dude..u want to apply for MAS and your signature caption is anti government... how la..MAS is all Barisan ppl.
btw as a malay u stand a better chance... if there was an intake... of let say 12.
7 will be malay 3 chinese and 2 indian
not to be racist of any sort for that matter, just reality check if you're not a bumi and you're applying. everyone can be a good pilot..whether malay or not as there has been no major problems with the airlines in terms of flying..MAS so far has had a good record.

QUOTE(hlchan84 @ Jun 24 2008, 11:24 PM) Hi, The age limit for pilot is 26. I am now 24, just finished my Degree in Engineering last August. I applied for SIA, and they shortlisted me for interview. I manage to get through their 1st and 2nd interview as well as the Medical. Nothing wrong with getting a degree first, I have got a Degree, but make sure you have an Engineering Degree I suppose. Always have a backup plan for yourself and you can handle the stress of the interview well. I met a cadet pilot undergoing his training in Singapore telling us that he finished his degree as well as master and went to work for 3 years before applying for pilot. As long as they feel that you are qualified, they will want you. But as I heard from the cadet pilots as well, the drop out rate from their training program is around 20-25%. If you have a Degree, even if you dropped out, at least you can find other alternative jobs. So the upper age limit is 26? Why didn't they say so in the ad? Maybe that means I won't have a chance... I'm already 32

Hi guys, Im thinking of joining malaysia air force being a fighter plane pilot. I know this sounds funny in some way, but anyone know about this please tell me. I checked the Malaysia air force website, it seems nothing about recruitment for cadet. Btw, im a certified Divemaster, is that gonna help ?
THX.

Hey guys, my height is around 1.64m, and I did apply for the cadet pilot, and received an email for phase 1, but what's stopping me is about the stringent height requirement. I am very afraid that if I go for the interview, they would reject me at once upon seeing my height, I have past experiences flying in youth flying club, and that's why I am trying to apply for this post..please give me some advice. Are there any pilots below the height of 1.65m?

Are there any pilots below the height of 1.65m? When you are there, they will measure your height first before the interview. You stand beside a scale on the wall, and they place a ruler on top of your head and see where does it point to in the scale. So if you are 2-3mm shorter then you may "cheat" through. In cabin crew interview there are people got turned away for being 1 cm short, not sure about pilot.

Sigh...if it's a few 2-3 mm of course it's possible to cheat, but if you are talking about 1-2 cm difference, how to cheat... pilot selection in SIA is among the most stringent...sian, i should have known better and not applied..now i am in a dilemma...travel all the way to changi, and then measure height, buang..then go back cry for stupidity..is going to suck.

I'm already 32 well, the age limit for most cadetship programmes are 26. but if you are above that age, you can always take up a private ATPL/IR course. Later on once you have your license, you can look for work with many airline companies opening up these days. Most of the guys from my (private) batch went to Firefly and MASwings. One of them ended up as an instructor in Malacca. He was 32 when he joined us. a word of caution though, private funding is not cheap.

I have -5.00 and -5.50 (or it raises to -6.00+-, don't know). Can I still be eligible to apply for MAS pilot? Unfortunately, I don't take Physics instead i take Biology, Chemistry, Add. Maths and EST.
