Terrapin ? No, just turtles and tortoise.

Actually there's only a few terrapin. Diamondback terrapin and a few that im not sure. Will update here again after im done with the research.

They are recorded to have a lifespan of around 20-30 years. If good care and a healthy diet they can live up to 40 years. Normally they ended being a roadkill and some use them for medication. Sad case..

wow... those small small tortoise tat cost rm8 also can live so long? haha... anyone know the market price for small star toirtoise now? plan to get 1 if its in my budget...

from my prev post, a shop in ipoh offer me baby star for rm80 something. adult male rm800. adult female rm1500. so i assume the price is somewhat tha same around the globe. har har. if u want cheap2, go to india. sri lanka. star mainly from there if im not mistaken.

im going to have myself 2 star this new year. my year 2007 pet azam will be

1. upgrade my res tank from 2 ft to 3 ft plus a canister filter.
2. buy 2 baby star plus the enclosure setup.

Yeah, they do live quite long. Small star tortoise are not recomendded because they are prone to fall sick easily and some may die. Its better to get those which size is above 3 inches. At that size, they retails for around rm150 to rm200 depending on the shop.

Woah, quite expensive. Here, only the females that are expensive. Male would cost around rm600 max and female can fetch a higher price for the same size. How big is your star tortoise ?

Adult specimen's age is more than 4 years.

again if that green turtle is the res, the price is onli 6 ringgit. almost all pet shops i went sell that res. but beware, pets wonderland (great eastern mall) mark up the price to rm12. better buy them from common pet shop lar.
