Those temperature is way too high for me. Personally, if the temperature of cpu / gpu heat up to 90 degree, even though you can't feel the temperature by your hand, I think it will still reduce your component lifespan. Your laptop won't last long if it is very hot for long term. Diablo 3 is not really a high demanding game. I can max everything in ultra and play it in 1080p and still manage to get pass 60fps mark. You should try play games like Watch Dogs, Far Crys or Crysis. Those are high demanding game which require a lot of gpu power.
You can try to reapply a different thermal paste, but you need to ask your service center whether it is allowed or not. Since changing stuff which is not by the factory or manufacturer may void your warranty.

k then for now i better keep an eye on the situation. Guess i'll install HWmonitor hmm.gif

Wait.. what ? you dono ? hahaha
Well since we Z5 user doesn't have a very good fancy UI control center to manage all fan, screen settings stuff, we get a macro key to utilize those settings smile.gif
FN + 0 => Dim Screen
FN + 1 => Max fan speed
FN + 9 => On/Off Intel Turbo Boost
FN + Esc => On/Off touch pad
Others fn keys is pretty much self explanatory from the keyboard itself.

Z5 got 2 marco to switch off the backlid.
- FN + spacebar => Adjust brightness of keyboard backlid light (Off / Normal / Brightest)
- There is a button beside the M1,M2,M3,M4 macro keys, pressing that button will turn off the backlid of the macro keys

Yep the user defined key, do you want it? We can give you the download link.

Speaking of "User Defined Key", Fn + 8 doesn't seem to do anything, so why is it that M2 is set to Fn + 8 by default?

QUOTE(miong93 @ Apr 17 2015, 01:49 PM)
I think we just need to be careful when we're removing the back cover. Same as for every other laptop. Because it may break if we apply force in the wrong way.

It's flimsy but any pane that can be removed easily is a good pane!

hi Mingxun,

Yes its a 8 cell battery.
*
Btw, there's an option to "Enable USB charging" in the BIOS setup. What does that mean and how do I make use of that?

QUOTE(bananalow @ Apr 17 2015, 04:40 PM)
May I know how to off the screen without sleep/hibernate the laptop? Can't find the shortcut key.. XD
*
Fn + 0 to toggle the screen on and off. Or, if you have the "User Defined Key" installed, by its default configuration, it's set to M4 which is just a shortcut for Fn + 0.

I wonder what does Fn + 8 do?

The color is warmer, same as mine too. I didn't use their color calibration, I prefer mine better. haha
For the BSOD, can you tell us what is your BSOD error code ?

*
ya and IMO i think the original profile looks more accurate than the calibrated profile. Luckily i got the calibration as freebies else would cry sweat.gif
I dint take note of the BSOD code btw, restarted straight way.

I think it just simply put a default macro for you. I set speaker volume UP and DOWN, brightness UP and DOWN for those 4 macro key. As I'm using these 4 very frequently. It is up to user to set what they want. No need to be so specific sweat.gif
I apologize for not being clear. It should be On/Off display instead of Dim.

Download BlueScreenView. It will give the details of the BSOD you encountered. (subjected to it has a dump file generated)

If you didn't do anything to the BIOS, it will be switched on by default once you turn on your laptop. And if you installed the driver correctly, after your windows is completely booted up, when you toggle the Intel Turbo Boost, it will display a UI to tell you it is currently On or Off. But sadly no straight forward indicator. So no choice but to press FN+9 again to see it is on or off.

I see what you mean.

So, only the backlight portion of the LCD display is turned off but the LCD display on the whole is still working.

There is no backlight and you can't see anything unless you shine some light on it, and only when there's enough light reflected off the screen can you barely see anything, if at all.

But shouldn't we just consider the screen to be turned off since is it even possible for any laptop with such an LCD display to have the display turned off completely, instead of just the backlight, while the laptop on the whole is still turned on?

More accurately, it's not dimming or turning off the screen, but turning off just the LCD backlight.
