Dunno if relevant, but how much does it cost to lay 1000 km of fibre?
*
no idea. need basis to estimate. like excavation cost how much per km, then lay of fibre cable how much per km, then how much of backfill and premix tar road per km. the cost times 1000 is the answer. this is how QS estimate the price.

I have a 0.67 acre project in Rungkup, Perak.

Do you have contacts for any civil and structural engineers in near there? Teluk Intan would be the nearest town.

Contacts for sub-contractors would be good also.

Thanks in advance

say if the structural work already almost complete, then Architect say need windows coping as rain water might splash in. Main con ask subcon to cast the coping.

1. Which method will he use? Using lintel or cast it separately?

2. Subcon want to measure by kongsi kong rather than in meter run, because subcon said cannot cover. How to argue with him?
*
actually there are poly foam coping. light and easy to fix. but of course provided Architect accepted this proposal sweat.gif

look in the contract of variation work clauses. it allow main con to claim in daywork too if the work cannot be measured. but this case u can measure. so cannot claim daywork, but u can convert daywork to meter run. definitely the ordinary process of work is disrupted therefore different price have to be allow to cater such variation. u need to justify this to client. if client say can do at cheap cost, tell him pass u that subcon. u use that subcon and mark up 15% as allow in contract. PAM standard form of contract allow 15% mark up provided the subcon invoice shown to client. of course this best to be done b4 u physically execute the work.

Construction materials are GST Standard rated right?

When developer unable to charge gst to house buyer, they will build in gst cost into the house price.

This will happens right?
*
developer won't make rugi business. for sure they factor in the GST in the selling price la sweat.gif

*
think account / finance is better career. imagine work at bank bonus 10 months, this will never happen at contractor sweat.gif

varies. i can tell u this markup go through many level already. for developer, 25% is profit while 75% is expenses to build the building up.

Out of 75%, 60% is main con and the balance 15% goes to consultant fee, local authority contribution, marketing & advertising, and etc.

Out of 60%, 54% is actual cost given to subcon fixing cost and maincon supervision cost while 6% is main con profit.

out of 54%, 46% is the material and labour subcon use while 8% is subcon profit.

in conclusion, actual material and labour cost to build is just 46% sweat.gif

of course this is different from project to project biggrin.gif
*
Didn't expect any1 to reply.

46% is a lot.I tot banglas worker wif peanut pay bring down d cost but I guess d cost savings ady songlap kaokao d.

Main Contractor

Local Authority (DBKL, BOMBA, SYABAS, TNB, TELEKOM, POS, JKKP, IWK and etc.)

Use cement board to clad the interior walls and use foam insulation to fill the cavity between the board and the container wall.

But I doubt the dampening effect will be perfect because the container walls are corrugated to begin with.

The insulation advantages would be a cooler interior and perhaps better soundproofing.

Just my two cents.

can you help to spec a hollow rectangular/square metal tube for metal column and horizontal support for 18' x 6' clay roofing for the side of house? what thickness/grade of metal to use?

thinking to use 2"x4" for 18' support and 3"x3" for column support

edit: nvm, sorted out with supplier using 1.9mm RHS and SHS

hello,
why the malaysian road got some many potholes if compare to other third world countries such as vietnam or indonesia ?
is it fair to say it is due to the quality of the construction material or method used to save costs?
