realising that their furkid will
slowly suffer in silence once they have periodontal disease.

almost 20y ago, i used to believe that eating kibbles will clean their teeth, until aft 5 years, i was shocked to
discover that their teeth is full of tartar..

many vets in klang valley offer ultrasonic dental scaling. u need to call up to compare the prices.
the most expensive can agak frm animal hospital pekeliling tht wan la.

u can try to watsap drLoh frm preventicare to ask.

then aft that, u need to learn n practise daily dental cleaning for ur kitty.

ofcos it will be damn hard to clean cat teeth, i have done before i know.
unless u have a docile pedigree lap cat...

if u start with small kitten, they will get used to it and accept the procedure,
but i start with a 5yo late neutered kucing kg jantan, so can imagine how hard. ..

easiest way, u dont need a brush or anything, just cut a piece of cloth from baju tee...
like those kid uniform baju skolah or jasmani tee, oso can,

wrap ur index finger with the cloth, and stick the finger into side of cat mouth and slowly rub the molars facing outside of the mouth,

then repeat using left hand on the other side.

then u can smear the ubat gigi OROZYME by rhone ma, on the teeth, one tube is about RM 39.XX now.
so next time wait till pet world expo, got offer buy more.
another brand is by virbac.

ants will eat the poo, cos still got nutrition there,

throw cat poo on the grass after few days ants will help " break it down " faster

Thanks all for the interesting discussion on spaying and fleas.. I have my inputs. Unfortunately the unspayed stray mother just delivered 5 kittens last week after weeks of wondering whether it's pregnant or not. We're taking care but eventually should give out for adoption. Any takers in Penang? It's a mix of Khao Manee and black white bobcat. Thanks basilisk for the info and I will check out the vets.

Do nursing cats eat double as she seem to purr more often for food? I assume. Previously they eat when I fed twice a day. Now it seems they need more throughout the day. Anna one of the older kitten favourite of the mum also jealous and hiss at her mom and ignore like merajuk but now ok already. Funny behaviours really and I just don't have the time now but will eventually update my blogs.

My puppy have ticks and worry it transfers to the kittens as one of the kittens Elsa kept going to the puppy to explore. So far so good no ticks on the kitten.

Experienced folks, can kittens or puppy stand the class 4 poison shampoo? I worry and saw some Neem shampoo but unsure if it will work. Pet shop suggest a SureClean talcum product and it's only a day and the ticks are still alive and I've been prying off with my fingers. Also how to clean back the house? Headache..

Avoid using either drops or medicated shampoo for tick & flea, on kitten less than 12 weeks old & puppy. Either give them bath using dish soap or if you can find food grade diatomaceous earth (DE), dust the powder to their fur and on their skin. For the latter, the effect may take time.

Oh, btw, mother cat do eat more when nursing. Just feed her whenever she want. She need a lot of energy to take care her kittens. I always make sure the food bowl full at all times.

female kittens 6mths old or younger, can get in heat ya... it depends.. so if they are 2kg it is time to spay...

it helps if you request these groups in fb to post the " kittens for adoption " msg on their fb page/group

Hi,
My cats also have problem with fleas. I've been bitten by the fleas also.
Have put spot on and shampoo the cats but still have fleas. Sent for grooming also cannot remove the fleas.
Went bathing, i rinsed with salt water. 2nd time with apple cider but still not solved.
Last sunday sent them for grooming at another store but still found a few fleas and notice my cats still scratching.

I also did misting for my house.Done by the pest buster. Before misting, i've also put salt on the carpet and vacuum and also baking soda but still not solve.

Friends, any idea to solve this fleas problem?

Thanks.

I don't have experience with spot on but if it doesn't kill fleas then it doesn't work. I have found (one so far) anti-flea & ticks drops that doesn't work.

For bath, sometime you'll need to bath your cats a couple of times to completely get rid all of the fleas. Since you already bath your cat a couple of times, usually this means there's infestation of fleas in your house or wherever your cats like to hangout. Do pest buster specialized in killing fleas too? Probably not.

Vacuum, baking soda & Diatomaceous Earth (DE) require time to take effect when there's already infestation going on. They will work. They work great for preventing fleas infestation though.

Try different drops, e.g. advantage anti-flea drops.

Will try revolution on my cats in 4 weeks time.

The pest buster said that they can kill the fleas and they'll do 2 times misting. The next misting is this saturday. Hopefully can kill the fleas.
