Guys, i just called to CS regards to my balance transfer amount. I applied for 3 months with 0 % interest, somehow the full amount appeared in my june statement, then i queried them, what CS told me HSBC wont practice to seperate the balance transfer into 3 months statement, as long as i pay the minimum then i will not being charge.. is that ture?
Also, since i have balance transfer in my hand, as long as i use my card on retail transactions, i have to immediately to pay on the next day, as finance charge will be impose.. as due to i have BT in myhand, so i dont have 20 free interest days. i was like what the hell? Can anyone confirm this?

Can anyone confirm this? The info provided by CS is correct. The BT behavior has been reported many timed here. I do not think anyone tried to use the card and pay on the day itself. It may or may not work, the CS who handle my case reminded me not to use the card as long as while the BT is still active, which I would suggest the same to you too.

Wow, luckily i just swapped RM20 this month. But during the time i applied BT, the fella nvr mentioned this to me, probably i will have to complain to Bank Negara if they impose the finance charges on my next bill.

I have tested that use-and-pay-on-the-same-day method, still finance charges incurred. So, DON'T USE AT ALL.

Hi guys, looking to apply for a HSBC credit card, the RM500 lazada voucher looks tempting. Whats the T n C for the voucher, must we spend more than RM500 in one transaction? or is like cash inside lazada's wallet? Thanks

Complain to bnm? Save your breath better. Adjust yourself to the various product t&c rather than complain without going anywhere

real case by my friend :
new card holder approved, and applied for 0% 3 months BT & 1.99% 6 months BT. and the agent did mention to her about the retail transaction during BT period, this one ok she clear about that.
comes to BT, she do BT 2k for 3 months, 4k for 6 months. she paid RM 1.3k per month. 3 months already up to now, but CS told her the installment will be settled the HIGHER BT 1st (so is settle the 4k 1st), at the end after 3 months, mean her 3 months BT have NO PAYMENT RECORD AT ALL, even she did paid. CS tell her either do early settlement or else the 2k will be charged 18% interest. CS never mentioned, should her complain?

It was quite some time ago, I can't recall how did the application went thru. Vaguely, there were some legal terms and conditions read out, in a way that you won't realize finance charnges will be imposed for spending during BT period. No point complaining to BNM, it's our fault for not comprehending fully their legal terms. But I've learned my lesson after being charged and called up CS to inquire.

I see a valid case for complaint.

Agree should complain on this case with the reason that this is not made known at the time of applying, and HSBC did not contact her if there is a '3 months no payment record' ?

Folks, wondered if anyone knows, but I plan to discontinue my HSBC credit cards, but I do have a 0% EPP (easy payment plan) amount still remaining in my credit cards which I service every month for 12 months. Question is, can I pay lump sum to clear those EPP amount, so that I can cancel those credit cards? Or am I forced to live out the remaining time left in the EPP? Thanks

Even Citi gives me 20K CL recently. Dont know why HSBC so stingy, didn't even activate straight cancel the card
