My 2 cents,

1. Why not try other bank if those few "famous" one giving u high interest rate? I got my loan from Kuwait, 2.65%.
Was working for 4months and when i decided to get my car, i change my job.
The process takes slightly longer because they doubt me capabilities because i just shifted to another new jobs.

2. Get the car colour that you want, DON'T let in because your SA threaten you, You gonna face your car daily basis for the next at least say 5years? Stand your position!

3. Just installed reverse camera. Called up WeCare to ask for advise on reverse camera and was surprise that the customer care lady named "Sharifah" i think, explain that to me : -
"plug and play" - means Preve premium has the socket ready at original HU.
Reverse camera CONFIRMED NEED TO TAP WIRE so warranty for wiring is VOID.

Reason : There is wire tap on our reverse light, when it is light on (Reverse Gear), it trigger the reverse camera therefore it shows at ur HU.
I survey quite a number of shops and found one that told me the same story as Sharifah, so the shop got my business. Honest guy with good handy workmanship.
No tapping wire for installing reverse camera is bullshits. But i tak boleh tahan i cannot see behind when i reverse parking!

It's a combination of both, and more factors.

When I applied for my car, within one week three banks called me to tell my load was approved (ultimately went for Public Bank as their interest was the lowest).

Similarly, when purchasing my City, two was approved and one application took longer time (more than a week) for them to call and tell the loan had been approved.

I believe your repayment capability is one of the most important factors.
*
Agree. They will look your age and financial capability.
*maybe that slower bank got more loan to look at while the faster bank got lesser or just by luck process his loan first? lol hmm.gif

Hi sifus, notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif
If you could help me on the below :

1. Door Visor. Looking for a adequate door visor, been seeing venttex all around and saw some "Mugen" type, whats the diff eh? Price diff quite a lot.

2. Car Coating. Looking for car coating places around setapak, anyone to recommend? Or anywhere KL which is trusted. Parked my car in a building with my own parking, unlucky its beside walkway and it got small scratches quite often, assuming those ppl cant walk in between walkways. zz.

3. Headlamp "coating"? One mechanic told me should coat headlamp when it's new to prevent the headlamp plastic to seems like cracking. tempted to do it and they charged 80bucks for only headlamps. Is the price range normal? I think they stick some sticker on it, and it turns a bit darker in colour. hmm.gif

Thanks in advance for answering! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Hi guys. Quick question. My Preve is at 101XX KM atm. 2nd service after 1K KM is when ya? 10K or 11K? 11K also can right?
*
The service sticker from service center will guide you for next service depending on what oil u requested/they had provided for you.
But usually they will put it as 10k, 20k .......
I think going accordingly to the sticker millage will secure you and your car from nonsense.

Guys!
Be sure you look at their invoice!
My second service at 10k (5months) they charge me labour fees, saying my free service had expired. shakehead.gif

Hi

Mine didnt comes with Remote. Asked the Customer Service and they said only Exora comes with it. Also, both the USB and the AUX In in the centre console is not working. No sound when plugged into my iPod.

So, is the HU Blaupunkt New York 800 or 830?

Just got my new preve cfe with new HU,  also found out that the USB 2 is not working
*
Kindly inform your service centre asap.. Give them a heads up on this issue.
I found out my car plug not working for front and back, the "cigarette lighter" thingy after first service.

Went back on second service, they charge me for that. Saying fius terbakar sebab charge too long. "padahal tak pernah guna pun". But its Rm10 so i din create a fuss on that.. shakehead.gif

Are you sure about that? Mineral oil is usually used for a service interval of 5,000-6,000km for any cars.

Proton used to permit users to use the lowest grade of engine oil for the Preve Turbo, which is the semi-synthetic Synthium 800 sometime in 2013. In early 2014, they do not recommend Synthium 800 for the Preve Turbo anymore, stating that after a research they found that Synthium 800 is not too suitable for the Preve Turbo's engine. Hence they now recommend the full-synthetic Synthium 1000 as a minimum for the Preve Turbo for a service interval of 10,000km.
*
If so, i think i kena con by SC dy.
I asked for fully syn EO for my first service months ago, they put in syn800 (Claiming it is full syn) and charge me more.
Last 2 weeks i insist i want syn 1k only they do that for me.

May i ask which type and cost of EO of most CFE owner are using?

thanks.

My 30,000km service costs me RM502 and after making numerous inquiries and follow-up with the Customer Service on this matter since last month and until today they have not given me a satisfactory answer on this matter.

For the Preve Turbo, from what I was told the Synthium 1000 is minimum standard, and the Synthium 3000 and 5000 are optional at a higher cost.
*
Hmmph..
My SC follow up also slow, they charge me labour even-though it's my second service at 10k.
I main chillax with the SA cause he is friendly so i gave him some time to settle this for me (3weeks already, still waiting). lol

First service i asked for fully syn, they pour in syn800 and told me is full syn. shakehead.gif
Second service i requested for only syn1000. they charge me rm200.

As far as i know, my bro korean car at 1.6 also, they pour in syn5000 for their free service.
I would want a better EO for my usage. Syn3000 is it sufficient? 70%city30%highways.

Hi Preve Users/Experts,

Would like to ask regarding the Turbo 1.6 Preve.
With the huge discounts, worth to get that or the ordinary executive?
Anyone has bought the turbo for 6months-1 year in 2014 mind to share the downside?
Also, mind to share the fc for both?

Sorry the thread is just too long. Hope those who are free could help to shed some valuable point.

Tq. =)

Been driving turbo for half a year, so far im enjoying and appreciate it. rclxms.gif

Downside for me : -
1. Radio reception not so good (using spotify all the way).
2. Like everyone, parking is an issue sometimes. you manage to park, but hard to get down from car. LoL! some other people parking skills might not as good as us whom park properly.. rolleyes.gif
3. Installed reverse camera, i really cant predict distance without the camera.

Upside : -
1. Highway drive thumbup.gif
2. I appreciate the extra airbags.
3. Comfort ride daily, i will try avoid city traffic and got average 8.6l - 9.0l/100km weekly.

Like others says, what you pay is what you get. Good stuff for this price range!
I rmb i saw someone jokes saying " enjoy the engine sounds, the roaring sounds, thats what the European likes on their car!".
Overall im satisfy, maybe the one i have is 2014 car, therefore there is improvementss. thumbup.gif

Perhaps the sound from your seat is the same sound I am experiencing in my car. If you move your back politely you won't hear the sound. Only when you press your body more firmly onto the seat when you position your body then only you will hear the sound. Also, when your car goes over speed bumps and your body will tend to move and rub against the back seat, and you will then hear this sound.

I believe there are many complaints on this "defective" seat already as the last time I visited the Proton service centre in COSE, those guys over there knew about this seat that is producing "noises" when I mentioned defective seat. Even the manager. Also, the driver's seat is low on stock , probably due to large number of complaints on the defective seat and the new seats are on the waiting list to be installed onto the affected vehicles. It's almost 3 months already since the seat for my car was ordered but until now they have not called me to inform on the availability of the seat(so that I can go to the service centre to have the defective seat swapped out with a new one).
*
Will request for change of seat on the service, Can i call up and request for the seat first or they MUST see the seat before they place their order for replacement?
Heard about when they change, they change the whole set, or only the driver seat?

It's been 2 months since my last service, where they charge me labour when im entitle for free service.
No news came back from them.
It's just Rm50, but this shows their follow up....... yawn.gif

I think it gonna be endless if u keep claiming. Why not trying to spray some wd40 or any silicon spray to stop the sound?

I use to spray metal bracket behind of the seat to stop the damn noise after my new claim of seat. Now no more issue for front seat. Just rear got very poor appearance which need to claim in the next service. After your warrany end, replace with leather seat better.
*
I did check and the sound actually came from right behind backbone area when seated.

A noobie Question : Is it complicated inside the seat? As in when open the seat cover to spray, is it hard to put it back??

Hi All,

Anyone did update the map by yourself using "Lookatoo"?

I'm curious if the "Request for License Key" process is the buying process?

Or is this update free of charge?

Terima kasih!
