would not recommend phoenix gold...nothing to shout about

if i were u...remain on passive
do tuning first....and check through all installation...
if really kenot then only think about upgrading amps...

my recommendation is to go at least Genesis, Audio System or Steg
of coz PHD, Celestra, Brax and etc etc would be even better

i got jalan for Celestra is u wan any...
Italian handcrafted....really clean and smooth amp

use a amp with a high level input (save budget) or get something like jl cleansweep or rockford 3sixty or audiocontrol lc6/8 which will cost u more than 2k...dun ever use a hi-lo converter sold in acc shop..they are crap...lolz...but for budget wise, it's the cheapest solution for adding amp...

for ur budget of 1.5k, u can get a set of component spk first..then slowly add in other items

can contact me for info if u wish to

bro...sorry to say u wont achieve much bcoz HU lack of power to drive speakers properly.

you can try out the Vifa speakers that has built in amps...that will save space!

ello ICE sifus,

ok. ive been asking around alot for help in ICE. Tried readin the post, but still dun understand bout ICE.

my knowledge in ICE equals to my knowledge in addmaths(zero). I was thinkin of installing an ICE in my car. But i dunno which shop to trust, wat brand to choose, wat to ask, wat to expect, market price etc etc.

So, was hoping u guys can help me in choosing the brands and shop i should go, wat i should install and etc based on my following preference.

1) Budget less than RM1000 (not planning to go hardcore, just wanna put somethin that sounds better than my current myvi stock speakers)

2) Must be reliable and long lasting (dun want no china stuffs, rather pay for wat i get, but not too much, like a mid range brand would be sufficient)

3) Regarding woofer, and amps or channels and etc etc. Nothing fancy/expensive/big woofers, just simple and nice.

4) Also, Was wondering, my brother has this bigass woofer(with 2 speakers), is there anyway i can connect it to my new ICE?

Would appreciate ur help dearly. Have been askin Myvi Forum, they just ask me follow them go install. Aih, dunno wat they wanna install also.
Hope u can enlighten me.

Thx so much! Teh Tarik on me!

Actually, get a cheap amp, cheap speaker and most important is better than your Myvi stock speaker. Is worth to get it. Besides not everyone are rich to spent more than their budget range and not everyone wanted pure high quality sound system.

Why will there be lower end version of sound system in the market? Is meant to enjoyed by everyone who is seeking a better system than stock does.

Here is my point of view for your Myvi system.

1. 4" 2 way speaker from Soundstream Xstream model roughly rm 150 to rm 200

2. 12" subwoofer range from rm 300 to rm 350. branded like JL Audio, Soundstream,

3. electronic crossover 3 way RM 200 to rm 250

4. wiring kit, 2 pairs of rca cable, fuse box, amp power cabling RM 150

5. Caliber Ca-5000 4 channel Amp get from auction roughly RM 300 ++

Your system should at least better than stock rather commented being sounded like shit. doh.gif

almost everything in the market is better than myvi stock speaker. if you not much expectation you can install the 4" 2way speaker and use back ur stock HU. that pegasus i post before do not require much power to run so it is good for stock hu.

1. you can get better than soundstream for that price. i highly recomend pegasus PG425, this is the best money can buy for the price
http://amerion.com.my/items.asp?model=PG425

2. JL authorise reseller personally told me there is no such thing as RM300 JL woofer, all is fake. soundstream avoid it like plague, most probably fake.

3. no need exover la. maybe a preamp will be good

is advisable to seek ICE shop for installation. You need to know how to remove the front dashboard speaker grill to replace the 4" speaker.

More ideal would be installing a component speaker for your front sound speaker. Get a component set with tweeter and crossover. Size will be 6.5" to enjoy good music because 4" 2 way and 6.5" component set is not much different in price. Install the tweeter in your 4" speaker space while the 6.5" mid bass at your door with custom made speaker bracket.

Then you won't felt shitty sound system as the high (voice) can hear singing in front of you while the mid at your side. But this setup is more like a sound staging.

hello sifu here.

I am noobie in ICE
I just installing some ICE after persuaded by the sales person, dunno good or not.
Can give me some opinion of my setup?

Case 1
Current setting
HU -Sony HV cdx-GT470ub
Front panel - Macrom 6" M3S.61 (with tweeter)
Car - Saga

the sales person ask me to forget about the rear speaker and go for amp. and sub-woofer.
Besides this , my relative agree to give me the old set of amp and sub.
Not many I knoe before i get the thing at next tuesday.
what I know is as below:-

1 sub-woofer dual
2 pcs amp...brand , channel and power still dunno
1 crossover

Case 2
my question is here, if I installing these ICE do I need install crossover as well coz my HU already have the preout for sub and low,mid and high?

I already ask the sales person,he agreed to install the amp for me.
He said need 2 set of amp wire , 2 set of speaker wire and 1 fuse ,is there anymore and what is the normal market price tfor installing it?
