you know, after i got rid of my LD2+ only i notice how bad the synergy was when paired with the K701. It was really bad i tell'ya. Bass is definitely better than my 0404, but imaging and details were lost greatly. Soundstage is a tad smaller on the LD2+ too. Even though my 0404 can't drive my K701 up to my usual listening level, i can tell you honestly: i prefer the 0404 over my LD2+.

Silly me for making the conclusion that the LD2+ pairs well with K701 last time. The cv4015s offer more refined sound but i still prefer the 0404. As for my next amp, most probably i'll be making my payment by tomorrow or next week. Thanks for the offer anyway

Glad that you figured that out. Sometimes you just gotta try more stuff to know where your stuff stand.

I didn't try out any new amps. My K701 hit the 500 hour mark and i did a comparison between my SR80 and K701. The differences are subtle, and my girlfriend says the SR80 is better.

Then i ask myself: "Doh, wth a 1.4k flagship headphone will lose to a entry-level Grado that is 1k cheaper?"

And i tell myself: "Must be that darn amp of mine"

heck, that LD2+ is with me now and i still wanna sell it off

sorry i'm not going for the Darkvoice. Just made up my mind and i'll be getting the Heed Audio CanAmp. Waiting for Mr. Alpar to send me the proform.

I think i'll give China stuff a pass for now. Want to try solid state amps for the first time in my life.

In my opinion i would go for the 336i if i were to get any of Darkvoice. The 6SN7 is a famous audiophile tube, and its substitutes may range from USD 7 to USD 200, especially for those NOS Tung-Sol, RCA etc. The 332 uses the same power tubes as the LD2++, and the preamp tubes are not easy to get substitutes as well.

Try to avoid getting your Darkvoice from our local distributor (you know who) as his price is very steep. DV 332 inclusive of shipping is RMB 3200, convert to RM will be around RM1450. Tax of around 25% and you'll end up paying an additional RM300 or so. Our local distributor is selling for RM2300
