Ur phone usage like my grandma phone weh.

Doesn't justify enough tbh. Greenify works.

Because I'm mostly out of office most of the time, I need a lot of juice but hate bringing power bank around. So maximize juice mode.

QUOTE(nickchk89 @ Oct 18 2014, 08:33 AM)
reason i use greenify
cant stand if got any program i dont wan run in the back, takes my ram
idle power gets battery

i dont expect huge battery gain if use greenify, just for idle power and peace of mind
*
If hibernating an app means releasing RAM as well then yeah.

QUOTE(mudkipryan94 @ Oct 18 2014, 08:58 AM)
Hi-5... and if wanna deepest battery saver.. go ditch Xposed framework... smth was called deep sleep smth (if i not mistaken)
*
Switch off the phone completely and switch on when needed is the most power battery saver.

It will release the unused ram, that's why i love it

Mi3 if without greenify, will left only 300mb,if hibernate all apps =800mb,I'm not a ssocial apps heavy user,so i can sacrifice the fb,wechat, whatapps notification.

Hehe, maybe we all should talk about world hunger and nothing else. I don't have detail study to back my claim. But I really didn't notice any battery savings after 6 month of use. After that I uninstalled it

Cool. Good to know that.

I'm starting to uninstall every other RAM booster softwares and only keep greenify. Well, I still need the cleanmaster for cleaning junks though.

By the way, what System apps are safe to Greenify? I don't want to f the OS up.

Here are my findings.

Apps that are kept in ram do cause significant increase in wake lock
wake lock with greenify is 2%,
without greenify (5-14% depending on a number of background app kept)

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Greenify works by significantly reduces wakelocks. But the results is not that jaw dropping. If u just clear your apps and go to sleep, the results will be the same. Greenify helps by auto force stop your background apps when it's not in use during idle. Just like iOS let unused app freeze and stop wasting resources.

Extra wake lock seems bad, and it does impact battery life, but the impact is very minimal. I done 3 observation.
A 2% wake lock causes 3% battery lost over a 6 hour 45 mins period
A 5% wake lock causes 3% battery lost over a 6 hour 45 mins period
A 14% wake lock causes 5% battery lost over a 6 hour 10 mins period.

I'm giving this issue a rest. Lost interest in further investigating.
In the mean time I'll continue using greenify to freeze fb. It's the highest wake lock contributor.

due to your phone battery capacity is higher so then impact of wakelock is not that obvious. if phone with smaller capacity will see more impact from the wakelock.

Google Search seems only trigger wakelock every 10 minutes. did you use xposed+unBounce?

I dont know much, but from my findings and opinion, Greenify does help me in terms of saving more juice (Battery) during screen off time, as like Facebook/Twitter/Instagram. As those types of social apps (or something like it) introduces wakelocks during Deep Sleep as they uses Google Cloud Messaging (Push Notifications) in which, involve in many wakelocks. In my usage, i never care about any notification from those apps, im more to Messaging apps guy, so i would just Hibernate them.

About system wakelock, that doesnt contribute to this issue unless you're using Greenify to hibernate them then we can talk. If you just hibernate some user apps you downloaded from PlayStore, thats totally different story.

In your case, maybe your facebook or any social apps doesnt have much notification to create big wakelocks. But you mentioned FB still produce wakelocks even after Greenify?

I noticed that there's this App not installed thingy after installing Greenify or maybe because of the Xposed GEL module when I disable Google now? Hmm...

Those bloatware doesn't affect battery life much.
Even deleting all of them save me about 50MB space only.

I wonder how did you get that idea because I never said anything like that.

I'm comparing standby time while I sleep with and without greenify. One of the apps I greenify is Facebook.

With greenify, fb cause zero wake lock.
Without greenify, the wake lock is amazing, one day it has 70+ and another 100+.

I don't use fb messenger, contact sync is turn off, and notification off as well. But it still have so much wake lock. A terrible app if u ask me.

Refer to screen shots of wake lock detector I posted. It should give u a good idea.

Blue : With greenify, you dont have FB wakelocks anymore.

Red : Yet you mentioned you still got wakelock, when? With greenify or without? I thought you got zero wakelock when using Greenify as like what u said in Blue
