For the time being, I am using proxies to bypass the shaping. It seems to work well but the speed is not constant and is like a roller coaster ride. At least I am getting downloads from international peers unlike before using proxies when all international peers were blocked. This a much needed relief from all that crap shaping TMnut was doing. However I noticed that proxies only works on Utorrent but not on Azureus. Does anyone know why?
Anyway, I almost subscribed to relakks but decided to give proxies a try first and I am glad I did! |

I guess I'm gonna put my relakks subscription on hold then after all thats happened. Now that ST seemed to have banned Malaysia, woudn't we get a bad name or something?
QUOTE(blackamikaze @ Oct 6 2006, 08:43 PM) Yeah I think thats what I'm using. Check this out....![]() Speed doesn't seem too bad. I'm using 512kb package. Thanks for those who helped out. So I heard its advised to change proxies once in a while when you notice the speed seem to be always slow? QUOTE socks 4 - please make sure u set socks 4 not socks 5 or gttp proxy Hmmm....now we should use socks 4? This post has been edited by masterelr: Oct 6 2006, 09:54 PM |

Those interested in Relakks here is a good review of it:
http://sharemywifi.com/relakks/ I suggest though don't subscribe to it as I and a few other are having problems, and judging from my surfing their support service isn't too hot as some has taken a week to reply to problems. I hope not as I sent report to them on my 691 error |

Nope the up and down has probably nothing to do with throttling. It is just the proxies are not meant for torrenting, that's why it blocks connection at a regular interval, then later let's connection get established again.
That's why it is like a roller coaster. If it is throttling then I would not be able to establish a connection through and obtain max speed then. Currently idling at 60kb/s on proxy, perhaps it is the time to change, cant seem to hit 100+kb/s now. |
