Is it New York 800 or New York 830?

Hi guys. Quick question. My Preve is at 101XX KM atm. 2nd service after 1K KM is when ya? 10K or 11K? 11K also can right?

1st : 1k
(+10k)
2nd : 11k
(+10k)
3rd : 21k
............................

First Service 1k, the next service depends on the oil you use during the first service. If you use semisyn oil, then the next service should be at 6k, if you use fullsyn oil then it will be at 11k.

Or you can just look at the sticker on the windshield when the next service is due.

My 2 cents here ..

Suggest to stick to the schedule in the booklet so as not invalidate the car warranty. I think even 1000 km over the stated km will get one into trouble. My plan is to get it done at about 1000 km BEFORE the stated km in the booklet.

The service sticker from service center will guide you for next service depending on what oil u requested/they had provided for you.
But usually they will put it as 10k, 20k .......
I think going accordingly to the sticker millage will secure you and your car from nonsense.

My second service at 10k (5months) they charge me labour fees, saying my free service had expired.

Yes, similarly I think it is not something to worry about. Just something that is not very "pleasant" when it does happen as you have a feeling it's a design flaw or something. Just thinking if the engine will not shut off by itself if the engineers had put in more thought into the issue. Perhaps the new revised 2015 model may not show this trait.

My SA told me that in the service booklet, it is at 10K KM. Mine is almost past 10200 KM atm but he said that it still ok (means covered by Proton SC). Anyway, I'll just bring my car to service this weekend.

BTW, Mutiara SC is still bad atm? How about Kelana Jaya SC?

I don't think there's any SC, no matter what car make and model that is very rigid on the mileage.

u may need to practice the manual driving method - handbrake + gentle throttle, then slowly release handbrake in steep slope.
