I upgraded to R9 290 last time especially for mining lolz.
I ran it 24/7 overclocked for around 2-3 months, now still ok
Mining time dam syok, I think recouped over half the price of my card. So my card is actually cheap

By the way, switched my thermal paste to Prolimatech PK-3, it is really good. Ambient temp 30C and oced at 1150Mhz +100mV it maxed at 81C on Heaven.

CF a Tri-x 290 or single 290X Tri-X.
which would you guys go?

take it Tri-X 290 @ Rm800/each and 290X at RM1.5k.
dunno when 390X will came and 800 bucks for Tri-X is too attractive.

concerning point, will GTA V let me max with 290 CF @ 1440p.

Of course CF 290 better.
If CF works it's so much faster, if it didn't work then about 10% performance loss.

But 1.5k for 290 Tri-X is expensive.

rm1.5k for 290x tri-x is not worth it. 290 cf are much more faster than single 290x. just get the 290 and you can easily overclock it to 290x performance.

as per view net price after GST. and its Tri-x 290X. sorry if i write wrongly.

juz realize you running 290 CF. aint that a freaking 3 slot for each gpu?
ur rig is kinda similiar with mine in a way. except gpu part.
i guess i'll grab 1 290 first and another 1 later when Witcher 3 release.

my 290 cf are equipped with custom coolers.. so it becomes 2.5 slot gpu.. tri-x only take 2 slot.. still have headroom for cf config no prob. my experience so far with 290cf can maxed any game at 1080p (its kinda overkill for 1080p actually). but i think with your 1440p, a single 290 hard to maxed out all game especially the AAA one.. surely you need 290 CF

yeah. even 780ti have problem to max out. hence, the idea of CF came into my mind
