Based on the 2nd picture... It looks like a 380 rather than 390 for me. I think my eyes are getting blur.

impossible 2 fans.. AMD card must have at least 4 fans better cooling.

I've an R7 265 with 2 fans..never have gone over 71C.

the number after 'R' and '3' looks the same.. so definitely r9 390!

MSI doing a good job cooling 290X with two fans

mine hit max 74°c tomb raider. ultimate setting.

Not quite... my GPU has only 2 fans...

4 fans would make the card impossibly long, or the card would be generating one heck of a noise, due to smaller fans...

y AMD card need 4 fans to cool down? cant brain. its not like aftermarket cooler can't cool down the gpu.

Hey guys, im planning to upgrade to r9 280 (dual x OC) or maybe 280x tri-x one from sappire hd 7850 (dual x OC). The 7850 came out ages ago. And i think i shgould upgrade it since the r9's has good specs compared to 7850.


Would like to know if I should wait for newer cards or buy the r9 series now.
Im just asking opinion here, hope its alright .

IMO better wait for new gen.. going from 7850 to r9 280\280x (same tier with 7970) is not a really big upgrade. or look for 2nd hand r9 290\290x in garage sales.

yeah ud better wait for the newer gen gpus thats not a huge performance jump 7850 is basically a r9 270x if im not mistaken

Meh,Vapor-X for me.

That will make the cost of the card slightly more. In the future,if NVidia keep on making low power consumption but good performance cards and AMD follow that route,i doubt that that we need AIO cooling..unless you're using a vacuum as the GPU's cooler..

R7 265 is similar to HD7850,just slightly higher core and memory clock speeds,memory bandwidth and its TDP is 20W more of the HD7850.

R9 270X is like a HD7870 or HD7870GHz IINM.

XFX "HSBC" Edition

siao vacuum can cause electric static. i use cotton bud to clean the fan. better graphics sure draw more power. eg. look at titan x. so future confirm water cooling for those expensive cards.
