Since we are talking about engine, I would like to share my experience too.

Got few times when I'm driving, the pedals (brake and accelerate) seems 'disconnected' and unresponsive.  Worse timing happened when I'm cruising at 80 KM/H in a heavy rain on a highway heading to Kuantan, luckily it's for a very short time and there's no car infront of me.

p/s: the engine doesn't stall, just the pedal unresponsive.

Nope. I would never set it to S especially during the rain unless if I want to overtake.

From Iriz, Preve & Suprima FB. There are a few guys who work with hire purchase loans. Approval rate of loans from Proton loans of RM60k and above is only 50%.

As I said, there was one guy in Suprima FB who had his loan for City V spec approved. Whilst his loan for Suprima was pending. The bank requested many documents, basically making it hard to approve the loan, short of getting a guarantor. His loan for the City on the other hand was a breeze. Give all the usual documents, in 1 week his loan was approved.

Because the percentage of defaulter is higher for national cars. Banks do it based on the historical data. They don't do it out of the blue. It makes sense when you consider those who buy Kancil, Viva, Myvi, Saga etc. Many of the defaulters are fresh grads just gotten a job. Those who have worked for some while, have a stable income tend to go for non-national cars (upgrading from their national cars), hence their default rate is lower.

Got my car this afternoon. Gonna name it black panther haha. Anyways was quite fast from loan application   to delivery. Started the process last monday. Minus   weekends and public   holiday it took 5 days from start to finish. Got 2.86% 7 years loan from Affin bank. I think  thats  the lowest interest considering I'm   fresh graduate.  (They was offering 2.8 for full loan  9 years).

So far a few minor problems. Front bumper  got one small white line. Rear seat not locking on one side. And the seat belt buckles for rear seat is not visible. Fit and finish.... typical proton  standard  but not complaining too much. Hope no major suprises after this.

Went  to the service  centre  in kuching today to rectify  a few problems. Asked the technician about gps, he told me tp update they have to send the sd card to KL. When i asked  about the cost he said it's free but will take  some time. Because i relocating soon i didn't  send the sd card yet and they told me i can send through the service  centre in my new location  later.

Is this a new policy by proton? Cause as far as I've  read here. Gps updates  cost quite a bit

Yea, u can remap the ECU/TCU in SC.

Its like update ur PC or handphone. It change the way ecu control the throttle, engine response.
New car usually already come with latest software, but no harm to try.

Its selling here for about Rm 18. A quick google on the product  popped up one major worry. It seems it can cause the wiper to judder. Someone  on lowyat  forum was even asking how to remove it. Is wiper judder common due to rain x use and is it really  that bad? Any better alternatives?

I don't think the warranty extends to second hand buyer (correct me if I'm wrong). If they no longer cover the warranty, you should be able to find better service and price at workshop of your choice.

Hi, just got my Exec version today. Drove around and feels great. Does anyone know where I can install window visors in Petaling Jaya and how much does it cost? Also, I've been reading a lot in the forum on installing a reverse camera voids the warranty. Was wondering if Proton Service center's sell and can they install both visor and reverse camera to prevent void of warranty?

yeah, i was informed about that promo too but i hesitated and also waiting for the reply from bank for the loan until i fed up so decide not to buy. but i don't think i can live with soft lilac la  my friend paid cash i guess that's why it was fast

sometimes i start my car , hit brake pedal then change to gear R after that only release hand brake then followed by foot brake. got knocking sound like the rear brake didn't release properly
