I'm using http-tunnel. Google it.

Edit: It's not the same as relakks but sufficient for BT. IMHO, it's better than relakks. smile.gif

I've installed the http tunnel client.
is the configuration for all BT clients the same for proxy address and port? Can you share about your setting? notworthy.gif
Or are you using paid subscription?

Yup. The config is the same. localhost for proxy server and 1080 for port. You MUST subscribe, the free one is a low bandwidth server. You'll never get more than 1.5kB.

Edit: If you have nod32 AV, put http-tunnel in your exclusion list or the client will crash.

I just seem to have my old speed back too. I can reach max but not stable up and down like yo-yo on steriod. I going to wait a few day to see if its shaping is really off or not. They might just be changing their shaping hours. Like no shaping after office hours. Maybe ...

how reliable is ttorrent? any detailed info that you can provide? I hope the search and files aren't like newgroups cuz it's quite limited.

Off topic a bit, but dude, don't misunderstand.. the problem with piracy in Malaysia isn't with us trying to download a few American TV shows everyday. It comes from pirates profitting from piracy (your friendly neighbourhood VCD Seller, and MP3 cd seller), these guys are hurting the revenue of the MPAA and the RIAA directly.

So IMHO, throttling our bandwidth with something like the NetEnforcer is just a cheapass way for TMnet to make the best out of their current available bandwidth... instead of doing the proper thing, which would be upgrading.

Oh well, what to do.. when you live in a country where the only readily available broadband is monopolised by a government owned corporate giant.

Let's just hope that either something like wi-max or some other alternatives come soon.

Or for me, I just relakks... while I give TMnet the universal 1 finger salute.

(that's until something else goes wrong la... haha)

From my experience, if u use connection from the relaks.exe aka L2TP/IPSec protocol, it can give u fast dl but very not stable. always auto disconnect
if u using manual setup from control panel--> network connection--> create vpn aka PPTP protocol, u will get slow connection but very stable connection. seldom auto disconnect.

BTW can some one share to bt user how is the performance using http-tunnel
maybe will change to http-tunnel if performance is better than relakks
after my 1 month period subscription expired.

Hi again, I got a simple theory about escaping torrent shaping without tunneling. From my observation, what you need to do is
a) forward port below 1024 range, use port 25,80,88,110 just to be safe
b) decrease p2p connection timeout below 30 seconds, I'll set mine at 20 secs
c) do not use forced mode for BT encryption it will get you less peers, just leave it default. AFAIK the tc device is not capable of layer 7 deep packet inspection. Besides it doesn't make any difference protocol encryption or not, it control based on initiated connections count. When your connection hits the count limit, you'll get lame speed.

I'll try these settings for a few days & see how it goes.
