SIr another question, When consultant issue an EI to contractor. Can the contractor come out with the quotation and discuss the rate (finalized the price)before work is carried out?

Depends on on the instructions..... It is either up to the contractor to absorb the costs or discuss the variation orders which materials will be based on market price.

In the end see how the changes affects the works....

contractor have to carry out the work at his best endeavour even though the price not yet finalize. it is because contractor signed the agreement that they allow engineer/consultant to instruct them to work and they will carry out upon the instruction given. I know this seems unfair but the fact is contactor didn't challenge this clause while signing the agreement, so it's actually fair since contractor accepted that agreement to obey instruction. when come to cost wise, what a competent contractor would do is get competitive pricing in the market and client can't challenge the price is this is competitive market price. hence as a contractor u have to be very competent else in risk of big rugi

that's is datokong laugh.gif
it's just Chinese superstitious believe and everyone buy it. basically u do the work at that ground so u must ask for permission and pray for safe and smooth progress. even Japan and Korean contractor also buy into this idea. but some because of the client (developer) is Chinese so they did that to ease their mind la.

I have a 0.67 acre project in Rungkup, Perak.

Do you have contacts for any civil and structural engineers in near there? Teluk Intan would be the nearest town.

Contacts for sub-contractors would be good also.

Thanks in advance

say if the structural work already almost complete, then Architect say need windows coping as rain water might splash in. Main con ask subcon to cast the coping.

1. Which method will he use? Using lintel or cast it separately?

2. Subcon want to measure by kongsi kong rather than in meter run, because subcon said cannot cover. How to argue with him?

architect revised but want contractor bear the cost!!!

1st, review drawing, is the coping in the drawing?
2nd, review BQ, if the item never inculded the sub-con will have to submit quotation.
3rd, if the BQ got schedule of rates, contractor can only quote accordingly

everything can be discuss nicely, cover back from other place rolleyes.gif

Construction materials are GST Standard rated right?

When developer unable to charge gst to house buyer, they will build in gst cost into the house price.

This will happens right?
