I have a T965 express, the version 5 one which is Vista certify. The bios has been flashed to the 1333 one, P96ba731.rh1.
Yesterday, got a Q6600 G0. Ram is 2 x 1GB Kingston Value 667 of Hynix chips.
After some boot and reboot. Found that I can only boot at below 310FSB or 400,401,402FSB. 311-399 and >403 all cannot run at all. Got long beep sound, which is for memory error.
Between 311-399, if at 334,335, only dark screen cannot boot. But no beep sound.
I managed to install XP at 300 x 9 of 2.7G. And able to boot up at 402x9 of 3.6G.
I feel the ram maybe the issue that make this mobo cannot boot at those FSB. Maybe need to get those 1066 ram.
Will wait for sometime after burn-in to see if I am able to run daily use at 400x9 of 3.6G.
Ok. Hynix ram is the problem. My feeling is the mobo ram timing maybe limited or tight. And the Hynix ram some how is not compatible or need looser timing to run.
Previously, for 24/7 stable, can only run at 300x9 in XP.
I just got my new Crucial Value 533 D9 ram today. Just now replaced the Hynix and can boot from 300 to 380 at 5 mhz intervel.
Right now, memtest at 380x9 with 667 ram setting. So ram is at 950 with 444-12 and 2.1v.
I also found that the strap is at 350mhz, according to the memory speed for ram in the memtest.
Will test further to find out the max of cpu, mobo and D9.
Later on, will see how high the XP can prime stable.
