Integrated amp you can always buy from overseas that have same voltage to us.
Setback is no warranty but why worry? Such amp should not have complicated circuit board.

PM7005 has more juice for floor stander  thumbup.gif
That's what I hate about local priced PM8005. Since PM6005 price is okay, I assume the PM8005 price issue is due to greedy distributor.

Agree... Simple stereo can last for 10 years or more...  biggrin.gif

Btw, anyone tried MM7025 poweramp with 140watt power? What's the price? Good?

I have to admit PM6005 is slight underpower for floorstander like Q700. And the MM7025 with 140 watt will allow it to pair with virtually any speakers, even up to RM50k (in term of power  tongue.gif )

Still stopped at AV amps, no time for integrated amps yet.

Thinking of getting whathifi 5-star rating cable - QED XT40.

No idea where to get them though... Any local hifi shops have stock for this cable?

Also in your opinion - what is the best speaker for PM6005 to drive?
*
Looks more like over price speaker wire for me.
Belden are making decent speaker wires, can try them.

usually join bulk, a bit difficult to buy loose cut from shop

Can always start a group buy thumbup.gif
ICE in Jalan Pasar are selling loose cuts, as far as I know. They are selling heat shrink tubings also.
Anyway, nowadays wire are freaking expensive, don't care you buy in bulk or loose cuts. Like the same Belden I bought few years back for rm500, now need rm700 for it doh.gif

Monster cable is totally over price. Price does not make the cable more premium. It's just entry level cables

The quality ar so so only.
Last time I buy from Ebay, very cheap if compare to local shops selling.

the other 2 choices are stereo, virtual.

hiss noise start to appear at -16db onwards.
audyssey cannot be enable

You should know that : too many cook spoil the soup whistling.gif
Using AVR for stereo are good, if tight on budget sweat.gif
But if you want to listen stereo, still integrated amp the only way thumbup.gif

Then again cheap int amp might not beat a very good AVR in stereo still. So still need some investment.

I missed the boat, it was selling like hot cake that time, I think is 3-4 years back.
But it was entry level, still worth a try I would say(if given a chance to buy again).
Then strip the fellow out and change the components inside thumbup.gif

Before engaging this guy, I'll go to Desa HT first, their price so far are the lowest compare to other shops(Amcorp Mall). But you can't choose the current models as it will be expensive sweat.gif

Well, that's the beauty when you are buying raw drivers and DIY thumbup.gif
That speaker only cost me rm200. But it is a fullrange driver which I intend to change it to other speakers.
For the time being, I'm using some wood plank to support the basket and magnet from coming out and it works icon_rolleyes.gif

I have an old Marantz SR6004 which is a AV receiver and in the midst of replacing my Mordaunt Short Carnival speakers with B&W PM1. Just wonder whether the AV receiver is good enough or should invest in a proper stereo amp.

Appreciate feedback.

PM-5004 only selling for rm899 in Desa HT in Lowyat, may give a try there. They are clearing old stocks currently.
But don't ask me is it cheap or not tongue.gif

IMO, PM5004 is not really good. Thus not for value as well. And I think Marantz should not have this 5 series in the first place.

PM6004 and PM6005 are way much better than PM5004. These are great for bookself speakers, and not too bad for some floor stander such as Q700.

If willing to buy from oversea, then surely PM8005  thumbup.gif
*
That's why they are willing to "dump" it at cheap price.
Still, if were to use AVR to play song, this amp should be half step better, right?
And don't flame me on this, as I found this on Thestar paper. Desa HT are always doing cheap price offers every now and then. Even the Yamaha soundbars you can get it at rm1000.

PM5004 compare to AVR? Yes... Better.. But not good enought as minimum audiophile requrement.  tongue.gif
I do not like the headphone output quality when paired with HD650. It is like... Nothing interesting.
*
For sure , if not why they are selling it out at that bloody price?
Like Yamaha integrated amp and CD player, I've hear the entry level and high end series, even using a pariah speakers also that high end will make a huge difference icon_rolleyes.gif

You need more juice also, so the power output are also important.
