QUOTE(chanhin @ Dec 11 2014, 11:32 PM) it is a fantastic amp. But too bad local distributor and seller purposely mark up unreasonable margins due to greed. So you bought your marantz from sg? Any custom tax when bringing it here? Or you got tactic In HK, Singapore etc, it is only about RM3.5k (as Malaysia ringgit dropping), but local shops want to sell more than RM5k. Something like Rm5.5k. They are practising UXXX style. Suka you beli, tak suka go away. IMO, I will never support these greedy business culture and will insist to say no. QUOTE(chanhin @ Mar 18 2015, 10:53 PM) I was not a cable believer... But when I had tried Monster Cable M2.4s with my PM6005 on KEF Q700, WOW... Impressive... It changed the sound signatures into like another system.. Like sweeter, smoother, finer... The cable is like performing sound polishing... And it also sound like I had just upgraded to high end DAC with that kind of signature. Wow... what was your cable size previously? Then my 2nd stereo system with PM6005, initially with cheapo Monster cable... ok la... Later cannot tahan the ordinary sound and also upgrade to monster M2.4s with Tannoy E11. Again, the sound signature all polished... But my system improvement with E11 is not that obvious as Q700. I suspect is due to Q700 better high freq response that can more potential. Now back to technical explanation.... Technically I think the M2.4S cables have different freq response as to compare normal cables... Where the high freq improved a lot. But I cannot explain other findings such as smoother and sweeter sound... Just Wow... QUOTE(ktek @ Mar 22 2015, 10:55 AM) I just tried the headphone port on avr. Not good unless change to direct /pure direct listening mode. you don't need audyssey because there's nothing to correct for (no room interference).the other 2 choices are stereo, virtual. hiss noise start to appear at -16db onwards. audyssey cannot be enable |

QUOTE(chanhin @ Mar 23 2015, 10:40 PM) last time small small, now big big... about one inch thick now. Since bi-wire, 2x one inch thick. Quality to me is good enough as begineer. Then you're doing a wrong comparison. You should compare cap ayam 12awg cable vs monster 12awg cable. You should measure the core size, true cable awg, excluding the jacket/insulation. |

QUOTE(chanhin @ Mar 25 2015, 05:38 AM) Yes of course with the ori spikes and feet... But I never see it myself... Hard to believe.. Google search on Q700 weight ~17kg... that is consider light, but your baby seems strong. Healthy baby.I always love to have a Q900 for its powerful and engaging sound. Anyone selling their Q900? Once have Q900, next problem will be... PM6005 enough for Q900? Hahaha... Everyone know the answer There's always PM8005 for you to upgrade to. |

although coax and optical are both digital, it has been tested many times that they can sound different.

QUOTE(ktek @ Jul 20 2016, 10:50 PM) i got pm and sr series. no nr but can estimate the result. Try running a 100db/w speakers. It will cruise along. Weak is relative. Anyway, best is to get a dedicated power amp for those demanding channels.becos avr shared power from single transformer, my previous sr5006 is quite weak to run 7.1 properly. |

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Nov 8 2016, 02:23 AM) I plan to purchase the SR5011, is it worth to top up around 500 for the SR6010? SR6011 is a bit steep at around 1.1k from d 5011. I'm running on Q Acoustics 3020 n 3090c as mid, Klipsch R-112SW . peak power at 75w iirc. Currently with 5.1 setup. will move on to 7.1 setup in future do note that SR6011 support 7.1.4 processing. SR5011 is limited to .2 heights.Any significant performance or SQ difference between 5 and 6 series? |
