QUOTE(ckmoy007 @ Jan 21 2009, 12:55 AM)
i assume dat u r going to setup ur system 4 going loud, would recommend u to use the 4 channel for front and rear, and get another monoblock or 2ch amp for ur sub.

One single 4-ohm voice coil sub
The right type of amp to use
This is a perfect place for a two-channel amp. By bridging the output of the amp, you'll get lots of power for a relatively low cost. Avoid using a mono amp here - they work best at a lower impedance than 4 ohms.
ckmoy007,
Just need some clarification, as per advise by KidsCode, it says mono amp not suitable with One single 4-ohm voice coil sub. Is it true? if yes I need to change plan liao. biggrin.gif

no la, it's just about power matching. meaning like a 2ch amp (2x100w rms @ 4ohm, 2x200w @ 2ohm), when bridged might get example, 400w rms @ 4ohm. while a monoblock, take an example, DLS Ultimate A6, it produces ~500w rms@4ohm, 780@2ohm and 1200@1ohm. i think in most cases, a 2ch amp will be cheaper than a monoblock, see the logic there? 2ch to power a single voice coil @ 4 ohm is a cheaper way, not to say monoblock can't do the job. just that monoblock is designed to handle low ohm and more power, so ppl might think it's a waste to use a monoblock @ 4ohm.

sound produced might be different, 2ch is class AB while monoblock are mostly class D, altho some are class AB like DLS A6. some says there are noticeable difference in SQ, provided if u have a gud system, or else u will onli hear bass and no difference. if u r using entry lvl setup, a 2ch will be sufficient for a SVC 4ohm sub.

Hi Sifu, I'm planning to get a component set whic are rated at 60W RMS @ 4 ohms and an Amp which is rated at 4 x 65W @ 4 ohms.

Please advise whether the amp's power is enough for the component set.

How if I get a component set rate at 120 RMS and bridge the amp's 4 channels to 2 channels to power this?

I try to get these items in this forum, I think it should be ori. However, I will try to study more before COD.

I'll be appreciate if sifu here can give some advise how to recognise the ori.

bro...

no 2 here can guarantee items sold by forummer is ori... so as the forummer here also it won't if it's ori o not.. if u reli reli reli interested to get a good n ori pair, highly suggest u go to a reputable ICE shop... they are experienced and by juz touching de cone, they'll know...

fyi, there are a few brands which is localized produced good SQ speakers... they sound better than those entry level branded stuff and some even get good comment for ICE competition... but the onli problem that u may face is that u can't accept the brand and also de design... juz like me.. hahaha biggrin.gif

i was choosing between this brand named (new)PEGASUS and (used)DYNAUDIO... PEGASUS has better quality interms of sound and DYNAUDIO was so so bcz lack of mid bass.. in de end, i choose DYNAUDIO bcz the name of DYNAUDIO which i dream since i was in high school... hahaha biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Dynaudio lacks of midbass? seems like it's ur amp or installation problem? shud be able to play from 60Hz without any problem.

wanna ask (as i m newbie in ICE)
i read the diagram
all the diagram showing that there is only one set of component

if i installed one set at the front

so

how about the rear??
put it empty??
or wat to put in??

is it possible a 2 channel amp can power 2 set component???
actually i plan to install 2 sets component
but some one saying u will hear 2 sound

u can put the pairs of component... but scared ur 2 channel amp tak power...

so better get a 4 channel amp to handle 2 sets of components...

if ur rear speakers aren't power hungry and still u want some sound for the rear passengers, u may wanna think to power it ur headunit..

SQ wise, it's not advisable to put a speaker at the rear cos it will disturb the front's imaging. unless u can tune the rear speakers to a level where it's not audible to the front then ok.

ok thanks for the advice

currently wat i have is
1. mohawk 2 ch amp donno wat model i think is 700.2 some thing like this (to push 10" woofer x 2)
2. mohawk 6" x 9" 3 way speaker
3. pioner HU donno wat model already (last time buy at RM 500++)
4. 2nos of 10" mohawk woofer

now i had changed car and wanna put it in

how should i set it up???
because i only have lowbudget for ICE

actually wat i plan is (plan A)
1. the old amp used to push one 10" woofer (one is enough for me the other one take out - change box)
2. 2 new lowbudget component sets (about RM300 a set)
3. one new 4 chanel amp to push 2 new component sets

(Plan B)
1.the old amp used to push one 10" woofer (one is enough for me the other one take out - change box)
2. 1 new component set for front (about RM300 a set)
3. old 6" x 9" speaker for rear (plant to cut off the tweeter - remain the bass sound enough)
4. A 4 or 2 ch amp for the component set and 6" x 9" speaker

i think the plan B is cheaper

my suggestion plan C:
1.the old amp used to push one 10" woofer (one is enough for me the other one take out - change box)
2.1 used comp set around RM500
3.rear leave empty or use HU to power stock speaker. if put 6x9 will cancel off the bass of ur woofer.
4.a used ~RM500 2 channel amp for the front.
5.sell off 1 of the woofer and the 6x9 to get more money for ur project.

last question, wats ur preference? SQ or SPL? and ur total budget is?
