simple. but for some people is hard to do.

1)do not eat rice/noodle/bread. avoid all forms of carbohydrate.

2)do not eat sugar. avoid any sugar wherever possible.

3)eat more beef, chicken, and fish. the more the better.

4)sleep at least 6 hours a day

in 2 weeks i can guarantee you will lose weight. if not, i cut my finger i tell you.

I have 300g of carbs minimum a day and I am still loosing fats.

I have ice cream once a while and sugar laden satay is my weekly staple and I am still loosing fats.

Though protein is generally more satiating than carbs hence you have less craving for food, thus u eat less. Eating less than your TDEE makes you loose fats. Protein doesn't male you fat. Fats doesn't male you fat. Over eating makes you fat.

Sleep is important. I give that to you.

Carbs is not ur enemy. Over eating is. I loose 19kg in 9 weeks with all carbs diet. So not eating carbs make u loose fats is not the sole cause. It is a corelated cause. Go look into how macros works.

Cutting out Carbohydrates is one of the way for people to lose weight easily.

But do know this, in the end everything comes down to Calories In and Calories Out.

I think asking someone who just wanted to try out to lose weight from the start is to Reduce the Carbohydrates intake first, while focus to eat more on Vegetables and Lean Meat because they are lesser in Calories.

Moreover, avoiding Carbohydrates wouldn't help if the party still eating tons and tons of calories from other sources, which could be from Fats as well.

So I do think that counting calories should be a better way to help another person lose weight better, in a long term.

Woah, no need for the vulgarity I believe.

For one, the threads are here for a reason - information is plenty. Most people here do not encourage spoon feeding and its best for newbies to read through info on the board rather than throwing a stick saying they wanna lose weight and how to do it. Its way too lazy and easy, and most of the time it shows lack of determination, if any at all.

Your earlier advice is not right nor is it wrong. In my opinion, whatever works for each individual. However I would disagree on avoiding all carbs/ sugar. Yes they are "bad" when taken in excess but there's no need to restrict too tightly. Would be good to have cheat days or cheat meals. Otherwise a lot of these "diets" would not sustain for long.

I am an example of one who could not sustain a strict diet.
Every day is cheat day. I am on high carb and sweet stuff like cakes, chocolate, ice cream. BMI is normal but I have fat over muscles. Help me!

I've been trying to lose weight for the last month. Only lost about 2-3kg. I would say I am 20kg overweight.

All I've done so far is replace my rice and carbs with vegetables, but of equal volume unless im counting wrongly . Sitting at a desk 9-5.

Estimate calorie intake 1600kcal. (Usually I eat 3k)

Any suggestions?

Is exercise the main thing that I'm lacking (did 5 push ups = sore)

Or is there something else in my diet that I'm doing wrong? In particular, I still eat ALOT but it's mostly vege

Overeat or undereat?

I don't think we should be bothered to count daily. Just average in 3 days should be ok.

Other than substituting rice with vege, what else do you eat? Or its vege all 3 meals a day?

Yes, exercise is one major component you're lacking. 5 push ups is for you to get started, but mix your workout with lunges, weights, rope skipping, mountain climbers, crunches, planks etc.

Progress is what keeps you going. Do 5 push ups x 2 days, on the 3rd day, bring it up to 7. On 5th day, bring it up to 10. Build your metabolism and muscles, and with that it'll help you burn fats faster.

I was 135kg 6 months ago, now 115 kg with a lot more muscles. Height is 6 feet. What i did was:

1) Half my rice. I just can't get rid of my rice, just love it too much.
2) No sugar, only occasional chocolate.
3) Loads of protein. Huge chicken eater.
4) Exercise twice a day, total of at least one hour a day. Wake up immediately go jogging or elliptical machine. Get back from work, do calisthenics and weight lifting.
5) Instead of driving, i walk 5km everyday to and fro the train station. Well my fitbit says i regularly walk more than 8km a day.
6) Resist getting a girlfriend. Although losing weight has caught the attention of many many girls, I decided it would divert my attention away from my weight loss. Until I become less than 100kg, I won't get into a relationship.

I have to admit my dieting is not as impressive as others as I do still eat junk. But I'm not looking to get that cut look anyways, prefer the strongman or rugby player look. Gonna start replacing the calisthenics with gym after raya.

Perhaps you can try what bos. cuci bos. said.

Eliminate rice. You might lose more weight.

Workout twice a day means you did not push till drop.

You resist women? I won't.
