Hows your define best engine oil? Longer distance b4 it make the oil dark? Or better FC vs b4 oil change?

Just the one that's cheaper than branded ones like Petronas but won't harm the engine is good enough biggrin.gif

I tried googling Mizu but couldn't find their office or whatever, so that makes me sceptical. Now I'm eyeing HIPRO engine oil as it seems to be legit and their fully synthetic oil price isn't that high either.

If it sold in shopee mall, then I assume it is ok. If private seller, I skip

May I know how long have you been using Mizu for your exora bold? Since I mostly change my EO by myself, I'm trying to find which EO is the best. My Exora's ODO is 121793km.
*
2022 Dec at 127k until now at 155k, total ~30k km
usually the 0W-40

some say ok, some say not
but my last change detected sludge on inside the engine cover... so, ymmv

update:
- used 2 cycles of Mizu, each cycle 2500km, total 5k, to reduce chances of sludge
- now switch to different brand and monitor

Guys, I recently found a neglected Bold CFE. The owner was in financial trouble but the car has zero loans except for 2k with the mechanics.

Condition wise about 70-75%. Paint work quite bad. Windscreen cracked. Taillights and headlights dull and has water vapour inside. Front seats were torned. Dashboard and interior still ok. Probably need a wipe down. 2 front tires flat. Rear tires ok.

RT expired about a year ago.

Market price for Bold CFE according to various sites is between 12 to 15k depending on condition.

I'm thinking of getting this and offering to pay off the owner's debt with the mechanic. How much should I be offering for the car itself? Also, how much for repair everything as below?

Windscreen ?
Taillights ?
Headlights ?
2 tires ?
Front bumper ?
Front seats (driver + passenger) ?
Bonnet ?

Debt to mechanic, 2k

How much to offer the owner for the car? Will 5-6k acceptable?

Car is still drivable and I found no jerks or delay in gear shifts.

there's a cable to unplug inside the roof, coming from the windshield attachment
there's a cover also, need to pry open
remove the mirror assembly, need to twist the whole thing holding the leg of the rear view mirror, either clockwise or counter clockwise also can, because it's a twist lock

Hey guys I'm wondering if Exora is worth it. I like boot size of it and it is good for my father who has stroke to get in and he said he likes the car.

However, I've heard people say the engine and radiator causes problems after a few years.

Can anyone vouch for exora so I can finally pull the trigger thanks!

For old people getting in and out of any car, Exora is the best I ever come across. Just slide in and out of the seats.

I have never encountered those problems with mine. The only -ve is very high fuel consumption.

Where buy exora now? Used car need to save some budget for repairs. Protons require attention, you have to maintain them well, take note of things that require to service and parts need replace when due and it’ll run great.

I would say, maintenance wise, Proton is just like any other car. Just service as per owner manual, and you will be fine like other cars

I bought an used 2021 Executive about 2 months ago and loving it. Sold my Peugeot 3008 for 3k because it needed another 20k for repairs.

Despite the noisy cabin and dashboard rattling, it is kinda quirky. I have since DIY the audio system, fog lights, air horn and a few simple mods.

Right now I have 2 reverse cams. One from the 70mai D07 mirror dashcam and another from the Sony head unit. Each with different angles and triggered together.

Added a subwoofer too with DIY plywood base and carpet underlay yesterday.

Even added an Ottocast dongle to convert the Sony wired AA to wireless AA. Smooth as butter.

I have many more mods to do but will do it slowly.

On my previous Peugeot, it is not moldable. Any electrical or engine mods will trigger an Electrical Fault or Engine Problem errors. So fed up with such errors.

Used Exora plenty on FB Marketplace or Carousell.

Beware of old models from 2012 till 2018 especially if the previous owners haven't changed the OCH before. Look for 2019 onwards as these using OCH v2 or v3. Mine using OCH v3 done at Proton SC. Total including the oil change and OCH came to RM 500 which is cheap compared to my Peugeot 3008 previously.

The older u buy, the cheaper it gets. Saw a few 2012s going for 11-13k on FB Marketplace. U can buy these old models but need to prepare at least to 10k to overhaul the gearbox, wear and tear items and clean the interiors. U never know what u will find. I found a couple of RMs underneath the carpet and seats. If u budget for 15k, overhaul the engine too. Once all done, it will feel like a brand new car without any loans.

True. I got like 280-300 @ RM 60 of 95 fuel. Still slightly better than my Peugeot 3008. Of course pick-up is slower due to CVT. AT so much quicker at acceleration.

i suggest get RC with the new ODO, bigger LCD in the middle (or you can swap old car with new ODO, but the mileage will differ).
bigger LCD set to running L/100km monitor fuel consumption, when cruising, can be lighter on pedal, dont need rev so high. save fuel where possible.
also newer odo minor benefit is nicer seatbelt and signal sound.

I spent RM50 per week for Saga, does it mean I have to spend twice?

That's amazing sadly newer models are not available here.

Turbo is highly recommended because the body is heavy. But the engine is quite thirsty for city driving.

If u coming from continental, it is a saving. If coming from Perodua or Toyota, it is a guzzler.
