bumping an old thread. Is there anyway to do the vdroop mod on this motherboard but using a pencil instead? i wanna do a pencil mod for the vdroop instead of soldering things. and looking at this picture




will connecting the 2 points by drawing a line on the PCB using a pencil from one of the points to the second point work?

Btw, any known methods to force the ram running at 2T? besides slotting in 4rams in all the slots

Using the latest mod rebel's bios. Withthe ES and 2x1gb KVR Hynix FP-Y5, i can only boot until 310fsb and only 400fsb. i cant boot between 310-400 or 400-450. I've gone thru rebel's workaround on this mobo. I've put the fan on the NB and using a good HSF. The overheating is out of the issue. aso i've set my rams to 5-5-5-12.

Looks like we have almost the same situation.

I have the T965 express version. The non deluxe and non PT but Vista certifiy mobo.

My E4300, if use original bios, only unitl 220fsb. After using the rebel's latest bios, can go until 315fsb. Also 2 x 1GB KVR Hynix FP-Y5.

Hopefully there will be new bios coming up.

probably for ur case it's a little different. The BSEL mod might/not work for u. There's a strap speed change which occur around +/- 20fsb from 400fsb. did u straight jump to 400fsb? that would be 3.6ghz which would be too much.

Added on May 25, 2007, 9:28 amanyways, gave some tests and played around with my setup yest. Funny thing is that, i got better stabilities when the rams are in the Orange slots instead of the greens. got my ES to 3.2ghz @ 1.45v.

I got one Q. Whenever i wan to overclock from default, the computer will off for few seconds b4 getting boot.

yeap it's normal. Going thru "Global Reset" . Rebel's has a lot info on it

My mobo suddenly dead when i try to oc the QX6700 to 3.9Ghz... (boot into windows n suddenly shutdown itself n it never wakeup again.) .
Anyway i have try on 3.7Ghz@1.55v@idle temp 55", only try run superPI n C&C3, it look quite stable.




Edit: Already send my dead mobo to RMA, hope they can change lastest revision mobo for me.

I though i can make it to 3.9Ghz n print the screenshot directly, so i dint catch the screenshot of 3.8Ghz, manatau....
I dun remember which forum have mention it got new rev for Tforce965PT.
So few week already, u still dint get ur mobo back yet?

BIOS updates should do it. Seems that Biostar have a lot of supporters now. Even got special tweak BIOS.

yes, lazy to RMA it.. using my own sound device actually. But i think my NB got prob alrdy becoz yesterday when i run my mobo driver cd, my mobo cant be recognize.
3.8GHz for QX6700 is very good alrdy, share some screenie here pls.
