What phone are you using? IMO new phones won't see that much of an impact cos the battery is fairly new.

Maybe you'll see more results on older phones?

I installed greenify on my mi3 with aosp it does help a bit when on idle. If you're using your phone most of the time don't think it'll help much since some of the apps only hibernate after screen is off. Killing tasks in the background helps conserve battery too. So if you kill background tasks oftenly, don't think you'll see significant differences.

By the way I have no problems with notifications for my WhatsApp. I do get instant notifications. No lag or anything so far.

That's why I compare when they are idle. I will try again tonight.

Mind if I ask what phone are you using? That battery life is pretty healthy in the first place. biggrin.gif

By the way it seems like CleanMaster is killing off the accessibility settings for the greenify which is required to hibernate the apps?

Actually android already have a pretty good ram management system.

Greenify is just an extra. I don't know if we really need it but so far so good la.

Besides Greenify i also use ShutApp and CleanMaster to clean the background services

I think you miss understand the way of Greenify usage, I not sure for ShutApp, but CleanMaster basically just another Apps Killer, or you can call it Force Close. Greenify doesn't not kill the apps like any other Apps Killer or Task Manager, Greenify is put the apps to sleep (or you can call it Hibernate) and when you need it or use it, it resume back where you left off, while Task Killer can't do this.

Exactly, I know what Greenify does. I can only say that one of the reason why I sometimes prefer killing tasks completely is to free up RAM. I'm too used to the built in cleaner of the MIUI. Now that I've gone to AOSP, I have yet to give up this idea of killing the tasks completely to free up RAM.

But then again, I have yet to discover if an app goes into hibernation will it take up the RAM usage as well? hmm.gif

Otherwise the data from 100% drop few % is not accurate. My G Pro 2 from 100% directly use for 20 minutes SOT still show 100%.

Only if you always use Google Now voice function, otherwise no point to have it keep running and every minute it'll wake up the device.
No point to always killing app, android system is designed to load app that you frequently use as stand by so killing it means it'll load the app over and over again making your battery worse.

When greenify put an app into hibernation it basically just kill the app when going into deep sleep. It will also free up the ram. This is why I didn't put Chrome in greenify list, otherwise it will load again all the many tabs.

I see. Nice tip! But I do need the cleanmaster for cleaning junks.

After JellyBean/ICS you no longer need to kill task unless you are using 512RAM bro sweat.gif

Also, the Greenify Hibernation doesn't take your RAM if your Apps goes hibernated. It work exactly like Task Killer but it won't kill it, I don't know code, but this is really how it works, you try compare task killer and Greenify on the Chrome (with few tabs) you can get what I mean.

Haha I always like to see my ram a lot ma.

Now i kill apps only after a long session with it, then hibernate it.

Anyways still having this habit of cleaning the background tasks coz of miui

By the way does widget take up resources? I've set hibernation & lock on my desktop to preserve the power button

Ur phone usage like my grandma phone weh.

Doesn't justify enough tbh. Greenify works.

Because I'm mostly out of office most of the time, I need a lot of juice but hate bringing power bank around. So maximize juice mode.

reason i use greenify
cant stand if got any program i dont wan run in the back, takes my ram
idle power gets battery

i dont expect huge battery gain if use greenify, just for idle power and peace of mind
*
If hibernating an app means releasing RAM as well then yeah.

Hi-5... and if wanna deepest battery saver.. go ditch Xposed framework... smth was called deep sleep smth (if i not mistaken)
*
Switch off the phone completely and switch on when needed is the most power battery saver.

It will release the unused ram, that's why i love it

Mi3 if without greenify, will left only 300mb,if hibernate all apps =800mb,I'm not a ssocial apps heavy user,so i can sacrifice the fb,wechat, whatapps notification.

Cool. Good to know that.

I'm starting to uninstall every other RAM booster softwares and only keep greenify. Well, I still need the cleanmaster for cleaning junks though.

By the way, what System apps are safe to Greenify? I don't want to f the OS up.

Hehe, maybe we all should talk about world hunger and nothing else. I don't have detail study to back my claim. But I really didn't  notice any battery savings after 6 month of use. After that I uninstalled it

Well saving energy means a better environment also. Why not?

well,im not advice you to hibernate system apps, cause that will cost some trouble

i notice google play service can be hibernate,so i tried,it makes me cant sign in sometimes and close my apps downloading. a

if things are hangout, google plus, its safe to hibernate, but all in all,i wouldnt hibernate a single system apps
*
I noticed that there's this App not installed thingy after installing Greenify or maybe because of the Xposed GEL module when I disable Google now? Hmm...

QUOTE(mtxx @ Oct 18 2014, 03:35 PM)
Are you using Samsung phone? Touch wiz have a huge bunch of system apps that are safe to greenify. Heck it's even save to fully uninstall.
