Waa. U make me scared. Hope mine will hold on at least until warranty expired. But I don't think can hold too long thou. Can't clean the fan as it will void my warranty (TS no reply so I assume once open the back cover, warranty will be voided).

It's your fault silrave because AW so late out latest GPU. Haha JK.

But seriously maru&box, for Asus, think twice because their CS is not so different. I myself have bad experience with Asus CS. Don't know if they had already upgraded their service. But still it's up to you.

My suggestion, if u want buy new laptop, consider Alienware or Illegear.

I bought the GE Apache pro when it first came out cos I heard good reviews about it.
The laptop is definitely quite good (gets a little bit hot sometimes) but cant say the same about customer service.

Ya I heard illegear has above average CS. The prices are also getting more competitive oso. Maybe I will switch to them when nvidia comes up with their next gen gpus in 2016.

Just to update to the "resolution" of this customer service nightmare I had a long time ago in the last thread.

1.I brought in my unit as promised and it was "fixed".

2.Checked the speakers and was happy.

3.Flew back to Penang.

4. Over the weekend I decided to use my headphones again after enjoying the speakers for a few days. I only use headphones recently because the speakers sound bad.

5. Headphones and mic jack doesn't work anymore.

6. Complain the the center messed up my laptop audio/mic jacks and forced to send in laptop again for 1 week.

7. I requested for the service report to state that the latest report is made because they did a bad job on the first report and caused this issue. They tried to make it look like the laptop so ngam ngam have 2 problems in 2 weeks in the 2nd service report. Genius.

8. Also requested they find who is responsible and ask to issue an apology. -- Nobody wants to take any blame.

9. Waiting for response now --> I think they will just ignore.
Quite fed up of this nonsense already.
They even have to force me to personally ask for an apology when it is obviously their fault. First time I heard of this.Don't even want to say "sorry lah".

Probably will need to ask around if Asus or Lenovo has better CS before buying new laptop when the next GPU refresh comes out.
*
Have you tried reinstalling audio driver and testing it first? Say, connect to external speaker, it may have something to do with the settings. By the way, I suggest you better opt for lenovo, illegear and alienware in your future upgrade, skip asus.

Hello there, just to confirm it, for GT72 (i believe it's the same for other models) the warranty sticker is attached to one of the screw hole at the back cover, so if I plan to clean the fan or doing any upgrade, the warranty will be voided?
*
Not by yourself, you must ask an authorized MSI seller/shop to do for you. There was a case before, where he sent the laptop for upgrade hardware, charged him RM70 something. In the process, a new warranty sticker was issued. You tried searching in older v2 thread.

No, what i mean is when he want to buy new laptop, can choose from these brands, plus, they offer warranty upgrade also. Asus basically is sucked in customer service, you can refer to asus complaint thread. But Asus's gaming laptop is great, especially the silent fan design in high load condition.

Yup, did everything. Uninstall driver,re-install driver.Connect my headset and tried my own mike.
When you plug anything into the jack the speakers never turn off. Nothing is detected.

Their report also says that the cause something was loose inside my laptop but never mentioned how come something like that can get loose when it was working perfectly until I got it back from the center.

I asked them to check if it was their mistake but they just ignore so I got really mad.

JB service I am not sure, as you point out, mostly the problem seems to come from PJ and KL service center. I am not sure whether JB service center will also send back to KL service center or outsource to 3rd party to do it. Illegear has warehouse in Kluang, Johor. That is why I recommend it if someone consider seriously in warranty service.

GT72 Cooling layout

The GT72 comes with a much improved dual-fan cooling solution compared to its predecessors. Thanks to advanced thermal engineering and features such as the thermal bridge (the heatpipe connecting the CPU cooling block to the VGA exhaust fins), the GT72 has a world-class cooling system. Anyone can keep a system cool by blasting the fans on max RPM, but the dual-fan Cooler Boost 3 solution also manages to keep the revs and thereby the noise levels down.

As we already touched on a couple of weeks ago, we know that the temperatures never reach above 80°C, even with a grossly overclocked GTX 980M – the Cooler Boost 3 design you see above is the reason for this.

Yeah, for now mostly I played MaxPayne 3, WatchDog, Dota 2 and Fifa14. Even when I forgot to switch on the Cooler Booster, the highest temperature only around 70/71°C. The temperature maintains 60-64°C when Cooler Booster is on. But well, just for precaution. Probably in next 6 months the fan will be dusty, that's why I want to confirm whether MSi have cleaning service without voiding the warranty or not.

Thanks TS!
