QUOTE(sonerin @ Dec 22 2015, 08:59 PM) Hopefully is distributor with reasonable and with logical business mind-set, rather than some distributors that were/are too greedy with crazy margin like double the price. There are business owners who think can sweet talk everyone with confusing explanations. But with today Internet era, things are different now. Do not assume consumers or publics are idiots that can be easily fooled.Distributor loosing money is small thing due to stupid and greedy strategy. But if spoilt local consumer or Marantz fans appetite will be big no-no. The HQ should do something quick if something bad happen. |

Hi, I have an older model CD-46 CD player which dates back from 1997. It's the bottom end basic player of it's days but I'm very satisfied with it. But I'm giving up on it because the laser always fails and although replacements are cheap, they are not really reliable. I've changed four times to date.
So my question is, will a modern entry model be as good as the CD-46? I'm deciding between giving the laser one last chance or changing the player altogether. Thanks! |

But I'm giving up on it because the laser always fails and although replacements are cheap, they are not really reliable. I've changed four times to date. Do consider to get NA6005 or NA8005 rather than CD player. I found CD player always has laser weakening, tray loading issue after few years. Not to mention CD need spinning time...So my question is, will a modern entry model be as good as the CD-46? I'm deciding between giving the laser one last chance or changing the player altogether. Thanks! Welcome to the new world with fully static devices... It can play from network sources, internet and even USB. And it should last much longer. Heh... it also act as DAC Now the question is.... NA6005 or NA8005??? NA6005 + FM Tuner. Wonder if Malaysia radio channel is good enough? Who listen to FM radio at home? + Dual Wifi/Bluetooth Antenna. It really ease the system placement. But again, USB storage can help in tricky places. + Fantastic sound quality from the review I read... But I yet to audit it... - DAC function only accept optical in. To me it mean as good as no digital input... I think Marantz purposely created this huge limitation to give consumer reason to buy higher end version NA8005 + DAC functionalities are full -> Optical, coaxis and even USB + PSU are shielded. I assume less noise to the analogue circuit? + I like the SA8005 sound over CD6005. Wonder if same thing to NA8005 vs NA6005. - No Wifi nor Bluetooth. It also mean if the RJ45 LAN port and function spoilt in the future, the network function is as good as dead. Imagine after 4 years spoilt and no more replacement part. - No FM Tuner. Not sure if important. - No toroidal transformer. It is the only device from this series. - No balanced output at this price. IMO, NA6005 will be a great company to PM6005. It is because the only weakness I can found from NA6005 is missing coaxis digltal input, where the PM6005 compliment it perfectly. And naturally NA8005 is meant to be paired with PM8005 where PM8005 has no DAC. And NA8005 has full DAC function, which is exactly what the PM8005 missing. Value for money wise... or for those want to run their system for many years, I will vote for PM6005 + NA6005 combo. It is because both has DAC and act as kind of redundancy. If any DAC spoilt, the other can take over. Or LAN port spoilt, can use Wifi. What do you think? This post has been edited by chanhin: Jan 7 2016, 12:39 AM |
